  1. sure is, straight from tial. very looking at getting the gtx3076 in the very near future (hopefully)...
  2. Believe me, once the funds are together and the car is once again drivable (after suspension and brakes), its the first thing to swap out to a gtx3076r. I cant imagine what peoples reaction would be once I tell the how much ive also spent on stuff not related to the motor
  3. I cant see how u can safely have we'll say 500hp for less than 7k. Once you introduce 500hp, you cause alot of problems elsewhere, clutch, suspension, brakes to name a few. EDIT: no point have 1000hp if you cant turn or stop - especially for a road registered car. Then to also get a turbo, fit and, tune it, run a fuel system, get it to flow and get it all plumbed up, I cant see it happening unless your getting amazing deals from suppliers. regardless, I do understand that I have spent "more" than needed to reach this figure, but it is a fantastic starting point in terms of a drift car. Its pretty much what I asked for, and in my opinion, its what I got.
  4. well, u must be getting amazing prices on parts because the manifold cost me 1300, ecu was 1800, tune was 1000, fuel system and installation was 800, cooler and piping was 1200, exhaust and screamer was close to 1000, gate was 400, radiator was 350, various hoses / lines / fittings etc was near 500. Inlet manifold was 1400, throttle body was another 300, then things like the catch can, misc labour for other bits and peices that needed doing (water pump). so thats 1300 + 1800 + 80 + 1200 + 1000 +400 + 350 + 500 + 1400 + 300 = ~9k in parts alone. you must also know that I had just replaced the head gasket, and all that had been done was the head removed, resurfaced and then bolted down with arp studs. i left it to the tuner to put the cams in, timing, manifolds, lines etc. I just supplied the parts, he fitted them (his idea). I havent included the price of the housing for the turbo (700) as i dont want that to start any hype lol EDIT: All work performed by insight motorsports in arndell park. top bloke. he asked why i was willing to spend this kinda money and my answer was essentially, why not?
  5. apparently, according to the tuner. we live we learn, cant always win... all good, plan on getting the gtx3076 with tial rear housing. apparently, its pretty much a straight bolt up. and from what the tuner has said, the 44mm gate will easily control boost up to around 25psi on the 6boost manifold, but he doesnt like the fact that i have 3.5" cooler piping from the cooler to tb (90mm thrrottle body with forward facing plenum).
  6. Well, after having got around 14k work done a t a performance shop, Im now making 264rwkw with the same turbo with a tial .64 housing, 6boost manifold, fmic, vipec ecu, 044 and a few other bits and peices. torque curve is completely different, with it coming onto 15psi at around 3400, holding 15psi through to 8500. torque change from ~3800 - 7800 is virually no change (almost flat line). Still need to get bigger injectors (apparently 580cc dont cut it) and most likely a second 044 for 20+ psi. 264 cams with a bit of timing and of course the screamer for shits and giggles... having said that, ive driven it for not even 1000kms, and the oil pump let go (so gonna get a nitto pump fitted). hopefully around february i can have it running again. come march, ill will have had the car registered and insured for a whole year, and only driven it 800kms... joys!
  7. Hey guys, just need a bit of info. I tried the 'search' option but didnt find an answer to my question. The water line that goes into the Block on the exhaust side near the back of the motor, is that a feed or return? I got new manifld(s) with a Tial watercooled gate and need to setup the lines for the turbo. I have ran the water to the turbo from a nipple not far from the thermostat housing and the return to the back of the block on the inlet (heater pipe or something). Will post up pics later. Any help much appreciated. Thanks
  8. Just though I would post up what I've been doing to my 33liner for the past few months. Backstory: I was driving to work one morning and noticed that my oil pressure was about half of what it normally is. I drove it to my workshop and attempted to diagnose the problem but to no avail. I then decided to speak to my engine builder (who is currently in the process of building me a 26/30) and his first peice of advice was to rip the head off. After a few hours of ummmung and arhhhing, I spent the 3 hours it takes to get the stupid inlet manifold off and noticed that the head bolts at both ends of the motor were loose. Once I had pulled the head off, I also noticed that cylinders 1 and 6 were very oily. Valves on cylinders 3-6 were white. What I'm Doing: I got the head machined, vacuum and pressure checked and replaced the valve stem seals. Replaced head bolts with ARP Studs and a Cometic Head Gasket. I also decided that this would be a perfect time to upgrade to aftermarket manifolds, external gate, fuel system, cooler, retune ect. Hoping for 360rwhp with stock bottom end. Its gonna be a prick to change the oil filter now that the big arse manifold is in the way. I will also get a BOV installed sometime down the track. Ill keep this thread updated as I go. Ill post HP / torque figures when I get them. I'm happy to answer any questions anyone might be interested enough to ask.
  9. Trying for 8? Will come with a 19psi actuator, 044 and 2.5L surge tank.
  10. Now asking $8500. Cams have been installed but has not been tuned. Cams running at standard timing. It breathes alot easier up top and has a nice note at idle. Swaybars hopefully going in this weekend with the front adjustable control arms. Inspections welcome.
  11. I did notice that when driving with the actuator disconnected. It still spools the same to around 15psi, but once it hits around 18 at around 5k, it jumps really quickly to around 25-28psi.
  12. ohk. I did absolutely no research when i bought the turbo. I simply went down to mtq and told them i want a large turbo to suit an sr20. I then sold the sr20 I had and got the 33, got a new turbine housing and off I went...
  13. I wonuldn't so much class it as a HUGE restriction but the standard afm is only 3", whereas my intake pipe is 4".
  14. I have tested this a few months ago, but will do again tonight just to confirm. No change in boost speed.
  15. well, ive shot mtq sydney an email asking them is there is any option for a cropped t3 housing with the nissan 6 bolt dump. If not, what option(s) are avaliable for exhaust wheels to suit my housing.
