I have heard of DBA golds giving a little trouble in the cracking department, however I have driven 51 jay's R33 with standard discs, good fluid and a set of NA-r (I think that's the code) Endless pads - cold. This set up would have to be good for at least a 400hp car used for sprint circuit (unlesss your car weighs two tonne). Just a set of Slotted rotors with endless pads (even when they are cold) would be nearly over kill (even for track) unless you have an unlimited budget for brakes.

  4. hhmm...I wouldn't only call one mechanic and trust what he says, especially if what he says lines him up for a job of $200 - $300 at least. I guess the easiest way to check would be to jump back in your car, warm it up and then go for a fang - if it gets on boost, then it's working, if it says well under 0 manifold pressure then it's obviously not making boost and wheel very well may have fallen off.
  5. Crap 91 octane plus Octane booster which costed a fortune (and only bumped octane up to 93)absolutely stuffed up that mod back to 550 km a tank with no power and needing major retarding to stop the ping. :-( rural sucks

    Yeah, get the GTR, it'd be safer than a falcodore or a rio for sure - get insurance if you need the reassurance. The harder you fang the car off the road, the sooner you'll know what it's going to do on the road. You'll be able to afford the track if you can afford the car.

  9. -got Apexi PFC last Tuesday. Tuning myself...very easy to do and can experiment careful (as long as you know what you are looking for). Last Mod:- fuel economy set to get 800km out of my tank on way to Gladstone earlier this week...a mod that saved me heaps of money

  16. Hey, you can't miss me! Ain't too many 4 doors going round (well now there are starting to get more - people stop buying 4 doors and keep them rarer). Keeping it clean - don't like stickers and such. I am sure most of you have seen me/my car or me and my car together (with me in it). I figured the SO-3's aren't a race/semi slick tyre, however if they offered comparable value to the RE540's (like lose 1-2 secs over sprint circuit but last another 15K), then I'd go for the SO-3's since they are cheaper in long run. If the RE 540's are e.g. 5-10 secs faster over sprint circuit and last just as long as SO-3's (being careful with them on the road), then I'd go RE540's since they are also cheaper. MR33 - I want a price for the 245/40 18 RE540's hungry06 - Who makes DJ01 and how much are they for 235(245)/40 18's (preferrably 235s).

  20. I got home from an exam the other day, and for some strange reason, the car just dropped back to 700 rpm! No notice. I was strange since I have got used to it revving at like 1200 rpm...but now it is all normal :confused: Thanks for your help though guys

    Gavin is good for sure - he know's what he is doing (saved my mate $350 with his VL). He won't do anything that isn't necessary.

My poor car II Saturday morning I work up and started my car and it started revving at 1600 rpm....I thought nothing of it, thinking it was just cold start, but after driving for 30 minutes it was still revving at 1200 rpm. today we tried to reset the Throttle Position Sensor, but it was still revving at 1050 rpm... Does anyone know how to make it go back or has anyone had this problem before!? Heeeeeeeelp!!
  25. Final aim for the car when finished - 1/4 mile - 13.2 QR sprint - 1.02 QR National Circuit - TBA All nice and tame - then I have to buy stuff like lounge, bed, coffee machine for the wife! You luck singletons... j/j
