-
LOL i didn't even notice a cop behind me!? Thanks everybody for all your work, great job Wayne and Ash hope you all enjoyed the music saturday night, it was pretty random but i was happy to get involved. happy birthday to alex, danni, james and JB!!! i had a ball, first GOR and i can't wait for the next one! Charles and I decided to go together down princess hwy until he turned off the nepean hwy. i was stopped at the lights, he was going left, then ... **BANG** a silly ford rammed up my arse!! thankfully it's only bumper damage, no lights or guards, but still, it's a custom bumper with a custom paint job. i'll get onto shannons in the morning. i didn't take a camera this weekend but snapped these with my phone

Malvern Street near the railway and cantebury i think. powerstudios.com.au i shouldn't have put the topic as 'dont bother with aftermarket' it should read: 'don't bother with illegal wheels, try something else'

Hi all, As some of you may be aware, I have spent ages returning my car to stock. I often find myself in the cosmetics forum but thought I would post this here cause I collected this yesterday from Bayswater and mainly vic members would recognise me/my car anyways. Daniel Power who did all my airbrushing a few years ago from powerstudios, has outdone himself this time with my original legal steering wheel! Here's a sneak picture I snapped while it was sitting on my seat this morning. When i go home tonight i'll fit it an take more pics, and members coming tomorrrow will hopefully be impressed too For the price of getting it upholstered and the centre airbrushed, it turns out similar to what you would pay for an illegal aftermarket wheel and boss kit on top of that. and it's original, impressive, and omfg i just wanted to show off Has anybody else done anything like this before??
-
i've got a yellow top too, and in need of a new one after 5 years. i got quoted 350. where'd you pick yours up from for 300?
-
It's a paid up members only cruise, there's another post on here somewhere about it, but once you're signed up you get into the members forum section... As for the test, i called the day before and he said drop in at 10am. He came out by around 5 past with his kit, set it up, turned me on, revved it a few times to 4200, then called me over to show me what it was doing. Only cost $37 and I could have left 5 minutes later, but decided to wait until a hoist was free so we could get under and see what could be done to make it legal. giggity giggity alright...found an exhaust place i like close enough to home to walk back, and they're the vic roads suggested one too for testing and stuff - waverley brake and exhaust blackburn road crn ferntree gully road. Got a db test done on Friday, it was 94 :-( The guy said he expected much worse but it wont be a hassle to get fixed, i've booked it in during the week to have two new mufflers installed to replace my existing ones, and he'll weld the two cannons i have back on to look schmick. no room to tuck the exhaust, so i'll have to raise the suspension by a cm or less on each shoe, which hopefully wont make it look like a 4x4, cause seriously the 10cm wheel tool is only just scraping that one section by a fraction. Here's a pic of my exhaust years ago when i first got it, the twins are excellent never looked back so happy. From the 6 times i was pulled over last year they never checked the height, but after next week's appointments i'm going to be feeling way more confident now with all the crack downs etc. can't wait for the weekend's members event
-
Cheers Birds, I'll get onto that.. any recommendations of a place to do it though. Peter where'd you do yours? And where are you heading to get the DB sorted out and tested? shouldn't a mechanic or a wide number of places have these? if so, i wouldn't mind knowing my own reading. keep us updated on the outcome.
-
Where did you get your exhaust lifted? and what part can get tucked up? i'm pretty clueless to this stuff..but last time I was at my mechanics getting other stuff made legal, i asked him if he had a wheel to measure ride height. The entire car was clear except the middle exhaust bit that hangs down right under where you sit, it just clips his measuring tool a little and gets stuck. is there anything that can be done about that or should i be looking at suspension, not exhaust?

location please? -
i've researched this... can't point you to the exact link but i was told firstly to speak to auto engineer place so i did, and they told me not to bother, no need for certificate or anything cause i wasn't changing a thing! didn't chop metal, didn't change structure, nothing, just pulled out the back seats and seat belts to be replaced with other gear and it's all fine... then i went to vic roads and was on the phone forever, then one guy there directed me to their website and the rule stated something like: "for a vehicle less than 10 seats it doesn't matter!" so i asked him if i could register it as a two seater anyway and he said no. there's a ruling on the site but i cbf searching for it again

yes it's Lisa, she was really nice. and the man boob and that messy interior is a shot that should be deleted! we (me and phil) turned up back at the cars just before powderfinger came on, quite smashed, and found bez in the dark clicking away. phil was half naked in the rain showing epic man boob while i was quite out of it and reving the stock engine LOL. damn i wanted to do burnouts on the golf course but too many cops around with the 'monstar energy' party going on just in front of us. argh good times
-
Here's some pics from my camera phone. Powderfinger on Saturday night were great for the short amount of time i was there! Alan you look like you're in your element! And yes, for those of you who couldn't put the name to the face, it's Lisa from beauty and the geek australia.

R33 Series 1 Owners, Steering Wheel.
shanusr33 replied to DarkRB's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
i've had an aftermarket one on for almost 6 years, but recently learned it was illegal. with the strict police in victoria i've been doing my best to make my car legal in the past few months. i had my original steering wheel that was still in the garage upholstered with new leather to match the colors of my door trims and seats, and the middle padded non airbag series 1 horn section i took to Daniel Power powerstudios.com.au to have airbrushed to match it all together with the dash and car too.. it's going to look great, but i dont have it back yet. when i do i'll post a pic. it's relatively cheap if you compare it to aftermarket wheels, plus boss kits etc, works out similar. the leather before i dropped it off to daniel looked amazing! that's probably the best suggestion i have for ya, cheers -
well...finish the story...did you laugh so hard?? or did you go running to help? cause if i'd stacked it and somebody laughing at me i'd slap 'em lol

not long ago when i was trying to get a RWC here in melbourne, my mechanic picked up a simple stick on one like those you get from any auto store, as i also removed the spoiler and because of the angle it doesn't look perfect during the day, but at night it lights up really nice and you can't tell it's not perfectly straight and he gave me the nod and said its fine so yeah, im happy

im yet to find someone who's designed and built their own custom kit for the 33 (i mean apart from myself...) anyone? i wasn't happy with the other 4 front bars i tried, so this was my final straw
