I was just wandering how many Km's does a RB25DET from a S1 R33(Life span), usually last?....daily drive, regular oil change every 5000kms, minor mods, and pull about 700km's per week.....at the moment my car has pulled 190,000km's and still going....quite reliable If it does start wearing out, would the turbo be the first to give way?

i have been using penrite(HPR 15, 15w-50) ever since i bought the car at 70,000kms....it has minor mods, 10psi, r34gtt SMIC, exhaust..... and its daily driven i pull around 700km a week.....and change the oil every 5000km's...... I have tried using motul turbolight 4100, and yes i do agree seeing a difference, car seems to be a little bit more responsive.....but at the end of the day....since my car is a daily driver, and i pull massive km's a week, penrite for me does the job well....and never ever had a problem with it....total cost $45($35 for oil, $10 for ryco oil filter).... I recently tried penrite HPR30 20w-15, due to the summer heat and i want to reduce burning oil, and it proved to be too thick and the car was a complete slug.....so drained it out and used 15w-50 penrite HPR 15, and back to normal....... So the grades will also determine how responsive the car will be

Sounds like the haltech interceptor is more trouble then its worth................. sounds like its cheaper and more reliable leaving the stock ECU in there.....correct?? Finding a tuner to do it right could be a problem....from the sounds of thing....i was going to get c&v performance in carringbah to do it....but not after the senninigans that you guys mentioned....might rethink my option Ninja 09 what negative result did you experience from it??

I currently have a R33 S1, GTS-T, a couple of minor mods, 10psi of a MBC, r34-GTT side mount intercooler, exhaust and intake.... keep in mind this car is an everyday driver.... im happy with the current power it makes. It is however running a stock ecu with 10psi.....therefore you see a big black smoke exiting the exhaust if i give it some stick.... I have a friend who is selling me an haltech interceptor ECU.....my question is, is it worth the conversion??... what will i gain from it?....drivability?...more power?? smoother power?? ...better fuel consumption?....what is the most noticeable improvement i will gain from an aftermarket ecu?? Because once i have bought the ECU, i have to take it for a tune as well.....which is $400-$500..... Has anybody tried the haltech interceptor??.... who is the best place to tune if i do decide to get it??...

I first noticed this problem in the cold morning, when i push my clutch in from time to time, when the engine is cold it makes a winding/grinding noise, so i try to minimise my clutch usage when the engine is cold..... but now even when the engine is warm, it still makes that grinding/winding noise I first thought this could be the thruster bearing..... what could it be possibly??

Hi Guys I just recently purchase a r34 side mount intercooler and what i have realised is, its very responsive now........i notice it in a hot day.... Now apparently from my mechanic i only have a cat back 3inch exhaust....i dont have a turbo back dump pipe unfortunately so my question is, whats best for my next purchase? turbo dump pipe? Manual boost controller + boost gauge to 11psi?? or hunt around for an R32 wastegate & actuator im tempted to go with the MBC + boost gauge to 11psi.... as that will give me more KW.... whats your thoughts??

DRD-OOF, if i were to get the headlights from a s2 and a bonnet from a s2 R33, would this fit in my S1.5?? because i have to admit that the headlights from a s2 R33, looks 10x better.....

Hi Skyrin3 Thanks for the info, i just checked my headlights position, just trying to find out how hard it is to get them out....it seems that there are a few screws in awkward positions.....was it hard for you to remove the headlights??.....and did you seal the covers allright at the end??

When i bought my 1.5 gts-t, the right hand side headlights are fogged up, there is condensation in there.... if i were to get r33 s2 headlights......is there a perfect fit to my s1.5??, is the dimensions different? if not How do i clean the headlight covers and what is a strong glue to seal the headlights back up??

I have a R33 GTST 1.5, the engine has done around 160,000km's There is literally no mod, all stock standard except a 3inch exhaust ...... what would be the next upgrade i need to do to gain extra KW?? what manual boost controller would you recommend?? How much psi can the RB25det handle with the stock?? How much psi can i handle with the stock intercooler?

My front grill for my r33 series 1 has arrived today, its made from fibreglass ..... my question is.... how do i stick mesh in the back of the fibreglass grill??, whats a good strong bonding fibreglass glue?? Whats the best approach in respraying fibreglass products, primer is a must apparently?? Is there a trick installing this front grill to the car??....i dont see clips or mountings for this grill

Hi Guys This is my first nissan ive ever bought, i swapped my 94 Mitsubishi GTO(Which had some work done to it), and before that i had a MY00 WRX... now i decided to go the 95 Nissan Skyline GTST, and at the moment its completely stock here are the details: KMs:155,000 km's exhaust: 3inch mendrel bent turbo back Turbosmart bov POD air filter Stock intercooler Stock psi The engine is good though, no oil leaks, and had the 100K service done on it as well My real question is.....what are the next steps to make horse power ?? FMIC?? MBC?? CPU?? How many psi can these rb25 take if i were to install a MBC??
