Hi there, I have an R32 GT-R which was recently broken into, and they broke my door handle and pushed in the lock to gain entry. It's almost back together now that I've found all the parts. Question is how do i replace the drivers side exterior door handle? I can't seem to find it on the forums or elsewhere online. Thanks

Sounds like good value for money from importing. And I like the variety, maybe I can get lucky with a midnight purple II So I'm probably gonna import, not quite yet though (it'll probably be in a few months as I'm going to Japan next month) but I will probably contact iron chef or j spec to see what I can find
-
Hmm you're right ADP91, I'd be pretty sad if I had found out my car was full of rust and couldn't be complied here after dropping all that money. The fact that so many different people say that iron chef are super picky on your behalf sounds really reassuring, so they will be my pick. Your GT-R sounds amazing btw! Knowing that previous GT-R sales have been going when the dollar was high also gives me and indication of how less I'll get compared to others now that the dollar is low atm, so I'd be paying almost the same as ones here but might get the paperwork and quality through importing.

This is the one I've been looking over, there was one as low as 25k! I think it was grade R though, or in questionable condition/history http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/stock/stock_listing.php?search=R34+GTR&utm_source=Prestige+Motorsport+Mailing+List&utm_campaign=d00b5e6aeb-What%27s+Happening+with+GTR+Prices+%3F&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_56b53b869f-d00b5e6aeb-47464617

Thanks for all the great advice guys, I will definitely look on SAU for any that catch my eye and at a good price, and will probably write off carsales/gumtree and dealerships as an option just due to not being able to trust their history unless they have full paperwork like dereg kms and service history. As for importing I will most likely go through iron chef to try look for one at a good price seeing as I'm not really in a hurry to get one, I have a japan trip next month I'm saving for but will use that to find some 34R parts while I'm there. If I find an R at a steal of a price it'll be worth the wait. Iron chefs rep is also really good from what I've read on the forums, plus my own contact with them was really friendly

I've been looking at different ways to get myself an R34 GT-R the last few months after selling my R33 GTS-4 while sorting out funds. My options seem to be either buy locally by private sale, or dealership (seems hard to find this way), or through importing (have been looking at rough quotes from iron chef, and genuine imports in NSW, and carizma, and at previous 34 auctions on prestige Motorsport in WA). Buying locally seems to be much higher in price, and more so through dealerships that stock imports, may have questionable condition, history, and kms, while importing seems a bit more cheaper (more money for mods) if I am patient, which I'm fine with. Just wanted some more up to date feedback than what I've found on the forums so far. I'm not too fussy on the type of GT-R, I'd love a midnight purple II though but am open to other colors, not fussy on kms (120,000kms would be fine for example), just has to be in a normal condition and fairly stock. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated, as I've never imported before. I've only bought my last two R33's as the second owner in Aus. Thanks!

hey, my r33 series II was recently broken into at highpoint shopping centre while i was at work (cops say theres a group of thugs going around boosting cars). my weathershield was ripped off and my ignition barrel was hollowed out but couldnt be stolen thanks to my immobilizer. this is about my 5th break in, and my second ignition i have gone through since owning the car. i then bought a prolock wheel lock and parked in a different place. i removed the old ignition so my steering wouldnt lock on me. i also use a screwdriver to turn on my car after my immobilizer is disarmed. less than a week later my workmates s15 got broken into, while my car was in front of it. his car had to be towed home cos they did the same to his and wrecked his ignition and wouldnt disarm. mine was untouched (my guess is the prolock did its job). point is im after a new ignition and i was wondering if there is a difference between an auto and manual ignition? my last ignition i bought had the wrong connector for the light surrounding the keyhole, so i didnt want to risk wasting money by getting one totally wrong. also, would a gtr ignition work? i found one for an entire set including glovebox lock, boot lock and door locks for about $220 any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

hey guys, this has most likely been covered somewhere, but id like to know of the best mechanics in the western suburbs for maintenance and fitting of parts. i will be moving from melbourne cbd to somewhere around the maribyrnong area in the next couple of weeks. what defines best to me is a place with friendly service, and a cheap/ reasonable price and turn around time for getting stuff fixed or serviced. i drive a R33 GTS-4 thanks for your input!

bump, only need front gtr hubs

Also, how much would you sell them for
-
Would you happen to know if I got those hubs off you, I could just get some GTS-T rotors and brakes? Would they fit okay?

Hi there, Like the subject says, I'm after GTR front hubs, rotors and brakes to do a 5 stud conversion on my R33 GTS-4, since GTS-T ones won't fit on it. Please contact me with a quote by replying or inboxing if you have them for sale. I will be pretty quick to reply. Thanks! Located in Melbourne CBD

Because they're still worth a bit, I found a little information about the AFM so you can try fix the old one Clean your afms - take them out, spray liberally with brake cleaner. Then, resolder the PCB joints: if you look at the afm as it sits in the car, there's a big black square box bit on top of the AFM - facing you - the connector plugs into the side of this. This is the bit where the AFM pcb sits. It's filled with black silicon. Cut around the edges (carefully) with a sharp knife and remove the block of silicon. You'll then see the PCB with solder joints to the connector plug - these break down with age. Resolder them, and replace the silicon block with a dab of fresh black silicon goo.

Oh awesome! Let me know how it turns out I have a spare one from my old Series I GTS so I might switch it over and test for myself
