My Girlfriend has a 32 that has a lot of trouble starting on cold days. If anyone has had the same problem could you please let me know what was done to fix it. The car takes many attempts to make it fire and when it does, it splutters and farts and finally goes, revving high for a while after. I have cleaned the modules on the "J" pipe (cold start or idle motors??) to no avail. Any help appreciated.

Hey guys! Have had a guy offer me $ for my old AVS5's in there new black hue, and the hunt is on yet again for another set of rims for my 33. Found these after a quick search on Google...thanks for the info adam! It would seem that these are to suit 350z, does anyone know of these rims, or simerlar...(drifteks in 18's maybe) that will have the correct offset for the 33 GTS-T?...these are called Rota P45R's... bugger, just checked price...$900 per set of 4 happens to be in US $...it did seem too good to be true...

Adam! What are those rims called in those pics mate? They are choice! oh, and the Federal rubber is a neat touch...can you tell us what they are called and where I might hunt down a set for my 33 GTS-T?... Dont mean to steal the thread, but just saw them and had to know!
-
Hypers for sure mate....coming from a guy with black rims on a white car! I like the darker rim look, it sets a great contrast to the car. Cant wait to see the pics with your new rims on!

Resprayed My Wheels Yesterday. Pics/write Up Inside.
AD2AV1 replied to Lukaz's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Damn! Thats a trip! I have done the same thing with exactly the same rims on my white 33. Gloss black and all....and I can vouch for the fact that it looks horn! Nice work in the back yard, I had mine done professionally because I dont have the equipment yet, but you finish looks nice too. Would love to see your rims under your car, the only downside is they catch tyre shine and dust real easy! -
Looks awesome Simon! A testimate to what the correct offset and style of rim will achieve over the "bigger is better" attitude.
-
Definatly add some other body mods as I think the trust bar will sit lower than the rest of the car. It may take on that "snow-plough" look.
-
I have just picked up my rims from being painted gloss black, wanted powdercoat but the twat that blasted my rims used a coarse grade garnet and pitted my rims. The shop then used body filler to smooth off the imperfections making the rims unsuitable for powdercoating. So, two pack black it is.... The complete process cost $55 per rim, although this does depend on size and complexity of design. Oh, and Im in Mildura...a fair way from the city.

Having dramas with an R32 drivers door window not working properly. I have the glass out and all seems to work fine now,(going up and down) but it seems as tho the motor on the door doesnt know when to stop. I cant see any limit switches, how does the lil motor in the door know when to stop at the windows extremes? My motor reaches the top and bottom of its travel and doesnt shut off....any ideas??
-
Hey Guys, I have a prob with my girlfriends drivers side window. After lowering the window last night, the window will now not go up again. The motor still runs and lowers the window, (when raised by pulling up on the glass with the door trim off.) But it seems that the motor jams when the switch is pushed to raise. It also doesnt stop the motor when it reaches the top and bottom of its travel. If anyone has encountered this before please let me know what you did to fix it. HELP!

Nice work mate! Unique. I have the blue 5LED globes and none of mine work atm....they come on randomly but I havent had a full cluster in ages! Cobalt gauge selection tops it off. I wouldnt go changing steering wheel, I like the stock one, besides, jus as an example, here in Mildura I hear of people being done for not having an impact material on their wheels and replacing the airbag is a big no-no. Ur call tho. Do I see AVS rims under your car?? Once again, great to see individual tastes and ideas, even if they arnt everyones cup of tea!

R33 Gtr- How Would You Make It Look Tuff?
AD2AV1 replied to drifter 33's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
I'd love a set of WORK Emotion CRs for my 33 GTS-t, but for the front offset looking a bit strange...I envy GTR's! To the guys after cheap alternative rims....try powdercoating/painting the ones you have....I have 17x8/17/9 AVS rims that were a decayed pearl white (on white car). They looked ok, just hard to keep clean, so, sighting an obvious fund shortage, I compromised. I want a set of gloss black Drift-teks...but my AVS's share the same measurements...so I got them painted black. I will get them back in a week or so, will post pics soon. The change of colour cost me $220! Beats the arse out of spending 10 times that amount, and at that price you can experiment with colour and enjoy, even if only for a short time, a different look! -
Hey Niran, I was a victim of a rock thrower too...(it happens everywhere) I was fortunate enough...but he wasnt...to have caught the perpitrator, seconds after the rock was thrown with a piece of down-change and handbrake work that I am still proud of!! After a short wait, I recieved cash from the guy after I provided him with a quote from a local panel shop. I am lucky enough to have my car still in a standard colour (white), so not long after recieving $830 odd dollars from this piece of snot, I rang around some import wreckers and found that an empty door, emptied of all electrics, glass and trim was going to cost $110+$11 freight! Boooyya! Time to respray that chipped front bar, change rim colour and cut and polish the whole car!!! Moral of the story-->Check out wreckers for a new 2nd hand door, it will end up cheaper if you can find the same colour. ..oh, and be handy with your handbrake!

R33 Gtr- How Would You Make It Look Tuff?
AD2AV1 replied to drifter 33's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
QIK-GTR and Paul, ur cars look sensational! Top marks for retaining the standard form, your attention to detail is exceptional. Ganadors should have been a factory option! QIK, use of carbon, black and choice of rims are spot on, and it looks asthough it retains a ride height that practical. Paul, great choice of rim, dished is always a winner. Top marks to both cars not having stupidly sized chromes, ludicrusly low ride heights or the full compliment of e-bay sticker kits. -

What if owning this car meant putting up with a few stickers? Although I am getting off the topic here, these are 34s...maybe the later would suit you better? -

GTR's r tough as, dont go overboard with it. What colour is it? The right coloured choice of rims, lowering job, window tint and an exhaust that grawls and looks race and you have a sweet looking package! On the other hand you could go crazy as Japs tend to do....this car is Perfection! -
Starting A New Trend - R34 Wings On R33.
AD2AV1 replied to Spunky Munky's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Love the above pic of the 34 GTR wing on the silver 33...that looks horn!!! Either the GTR wing as pictured, or the GT style imo. Maybe those handy with photoshop could help you out Kevin?? -
I 2nd and 3rd the Jap on Jap look!...sounds a bit like porn really doesnt it?!

I have 17x8.5" fronts with 235/45/17's and 17x9.5" rears with 255/40/17's, no rolled gaurds, no scrubbing, but a fair amount of negative camber. This is on a 33 btw, believe the rims are +30 offset. (AVS 5's) Talk to your local wheel and tyre joint, if they are switched on they should be able so answer all of your questions.
-
Although Im not a fan of such huge rims on a Skyline, there is a few things to watch out for when making your choice. When searching for tyres for my previous cars, (in 20") I found that there were plenty of cheap tyres to suit, looking closer, the load rating which should be marked on the sidewall of all tyres somewhere, was suited to, eg: A hyundai excel. Police in my area had a field day on people, defecting them for the wrong load rating for their particular car. Besides this check that your insurance company will allow such a modification in the event of a claim.....most wont. Legally, at least in Victoria, we are only allowed to exceed our rolling diameter of the standard tyre and wheel package by 25mm. And I believe wheel diameter may only grow 2" above standard. (R33=16" Stock, therefore 18" max allowed) Much of my information comes from local police here in Mildura. I used to work in a autobarn store and organised many cruises soley for imports in an effort to create a better scene/image, during this I worked with police to clarify legality on these issues, including wheel choice, as so many people were defected for wheel choice alone. All said I stand corrected, as police dont write the rules and rules may vary from place to place. All considered, besides the looks point of view there isnt a lot going for 20's on a 33, but if you do go ahead with it, as mentioned in an above post, the correct ride height, shocks/or settings, and extemely skinny tyres for the diameter of the rim is required....oh, and keep your stockies in the shed. Hope this helps....

Can Anyone Tell Me What Kit This Is?
AD2AV1 replied to AD2AV1's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Whyte, is this white car pictured yours? if so would you happen to have pics of the side skirts too? Assuming they too are "Abflug"? -
Looks awesome mate, top marks, great to see something different!
-
Hey guys! Can anyone accuratley identify this kit for me? Its on my girlfriends car and is dodgey as!!! Not fitted correctly, cracking and held on in some places by its previous owner by self tappers.....it needs to be replaced. Any infomation about this kit and where to get another on will be much apprecated, cause I cant talk her into another style of kit.

Using R32 Ecu In R33 Yet Retaining Vct And Idle Control
AD2AV1 replied to nigelswazi's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
From memory, doesnt the 32 ECU have a trimpod on the side of it to control its idle speed? Also, I just had a dyno session yesterday and found that leaving the VCT unplugged gained me around 10kW and made my torque curve much stronger and smoother without any real hesitation down low, Im no longer a fan of VCT. 215.4kW @ rears on stock 33 turbo seals those thoughts for me.
