R32 Gtst Rb20 Idles Ok Revs To 4k And Backfires?
niran replied to ahh30two's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yo man this happened to me, what mods are you running on your car?. what you can do is, first clean afm like said above, then check coil packs for any cracks, then make sure all spark plugs are good, and have got the proper gapping.. If it still doesn’t work and if your car has a decent amount of mods, change the fuel pump.. i had the same problem a week or so back, where my car would hit 3.8k-4.2k and start back firing very loud and the car wouldn’t go, so i put a gtr fuel pump in and it fixed the problem so it could be a fuel pump issue Good luck man niran -
hey guys, thank's every one for the help. i changed my fuel pump to a GTR one and so far hasnt come up yer, but will let you know.. but hopefully that was the problem thanks niran
-
hey mate, thats what i was thinking too. maybe i will do that and just borrow some and see if it fixes it.you reckon it could also just be the stock R32 gts-t fuel pump? dying out because off the other mods?

Hey everyone the problem I have I think is something to do with the ignition. Last night i attended the Vic bush fire cruise in Perth, and i hit rev limiter but didn’t stay on it for long and changed gear, however after that my car is popping really bad and it kind of struggles and looses power at times, this happens between the rev range off 3400rpm-5000rpm and then usualy clears out but then i can’t go past 6000rpm coz it just keeps bouncing off like a rev limiter would, however at these rpm’s the noise it makes is louder than normal and a lot of people said it sounded as if it had antilag( trying to put it in content to describe it better ), as time went by it got worse and worse so i decided to drive it home, while it kept miss firing like that, but just dropped into a higher gear and kept at about 2500rpm and drove it slowly. Today i took it for a drive and it seemed fine, until the car warmed up and again bang bang bang, in every gear around the same rev ranges, so i took off the air flow meter and cleaned it, also took the coil packs off and cleaned them and inspected them for any crack's or something out of the ordinary. After that i checked my spark plugs and changed them, just to make sure it wasn’t them (gapped at 0.8), i took it for another drive and still the same problem keeps occurring. it’s become a bit worse now as even now on idle it’s miss firing, where before idle and in neutral it didn’t seem to happen. Does anybody know what else it could be? or what else i could check? Could it be because my ecu i have is stock, and still hasn’t been chipped and retuned for the mods i have? This issue only started last night, its never happened before and I’ve been running the stock ecu with those mods for about 2 months.. The car is a R32 Gtst with the standard Rb20det The mods i have on the car at the moment are - Pod Filter - VG30 turbo (single turbo version) - FMIC - 3 inch exhuast - Stock ECU and thats about it for performance wise. Any help appreciated. Thanks alot, niran

Full Guide On Installing The Vg30 Turbo To A Rb20
niran replied to niran's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
hey man the turbo is going good, I just need to tune it now so it’s a more responsive, and to get the most out of it. If you are situated in Perth, you can either try on here, or where i got mine from which was KYP niran -
i'll definatly come down for this one

Hey mate, i would go the alpine the reason being i always find them to have a better menu and more options and features with the settings. They are also known to be a better brand. but then again that my opinion.. niran

hey guys, some one also said if the CAT has collapsed it can cause boost problems is that true?
-
hey mate, yer the windows where up, yer man im not sure aye my stock rb20 turbo got more wheel spin then the vg30 is at the moment
-
hey mate, that was my first idea, but then. the info i got where they said full boost was from 2800rpm-3200rpm they where all used in rb20's.. yer but isnt the rb25 a tad smaller then vg30? coz they say the rb25 and vg30 is litrely the same
-
Hey every one. I was reading through some of the topics on here on the VG30 single turbo and they all state that full boost kicks in at 2800-3200rpm. However mine kicks in above 3500rpm-4000rpm. The car I have is a R32 with the stock RB20. the mods i have are: Front mount intercooler Pod and CAI VG30 plastic/ceramic wheel ball bearing turbo 3 inch exhaust AVCR Stock R32 ECU I have uploaded a video so you can see the revs vs boost, it’s in bar, it hits about 0.85 bar. The VG30 also is using the standard rb20 turbo's actuator as everyone said the VG30 actuator is no good, hence the reason why it hits around 0.85 bars. The link is : http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=TqtF4yWCAkU i just wanted to know whether this is to laggy for the vg30 or is this ok? Also what could be the reasons why it is so laggy? is there anything i should check to see whether something is restricting it, i also don’t feel much pull, after taking it to a workshop they said it should pull much more harder on boost. Thanks every one. niran
-
hey mate how are you going? its a good turbo set up and it pull's hard, i have a r32 gtst 1992 s2 and i had to change my bango bolts to bigger ones that fit the turbo. i did this a couple of month ago on my car, i wrote a DIY heres the link: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Fu...tml&hl=vg30 if you need any help or info let us know mate niran

hey everyone i have installed an AVCR into my car today, but I don’t know how to actually tune the device properly and what the settings need to be. I want to run at the moment 12 psi because i am going to book it in for a tune after i get the gtr fuel pump and injectors installed. The car is a R32 Gts-t, the following modifications done to the car are: - 3inch Xforce exhaust - Vg30 single turbo (ball bearing) - Standard ECU - FMIC - Pod Filter has any one got experience with setting this unit up? And if so can someone help me? Also i just wanted to know what did most people run, or what is better to use.. The Injector sensor or RPM sensor, which will give me more use of the unit? And what does most people use on Sky aus? Any help appreciated. Thanks niran
