Hey every one Alright so I've gone to pits and got my sticker renewed until the 29th of this month, ive found someone to install the engine and gearbox. However does anybody know of any places where I could get the tail shaft cut and aligned again? Cheers, Niran

agreed, nah didnt see the signs just yet i acutally work near here too, however when i was driving i saw them installing it today. I think its a speed camera, wasnt able to get a shot off it from the front will do next time i go to work

hey everyone I thought i would show you guys this. I was just driving today down leach hwy and i saw this on the intersection off leach hwy and north lake road. I’m not too sure whether it’s a red light camera or/and if it also has a speed camera attached to it.. Has anyone else seen any off these being put up around Perth ?

Ok guys So im pretty sure I've now got the half cut sorted also found a place to do installation, however im just unsure about a thing or two. When i go over pits once again do i declare that i have done and engine conversion? Also what happens with the Vin Number and engine number? Another question I had was which may be a bit off a stupid question however would i need to change the brakes and rotors as im going for a larger engine or would pits even notice the difference if any? Final question i had was when i do get this engine registerd in pits is there a fee i must pay? Thanks guys, you've all been great help Niran

Yer that’s all good they didn’t ask for that to be tested Haha! good plan man might try that ;-) Hey bud Um yer i found a guy that can install it all for a good price so i might just buy a half cut and do it all at once, the reason for this is because I’m on uni break so once i start uni again just won’t have the time. but i will go to pits and just get a list of everything else that is wrong and at the same time get an extension, then get the engine conversion done, then go over pits again with everything fixed Yer not that easy mate Agreed

hey man Thanks for that, the reason i wasn’t going to bother was because i don’t have the reverse gear in the box.. however i do remember last time i went they only tell you to put it in the gear just to see if the reverse lights come on but i don’t want to risk it.. i will ring up all the workshops on Monday if i don’t have that amount of money to do the conversion anytime soon, i will return everything to stock and go over. hey dude, i will go have a talk to the pit guys on Monday morning.. problem is however the cops didn’t give me weeks, they gave me 5 days which now is 4 days so its pretty stupid.. Not like i can get much done in such a short time span Oh really dam, i think the reason why they asked so much was because they had to get the tail shaft custom made and a few bits and pieces. Agreed, i don’t mind if it was 1.5 k or close to 2 k but 4 k is more than what they asked for the half cut so not much point. Hmm i don’t have a second car that’s another problem, however i am on uni break now so have 3 months holidays so not to much of a concern to not have the car on the road in a hurry.. i was going to do it at home but dad doesn’t want to get the house garage dirty. I will defiantly ring up some more places on Monday get some prices. Cheers guys, Niran

Hey everyone Went on a cruise on Friday night and got pulled by the cops and was given the whole talk and then yellowed for having a car to loud. That fair enough because that’s just simply removing parts going over pits and passing.. However the problem is i have been planning on doing the rb25 conversion in the next month or so to come.. i can’t go over pits at the moment because I have no reverse gear and also got and have a fair few parts I have to fix. What i wanted to know was am i able to go to pits and get an extension saying I’m going to be doing the conversion very soon and can i have an extension or should i just un-rego my car and then go to pits once the conversion is done? Another question i have and hence why i have put this in the WA section is that i am buying the half cut from ben at kyp however to install he is asking 4k (that’s without the half cut). When i went to Japanese performance center and they said that it should cost about 1k for installation at a garage.. so just wondering does anybody know where i could ring up? Thanks everyone Niran

Hey man Don’t quote me on this as i don’t own a car with a SR engine however my cousin does own a 180sx with a black top in it... if i remember correctly I recall him saying the compression rate on the sr20 (when a fresh engine) is around the 150 in each cylinder and that he’s was around the 140 mark across the cylinders. So what you’re getting is expected if it’s an untouched engine from factory. Again don’t quote me as I’m not someone who would know the exact compression rates on a sr20.

Hey guys.. What color do you reckon i should powder coat the rims.. i was thinking matt black or a satin black. I’ve uploaded a photo of my car as i don’t know if powder coating the rims that color would suit my car..What do you guys think? If not what color you guys think would suit best?

Hey man um he wanted 3.2k for the half cut and then about 3 k for installation.. so i think I’m going to end up buying the half cut off him and then doing then the conversion myself.

Hey man Thanks for that i will send him a pm now and see what he says i was thnking of maybe painting them matt black if any colour.. as my car is that charcole grey/gunmetal grey colour. I see, thanks for that i had no idea the rims.. do you reckon it would be easier for me to just buy the front too again brand new, but i don’t know if they even sell them any more? . maybe i will look around some more rim repairers try get a cheaper price on the front two. i think im just going to go matt black if i do end up painting them.. Hey every one the run down is that i got some rims for cheap as the guy selling them didn't have the time to fix them. They are 17 by 8 and 17 by 9 and have buckles in them. Three out of the four rims are damaged and need to be fixed.. i got a price for them to be fixed through Alliance Rim Repairs which was $130.00 Each however they stated that the original color of the rim cannot be matched and that specific colour is from Japan only. I dont know about the idea that its only avaible in Japan, so basically my question is does anyone know who i could take these rims to get them painted/powder coated that same color.. a picture off my rims are below.. its a goldy/bronze colour Also I only gave them my rear rim as the other rear rim had no damage so I thought id let them fix one rim first and see how it goes.. While I wait does anybody know any other places that do a good Job as Alliance does? That I could try out. Thanks, Niran

Hey man , if i go ahead doing it myself then ill try also put some photos up off a DIY. there is already one in that section but like you said i could always add to it and help other people who are thinking about this as an option hey man yep i will defiantly go and get it done at a proper place for the tale shaft as it has to be balanced and welded again to the yoke.. for the electrical side however i will get both(rb20 and rb25) ecu pin out diagrams and be using the rb25 ecu and rb25 . whereas for the parts where some wiring needs to be changed ill try it out myself and see how it goes.
