  2. Anyone know anything about this? Monday 29-Sep-2008 (1635 hrs CST) Speeding driver arrested – Alice Springs A man caught driving at almost 120 kilometres per hour over the speed limit has been arrested in Alice Springs this afternoon. Just after 1.30pm a police patrol heading inbound on Larapinta Drive near Diarama Village clocked on on-coming car at 179 kilometres per hour in a 60 zone. Police did a u-turn to apprehend the driver and he was arrested near Battarbee Street. When asked why he was driving his Toyota Supra at that speed he told police he was in a hurry to get home. The 21-year-old is expected to be charged with driving at a dangerous speed, recklessly endangering life and exceeding the speed limit by more than 45 kilometres per hour. http://www.pfes.nt.gov.au/index.cfm?fuseac...y=2008&mo=9
  3. New PB on Sunday did 2 11.5 runs, my brother has posted some of the races for those who couldn't make it. 11.5 v Bowen Burnout v Baney v Stainer - my worst run of the day! v Cole
  4. Dan good topic, my BNR32 setup 303kw - Full exhaust, min 3" from turbo's right back to rear end. Much gain from 4" at this power? 3-3.5'' after stock dumps - Injectors, 600's? 700s? Sard 700cc, essential - Airbox is fine with panel filter (prefer this option for safety unless there is huge gains to be made from pods but then I'll build/get an enclosure) pods in box for me, probably not required - Turbo's 2860r-5's 16psi - Standard cooler is fine but getting to it's limit at this power? slightly bigger ARC, probably not required - Are coil packs required? Splitfire, would say essential unless using new stock - Boost controller Blitz SBC-R - Full ECU, most of you guys run PFC's, anything else worth going for? PFC works for me, still has the occasional hiccup - Excellent tuning - Happy to go to Melb (3hrs for me) for this and see Ben at Race Pace Would say this is the most essential thing on your list - Cam gears, not required from what I know but useful stock - Fuel Pump or Reg or both? Sard in tank, essential - Oil cooler not required but good for the standard bottom end. stock - Upgraded oil pump required? N1 pump - Sump baffle or oil control required? Sump baffle & restrictor Mine had a stock rebuild with only the last 2 items changed from factory in 2006.
  5. currently testing some 205's that came on my secondhand standard rims from Jap Imports. Until next week when I get my Mickey Thompson's fitted to fix my traction problems at the drags. Jordan, what car are driving now?
  6. ...word. More Power! Not enough corners to worry about in Alice. BK has laptop & Power FC software now and might look at other cars. For suspension a Hicas lockbar, strut brace or front swaybar may do the trick. Some bushes can be hard to fit. Me personally, I would fit skinny tyres to stock rims on the rear and enjoy
  7. Anyone see this in the Advocate Public Notices? 'nissmo pulsar'
  8. Geez the Darwin forums have been going well the last few weeks, thought I'd post a Alice drag update. Ben was quickest qualifier in Super Street and ran a few 11.0 runs, came so close to cracking a 10. I ran 3 11.8 runs on the final day and I definately have reached the limits of my skinny 235, bald street tyres. My new Mickey Thompson's turned up in time but my rims didn't. So I will have to wait till the next meeting on the 21st to try them out. In Street class I think Chris got a low 13 and Steve a 15. It was great to see all the interstate guys come to the meet. Lots of impressive cars and team setups.
  9. Not many imports again, but big crowds. Just the orange supra, 300zx and myself showed up I think. Had lots of people looking at, taking photos and asking questions about the Datto. Anyone get any better shots?
  10. Pinksta and myself were the only imports at the drags all day. We both beat our old times, the track was very consistent and sticky early in the day. BK turned up late in the arvo after spark plug problems and did a 11.1 straight up. I will be at the car show all day tomorrow, see you there.

  12. Yep can't wait to smoke some more tyres and maybe get some better times. CADRA update today, seems its going to be a short meet. Must be to allow for cars to get ready for the show 'n' shine.
  13. You may have seen the ad on Tv already and no entries don't close on the 8th or 11th. Entries for the Sunday 27th show 'n' shine close on the 18th, I confirmed this with John from Shannons who is running the event. [email protected] or 0417 262 918 Drag Racing is on Saturday 26th running as a street meet $40 entry. Details still to be finalised. http://www.cadra.com.au/ Have attached all info I have received so far. So who is coming? 26th_Drags_Nomination_Form.pdf 2008_Motoring_Extravaganza_Flyer.pdf ENTRY_FORM.doc LETTER_To_Shannons_Clients.doc
  14. " Central Australian Drag Racing Association sadly regrets the sudden passing of our founding member, Alan "Big Al" Stainer, the voice of Alice Springs Motor Sports. Alan was the driving force for a decades long push to build Central Australia's permanent quarter mile drag strip. Alan devoted all of his spare time and energy to local motorsports, including off-road, the Finke desert race, speedway and drags. Most of his time went to drag racing, and he saw his dream come true a few months ago with the opening of Alice Springs Inland Dragway. Alan, we expect you'll have the perfect quarter mile ready for racing when we join you in our time. Goodbye to the Big Top Hat! We'll all miss you. "
  15. 1 each now! Will have to see how we go on the Shannons Drag day on the 26th
  16. Always bringing the good stuff James I had a average days racing on sunday, BK got better with a 11.3 at least. Gave it everthing in 3rd gear on the last few runs and won the burnout comp
  17. '32GTR' 1/4 11.930, 60':1.765, MPH: 115.20, 235/40/18" Zeetex Street Tyres, 98 BP Ultimate Alice Springs Inland Dragway
  18. Jesse 98 BP Ultimate is available in Alice Springs at $1.90 from 2 outlets at the moment. Last time I went to Uluru the Mobil only had 95 premium and all the stops on the way. Unsure of prices. Quality can be dicey at some of the roadhouses, but we have no problems in Alice. There are 3 BNR32's, 2 BCNR33's & several other skylines/imports around Alice. Most of us run pod's and have no problems with air/fuel filters. Usual service intervals. Some have found dyno readings here to be lower than when tuned interstate due to being higher above sea level. In my case Adelaide=407hp Alice=382hp @ back wheels. We seem to get less attention from the police & rta/mvr than interstate which is a bonus. Drags are held monthly http://www.cadra.com.au/ and we have a Shannons car show on July 26-7th coming up. Sure we can find you a B&S style 5 post bullbar and aerials for the GT-R to get you in the spirit. Ozzy
  19. Was good to finally get into the 11's on Sunday Looking foward to next week Well done BK on the 11.6, proven fastest genuine street car in Alice!!!
  20. Ozzy? You in? Be good to nail some times in without worrying about qualifications or what? Cause this is mainly a screw around day. As i've heard?... Definately! Hope to get both cars out. GT-R is getting some maintenance this week and the Datto is getting a B&M line lock fitted
  21. Thanks Will call later in the week about a copy of the dvd
  22. um ozzy just a question bro, what was the air fuel ratio on your datsun? Dyno Sheets attached. Was a great night!!! James did the vid turn out of the Datto?
  23. Well done Craig, James & Fab. Good results!!! Had a ordinary meeting myself but looking foward to the 15th.
  24. Sounds good How long does a run usually take? Will be a early start for the next morning for the drags, wouldn't mind getting there around 8am.
