  1. Neither paul or jake actually, i cant remember his name, a young guy Gorban or something (it was an unusual name) nice guy and knew what he was on about. the guys at envy are always really helpful, thats who ive ordered my pump and reg from. are you running std computer?
  2. Thats what i like to hear ill be very happy if i get anything over 200rwkw but 230 is just awesome! well i pick up my new pump and reg tomorrow so hopefully ill fit it all after work and see what i get on the dyno.
  3. I think thats pretty normal if you have other mods, like exaust filter, cooler etc. i found that with my boost controler completely removed i could get up to 0.8bar displayed on my aftermarket boost gauge. yours sounds pretty normal. i wouldnt worry
  4. steve: 230rwkw is awesome! are these guys running std computer? i hope i can acheive that sort of power! Nissky: Procar is in Cromer (northen beaches) the guys there are really nice too, i had never been there until recently on a dyno day. then booked it in last week and was suprised how cheap they were! so i dont mind making changes and getting it back on there. But they dont burn chips for ECU's so i need to find a good place that does.
  5. yeah well like i said the reg has already been ordered so i will be running it, i figured if it was easy to upgrade injectors when getting the ECU tuned i could grab some 2nd hand GTR injectors as ive seen them advertised on this forum pretty cheap. Ill see what i can get out of the pump with regulator first then maybe tune the ECU. Problem is ive already gone over budget and dont want to spend anymore!!! NOOOOOO but hey its addictive!
  6. if im getting the ECU tuned can i run bigger injectors then? say maybe some GTR injectors or something? whats the easiest and cheapest option when it comes to injector upgrade with tuned ECU? I mean its a not a huge turbo so i wouldnt be expecting more than 320rwhp out of it... so what would enable me to safely run 300rwhp (220rwkw)? or will my stockies be able to SAFELY handle such power?
  7. Redline gtr: im not sure who will tune it at this stage. ive ben getting it the dyno runs at Procar - they are reasonable at $45 for a power run... and about $65 an hr to have A/F tuned... gts-v-spec: yeah i was considering the drive there yeah well ive already ordered pump and regulator so ill throw it in on monday night and get her back on the dyno and see what happens. if it still cuts out then im going to sell the SAFCII and chip it instead (bugger because i only put the SAFC in 2 days ago! gggrrrr) anyone interested in it? only about 2hrs use thanks for the instalation info Nissky Oh and does anyone know a good place in Sydney to have the ECU tuned?
  8. haha dont worry im not driving it above 4000rpm and ive dropped the boost to std! thanks for the concern guys. yeah i think i will get the computer tuned. Chris, im very happy with it so far... once i get the other problems sorted i think it will be shredding all those idiots in WRX's and commodores (even tho it already did, now just rubs it in a little more) hehe
  9. no the engine completely cuts out... so when im driving on the road i have the foot planted and then at around 5500rpm it just cuts out as if i took my foot completely off. its very sudden. its pulling hard then all of a sudden NOTHING.
  10. i didnt stop it, it cuts out because its running too lean... i think it needs a fuel cut defender or something. yeah i was hoping to make 300rwhp on stock injectors. yeah i was contemplating whether to ditch the SAFC and chip it...
  11. Ok well i finished installing my turbo the other night and got it on the dyno... here are the results. The turbo is a HKS 2530, i was running 10psi boost for this run. It seems i need a fuel cut defender, and really need to upgrade fuel pump and reg from the standard crap ones i got. what will be the max power std injectors can push? what do you think my car will make once ive changed pump and reg? (i am running a std computer with injectors, but havee installed an SAFCII) i dont want to fork out for a complete computer. I know this turbo's efficiency range is something like 1.2bar - 1.5 or something. i would like to run around 1.1-1.2bar if possible with new pump and reg. any suggestons, ideas or info to improve its current state would be great. heres the print out.
  12. Ok well ive just installed my SAFC II and setting up has all gone to plan except for the knock sensor bit... i did the two rpm settings and got: 61 - 1600rpm 63 - 3550rpm now when im at idle and on display mode, the knock displays between 4-6 but as soon as i give any more revs than 1000rpm it goes to 0 and stays at 0 all the way to redline... Now im not sure what this means, whether the car is absolutely magic and has no knock at all (i highly doubt it) or if its stuffed any info would be great! thanks.
  13. I dont seem to find mine ever bogging down, when it hits full boost it goes hard all the way to cut out. well ive booked some dyno time this friday. so ill let you know how it all goes.
  14. OVL-747... i have heard this before but get confused. i always though 14psi would be 14psi regardless of the type of turbo as pressure is pressure ie psi = pounds per square inch so regardless of what is producing that pressure it is infact the same pressure (does this make sense?) however i do understand a bigger turbo will produce that equal pressure but the air will be much cooler. and cooler air is more dense... so when ppl tell me that my turbo is producing the same pressure but pushing more air is that what they mean?
  15. well im running an aftermarket dump, so it should flow pretty easy. but yeah sounds like the same problem as u joel. just cuts out all of a sudden. lag isnt too bad actually, it can reach 1 bar at about 3700rpm. its noticable that boost doesnt pull as early as stock, but when it does kick in you really know about it. im very impressed with the turbo, just need to sort out this cut problem. maybe upgrade fuel pump too.
  16. yeah i still havent hooked it up yet, so any advice would be great! I have done a bit of work to my car, but not much in the way of electronics. so any help would be much appreciated.
  17. yeah when it cuts out i mean it completely cuts out. like under full load its pulling really hard then all of a sudden nothing... as if i took my foot off the accelerator. it doesnt "die out" as such, it just cuts out very suddenly.
  18. Hey im looking for some advice Last night i installed a HKS2530 with 3" dump on my R32. The turbo works a treat it pulls so much harder than the standard but i find at around 6,000rpm the engine cuts out completely. it really freaked me out. I am running the same boost as i was with the std turbo (1bar). So i decided to remove the bleed valve completely. it doesnt stall as often at high rpm, but i do find the boost tends to creep above the 0.7bar... somtimes almost to 1bar. *note: i am running a completely std computer. so i have a few questions: 1: would the cut out be a fuel cut or something else? 2: is boost creep normal? it never happened with the std turbo. 3: even if i run standard boost is it possible for the car to run lean? does more dense air need more fuel? any advice/info would be great! ...Meggala... anyone? thanks Ben. . . .

  20. Hey! Im really keen to get my hands on a 2nd hand HKS 2530 with T3 flange to fit an R32 GTS-T. If anyone has one or knows someone selling one. please let me know. cheers. Ben.
  21. Hey im in the same position as you! and i cant get this ecu diagram of meggala's site... did you have any luck or does anyone have any help. thanks!
  22. to be honest i dont want to skimp on my fuel supply so i dont mind going new - ie bosch. but exactly what is it that i need to modify to fit? i was planning on doing it myself. and if 044 is over kill. what would you recomend from the bosch series?
  23. Hey ive done a search on upgrading my RB20's fuel pump and come up with a few mentions of the bosch 040 and 044. I understand these are internal pumps fitting the same position as the std pump. Im not too familiar with their flow capabilities and what is best for my application. what other suggestions would you guys have for around 200 - 220rwkw RB20? and whats the best type of regulator to get in combination with this setup?
