Oooo o.k. no permission to view that one Burnie, must be due to not being a paid WA memeber I assume? Oh well, will see whoever's heading up next w.e. then. Wes -
As title says, who's going? I know of 3 other skylines.

Yep, gonna be my wheel nut bitch again Brendah?! Might let u take the big girl out for a lap or 2 if ya good so bring you helmet. Will be running the street wheel/tyre set-up tomorrow, so there'll be no lap times broken Too lazy to change em over for a half day track day.... and hung over. Bringing the HQ out for a few laps now you have your new shockies n brakes sorted? Looking fwd to it.

I say book it in and commit to a tuning date - that way you will have something to aim for and force you to do some late nights Jared Booked and payed for me powercruise tix last week. Yewwwwphhhhhh can't wait! Wes

Yep the R888'S are in a different class altogether however the Street Class which I will enter rules them out unfortunately......A guy I met up at Wanneroo a few months back was running fresh 123's said he had previously run the Fed 595RSR's and found them to be of similar performance at the track. This has got me curious about trying them as I was pleasantly surprised at the performance verse cost of my current Achillies ATR Sports which I run on the street. Wes
-
I'm on my second set of Achillies "ATR Sports" for street duties in my R and would recommend people give them a go before commentting. This particular Achillies model is good value for money IMO and I've a few friends who'd agree. I've no bad stories to report about them and have even used them at a track day due to not having time to change over to my R888's on my track dedicated rims. The above is based on a particular Achillies model, so don't confuse them with other models. Will probly try the "Achillies 123" at some stage as have had some positive feedback about these also. Wes

Rb26 Oil Control On Circuits
Wesley James R32GTR replied to djr81's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Not sure why you couldn't still run the top mount air separator as my mate does and his has the mines rocker cover baffles fitted up? Shaun at Allstar Garage re-tuned it this morning for us. He put the initial tune in it (435 rwhp) and couldn't have been happier over the last few yrs with the way it has run. Re-tune today ended up with 487rwhp at 22psi so hopefully htis doesn't create any breathing issues. Will see next w.e. at the next tuning day I spose. I didn't mention previously and probly should have (as it may effect the intentions of this thread) but my engine has been opened up and is running new rods, pistions bearings, tomei oil pump etc so has had a freshen up. This may be why it runs without alot of the oil breathing probs many guys have when tracking their cars. I do run a tomei head oil restrictor (not sure on size but can confirm if need be) which I believe goes someway towards helping eliminate oil starvation probs and also feel it must do something towards engine breathing probs (lets not get started on the debate) with the work my car does at the track at it's current tune. Yeah have done a few timed events this year and last such as one of the no limits nights, a HSV club day (dont ask) with a few other skyline boys and many many WASCC tuning days. Have my own timing set-up, so get that out regularly to make sure were making progress Plan on doing the next regularity event the WASCC holds as these are good events that force you to pick a time in which you have to try consitently meet. Yeah look I don't run the cam cover baffles in mine either but use the top mount oil air separator which seems to be working well for me without an additional catch can. About to wind a bit more power into her so will see if that changes things wrt breathing which I dare say it might. Wes -

Interested in this Earls fitting part number also. djr81 if your still looking for someone over in the West to help you out with your squirty motor, I'm happy to chat and advise on my set-up. I run a Tomei pump and do lots or laps up at Waneroo and have done for a couple of yrs now with the WASCC without any dramas wrt oil breathing in my 26. Tried PM'ing you mate but think your inbox is full or something so it won't send..... Wes 0438 233 610 -
I will be there Aiden. Know of at least 2 other SAU regulars heading along. Looks like we may see some rain, which isn't the end of the world (unless aiming for lap times - although there will be no timing gear) as it's an opportunity to practice a different kind of car control. Hopefully we can all stay on the black stuff if it does rain a bit, which won't make it too painfull waiting around between runs. Wes

Yeah WASCC memebership is a yearly thing so def better off getting it at the begining of the year. We're only half way through the year so there are still plenty of opportunities to get out there yeat mate. Get a free tuning day valued at $70 included in the $330 and FYI membership drops after your first year to $270 & still includes the free tuning day. Also wrt to the CAMS license you'd only need the L2S as Matt pointed out if your going to do club level events like No limits or events organised by someone like Paul Blank at automotive events managment. This is $105 from memeory and def runs for a year from thr time of purchase. Ta for the kind words about the wagon also Chris. Hope to see you up at the track sometime. Wes

No idea Shaun, I was up there till just before 3 thrashing round and wasn't aware of anyone going into the back wall! When was it and was it a GTR or GTS-T as there were a whole bunch of Skylines out there having fun on Saturday - which was really good to see.
-
Chris everybody has to start somewhere and these WASCC tuning days are one of the best ways to do it. They're non competeitive and there's generally no attiude about when up at the track. People are generally more than happy to give advice or tips when cruising the pits. Hope to see you up there tommorrow. Come say hi if you make it. Wes

Tuning day this Saturday 14th. Heading along for some laps - anyone else planning on coming up?

Will be up on the 19th - should be good. Last use of the old KU36'S before new tyres are due.

My Ross Metal Jacket Balancer arrived this week for my RB26, quality looks right up there from what I can see. Great looking machined parts. I dealt with a very helpful lady named Inga who knew her stuff and had all the answers to my questions. $20 bucks posted to the other side of the country (I live in Perth) which wasn't bad either. Ended up costing me 100 large ones less than an equivilent (not really as this is rated to 1500hp vs 1000) ATI one. Can't wait to get it fitted up and have piece of mind now when I drag her out to over 8 grand! Highly recommend Ross Balancers so far.
