  1. just a quick correction about a misconception about the shift kits that some of us have had fitted. having a shift kit fitted will actually lower the operating temperature of an automatic box. the faster shifts may cause a little bit more wear on some components, but seeing as the gear changes are so much quicker the box will spend less time in the gear change sequence and therefore less time heating up (slipping) the clutches which is what heats up the oil. i had my kit installed at MV's and they said with S2 stageas and R34's they have to be set correctly otherwise they can upset the engine ecu by changeing gears to quickly which seems to pull the timing back to far. mine is set pretty spot on as flat out gear shifts bring on the traction control for a second and if the traction control is turned off it will chirp the tyres.
  2. here is a pic of a just jap stealth fitted.
  3. i have factory RWD or (RSV) whatever u wanna call it, series 2 and that damn sure has an LSD in the ass, i think only RWD and RS4S have them in from factory, and of course 260's. since i have gone back to stock wheels it has been great fun with the MV shift kit cranking up the boost in first and have it do massive chirpies into second. sometimes spins the wheels and makes the traction ontrol kick in and thats not fun cause it makes my car sound like a pig.
  4. i went to get a defect cleared yesterday so i could drive my car till the regency appointment date. the cop didnt even come outside to look at my car. just signed the paper and said be stuffed if im going out there if u have to go to regency anyway.
  5. u guys need to harden up, try powder coating for 8 hours a day. in a shed with a low roof and an oven that sits at 200C all day and then think about the damn white spray painters suit that lets no air in or out. add to that there can be no fans which would blow the powder around. that makes for one really hot effen day. i used to have a thermometre in the shed but it used to scare the guys i would have come in and help for an hour or so once it got up to the 80C or higher mark
  6. GT3071 SOLD G-MAX Rims SOLD
  7. well at the moment all the good gear is off my stagea due to being defected. i have for definate sale my G-MAX rims. they are 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear. not sure of offset but the fronts sat really nice under the guards but the rears protruded about 5mm. There is a bit of gutter rash on the two back rims as it just took me and the missus ages to get used to parking a bigger car with wheels that stuck out also. $1200 i currently have my highflowed GT3071 sitting in the shed, it will be going back on in a couple of weeks unless it goes to another home. it was built by Bill here in adelaide at ATS and is 6 months old and has done about 4000km running 12psi. it will come with all the lines necessary but all i will ask in return is a standard wastegate actuator as mine is modified to suit the new turbo. it has a nissan comp cover on it to help fool the police if they have a look but regency still found it. $2000 also off my car at the moment are my beloved kei office coil overs, these to will go back on my car unless sold. these are to SUIT A RWD STAGEA ONLY. i got these over from japan 2nd hand myself and had the rear shocks rebuilt by TSR over in Quensland. the fronts are 6.5kg and the backs are 5.4kg. these are height and spring rate adjustable and the fronts have camber tops. the shocks are not damper adjustable but i didn't get any bounce or saggy feeling when i had the springs set on soft or hard. $1500 please feel free to ask any questions Reduced 75% 600 x 450 (26.35K)// Reduced 82% 800 x 542 (51.62K)// Reduced 93% 2048 x 1536 (1.37MB)// Attached thumbnail(s) Reduced 93% 2048 x 1536 (1.34MB) took the stag for a bit of a drive today. im petty happy with it back in its near stock form. these items will be for sale indefinatly now. im going to drop the turbo down to $1800 and am willing to swap the coilovers for a set of lowered springs plus cash my way. my time is worth to much for me to bothered swaping and changing stuff if the cops are just out to get us import guys. rims are gone for now as a mate is picking them up to try on his BA XR6

  9. after the trouble i have had i wont ever sell the stock one. not prepared to have to find another one if i ever get re defected.

  12. just the ang the mob i brought the car from and they will certify it after i change it at a cost of $110. nissan said they would only certify it they supplied me with a (BRAND NEW) one. i politly hung up and swore afterwards
  13. wish it was that easy. even my stock turbo doesnt have a plate on it for verification. if anybody has a picture of a stock turbo that has a plate on it could they please post it up.
  14. ok so i went in today for my inspection. as i thought they did me for my turbo not to fussed about that as it is not stock and i will cop no i just have to put my old one on. the two other 2 things i got done for which im pretty pissed off about is my BOV (which is plumbed back into its original position) was classified as a defect as its not the original one. he didnt care that my old one leaked and that my car backfired all the time. the other thing im a bit suprised about is that i have to put on my old stock boost controller as having the vacume line go from the wastegate to the intercooler pipe was not good enough. the things i didnt get done for were my front mount, my 4 piston front brakes, my exhaust which funnily enough he only did by ear. now for the hillarious part. once i finish this write up im about to start removing and replacing my turbo. on my defect notice it states that i have to have an O.E.M certified report. this means that once i put the old turbo on i have to go to nissan and have them certify the turbo is the standard one. i thought that was the whole reason we take our car to get inspected. if they cant tell if it's the standard one on there how can they tell if i don't have a standard one. now i have to ring around all the nissan dealerships and see if they can do this or not.
  15. they might possibly be R32 gtst front discs or off an N/A 33
  16. ok so here goes, i have an early model series 2 and i think that might be the reason why i was able to do the convertion. i had no issue with different bolt sizes and yes people are correct that the R34 calipers do use the smaller diameter bolts but they also have a much larger disc and usualy cost twice as much. i think that with later model series 2's anything after 1999 you are most likely to need the R34 brakes. the brake lines are not a standard swap as i brought R33 braided lines and even these need to be changed. to be honest go to a wrecker like i did borrow a shagged disc and maybe put a deposit down for a loan of a calliper and just try it. u will have to modify the disc shroud or it will rub on the outside of the bigger disc. if it fits then go and buy a pair or set of callipers and some good second hand discs, go and get them machined which will cost about $100 for four. take the callipers to a place that will make up some braided lines to exactly suit your car and that will be ADR approved and Bobs your uncle. You then can then fill out a request to upgrade/modify form from ur local traffic and rego place and then u will have a legal mod that u can tell the cops to piss off if they hassle you. to be honest i read about alot people asking for advice on things that are so easily checked youself. if u cant undo or are to lazy to undo a calliper bolt and find out the diameter of what you do have then i cant imagine that you even need to do the upgrade in the first place.
  17. Thinking of getting rid of my G MAX rims off my stagea. They are 18x8.5 fronts and 18x9.5 rears. bit banged up as they stuck outside my guards and it just took me ages to get used to driving a wagon. this brand however has such a massive lip on the outside that they can easily be machined many times. not sure of the offset but they are to suit a skyline but would suit a GTR or wide bodied car the best. These have a massive dish and are a great brand. Brand new tyres on the front and a bout 60% worn on the back. Im not 100% certain if i will sell them but if someone grabs them before i make up my mind then they are gone. Asking for $1200 as these were $2800 brand new about 14 months ago
  18. hi guys as some of you know im taking the stagea to regency next week to get my defect off, well hopefully anyway. i got hold of my standard mags but i dont have the wheels nuts anymore. was just wondering that if anybody who has upgraded there wheels lately has their set laying around and would either let me borrow them or buy them if they wanted to ge rid of them. i will probably be selling my mags also as the are not really that practical on anything but a wide body skyline or GTR as they stick oustide the guards on the rear. will post them up in the for sale section.
  19. haha my bad wrong picture.
  20. I have a series 2 (RSV) stagea and i am running R33GTST front discs and 4 piston callipers. i had to modify the disc covers and i am using a 5mm wheel spacer so that the rims wouldn't rub on the calliper. u could grind off the nissan emblem and they would clear but it could possibly be the mags i have on my car.
  21. ok so i spoke to a guy who works at regency, he is the step dad of one of my mates. my brakes will be fine as long i get a request to upgrade form filled out and have some braided lines made up that have ADR approved stamps on them. as the turbo looks stock from the outside it should be ok. it still has all the original heat shields fitted and has a nissan comp cover on it. everything else but the zorst and frount mount has to go. cheers guys
  22. i still have the stock turbo and all the lines but i really dont want to change it all over cause i know i will never change it back which means somebody on here will be able to pick up a bargain. i will just change everything else back to complience state other than the exhaust and fmic and see how i go. if i have to do the turbo i will but i will try and get it through first. im glad it hasnt been in to get the nistune board yet or they would find that to.
  23. yeah mate that was me
  24. well my car is off to see u know who. i just want to know what i should get away with in regards to what i can leave on my car. S2 Stagea by the way fitted ATM front mount utilizing standard return pipe sitting neatly behind bumper but unfortunatly only one mount could be used so it moves ever so slightly. xenon globes (they are the standard item) 3 inch from the turbo back (no cat at the moment but will fit asap) pretty quite and will be quiter once cat fitted R33 front discs and callipers ( had to bend the dust covers back to fit the bigger discs and had to use braided lines ) back brakes still standard. still have standard fronts at home fully adjustable coilovers. still have standards at home upgraded sway bars shift kit (auto trans) pod filter and hard intake pipe are removed already to allow for plum back BOV to be returned now my biggest problem is my turbo. seeing as it now has a garret core in it i had to use braided lines. it still has the original nissan comp cover on it but the exhaust side looks slightly different than a standard one. cheers for any advice
