ok i have just a quick question. keep in mind my stagea is a RWD only model it has happened a couple of times. if when making a turn around a round about or an intersection etc and i hit a large bump or rut in the road with one of my rear wheels the slip light comes on gives a couple of flashes and i loose power until the light goes back off. i just want someone to explain what is happening and if i can stop it. i am pretty sure but not certain that when i turn my traction controll off it doesn't happen. i think i have read on here somewhere that that light comes on when the LSD slips but i am pretty sure there is no problem with my diff as she steps out pretty nicely under power when i ask her to.

well now i feel welcome. yeah my stag is pretty sexy. big wheels, big zorst, big tubo, big fmic and half lowered cause the stocky suspension had to go back in the rear cause of a dead coilover shock. i figured it was a big car so everything that is to go on her has to be big. just makes sense to me.

i like the idea of the alloy section cut into the original intake pipe. i have highflo GT3076 built by bill at ATS so i cant wait to put the manual box in so i can use my PFC and get the most of the mods i have done so far. should end up being pretty fun to drive being a RWD spec stagea with the suspension i have put in it so far.

yeah i totally understand what u are saying but i am using a trust airinx filter and the improvement i got when i put the hard pipe on was amazing. also i have a pretty big turbo on my car and it only started collapsing or giving me issues when i put that on and wound up the boost. i will get to putting my BOV back to plum back and see how i go with the stalling issue. any ideas on a remedy if returning it plum back doesnt solve my problem.

i have a dayz kit and would love to get that little lip extension for the front bar. anybody know how roll cages go in a daily driver, im pretty sure u will get defected for that. -
ok cheers mate. i might block it off for a day or so and see if that fixes it first and then i will have to rig up a plum back hose to the hard intake pipe. i was having massive boost issue before i put the hard pipe on so i really want to leave that on there. the stock intake pipe was collapsing under anything more than 12psi.

hi guys im having a bit of an annoying stalling problem with my car. whilst under normal slow driving conditions in back streets or pulling up to intersctions etc the car will stall on me for some reason when i come to a stop. it seems to do it most when i take my foot off the accelerator and brake just as the auto wants to change into the next gear. it never does it if the engine is given a chance to do its own braking ie if i use the gears to help me slow down. even in neutral if i give the engine a free rev to anything over about 2 1/2 grand the car will not come back to idle but will actually stall. so far i have a front mount, highflow turbo, pod filter, turbo back exhaust, greddy BOV and hard inlet pipe. the only thing i can think of is that my blow off valve is venting to atmosphere but i was having this problem before i put the hard intake pipe on and removed the plum back setup. i can usually catch the revs before the car stalls but it has made driving the car a pain and the missus freaks out whenever the power steering cuts out around the millions of round abouts in my area. hope one of guys has fixed this problem before and can help me out.

ok, so i asked a few weeks ago if anybody knew what sort of front sway bar the RWD spec stagea used. not getting much confirmation i brought a GTST one and decided today to have a fiddle. well as it turns out i already had a 25.5mm sway bar on the front not sure if this is standard or not and it was solid also so i decided that i would leave it on but that is not before i took it of to compare the two. as u can see from the picture they do vary slightly but i think it would bolt on if u turned the end links around so that they faced outward instead of inwards. i also got busy today and fitted the heavy duty sway bar in the rear which is great as i didnt have one fitted at all. my Kei Office coil overs arrived yesterday and i put the front ones in today and will do the rears when i get a chance but already im looking for bigger corners to go around fast so i cant wait to put them in also. found out today that the rear tyres are well scrubbed on the inside so im in the market for some rear camber arms and im going to do the front castor arms also and i think that will just about do it.

the only sure fire way i can sugest is to replace the complete front hub assembly. that is of course if the suspension geometry is the same as the skylines. if u change the hub, backing plate at the same time as u do the rotors and callipers it has to fit as it did on the original car. im still going to use my theory of spacing the calliper away form the mounting plate by what i reckon needs to be about 2mm and then running a wheel spacer so that my calliper and rim dont hit.

Calling Anyone That's Done Brake A Upgrade!
dmonic1 replied to pintaline's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
i have an S2 and the bolts that came with the 33 callipers were the right size but i have a RWD so what would i know cause most of u guys have AWD's and the two cars just seem to be worlds apart from what fits and what doesnt. i was thinking of trying some R34 front cause they are bigger and will look better inside my 18's but if the bolts are a different diameter then i cant be stuffed as there isnt really much of a performance gain between 33 and 34 brakes. -
well i have no idea why everything fits on RS4's but everybody that has tried to upgrade there front brakes on an RSV have come across the same problem with the outside face of the disc rubbing on the calliper. all i did was space the calliper away from the mounting position so that the disc ran in the centre of the calliper. pretty simple really. now all i need to do is get some braided skyline brake lines and the other calliper and a set of discs. then onto the back which wont be a problem.
-
ok so i decided to go and get a R33 callper and disc from the local wrecker. well it is true that these DO NOT FIT straight onto a series 2 RSV. as it has been said the offset is different and when u fit the new calliper and disc on u trash ur disc cause it rubs. i really dont know why nobody else has done this but all i did was space the calliper off the mounting hub by using a 2mm thick washer and i was done. however this created a new problem as the calliper now rubbed on the back of my rim. i had some 5mm wheel spacers that i was intending to use anyway to get the front and back wheels alligned better and hey presto i have clearence everywhere. i havent driven the car like this to test everything as i grabbed on calliper and a stuffed disc but i will get onto it next week and let u know how it goes.
-
ok so unless im missing something here nobody has actually come to an exact answer on what to upgrade the front callipers and discs for a series 2 RSV (RWD) not RS4 (AWD) from what im reading im not sure if the 33 calliper and rotor has been tryed or not or if people are just putting callipers over there stock discs. please remeber i am talking about a RSV not an RS4 series 2 front brakes. i keep reading all the posts and i keep getting confused if people are talking about front, rear, series 1 or 2 or what they HAVE tried or what they are THINKING of trying. and then people start talking about N15 pulsars. there is just to much conflicting information. just trying to get a straight answer otherwise im going to have to go to a wreckers with my car and pay some cash just to get the answers for myself.
-
yeah i have mounting holes but it seems to be a hit and miss with the rear wheel drives if they have a rear bar from factory or not. i have tried sk but he gets busy sometimes. might try and ring his work shop then, cheers. ps. im pretty sure that front bar ref # is for an AWD/GTR front sway bar which i assume is completly different to my front end as the front struts a very different also
-
was just wondering if anybody could let me know what front sway bar a (RWD) stagea uses. i know the AWD ones use a GTR bar but im just wondering if i would only require a GTS-T sway bar. i really need to upgrade the sway bars as my car didnt even come with a rear bar at all and i want to do both at the same time. cheers for any help.
