  1. I have no idea how my situation will turn out... I have a R34 GTT 2 door and I'm getting Racing Hart CXR's 19x8.5 +21 on the front and 19x9.5 +35 for the rears. The reason my offset for my front is +21 is because I bought some aftermarket front vented fenders that are 20mm wider than stock. I hope it still turns out lookin good... 15mm should be that big a difference... right?
  2. Sorry if I offended you by not caring... seriously, I don't want to start anything I was just posting my opinion. If I'm not considered a 'big boy' because I don't believe in your ideas of how things will turn out... so be it. No harm here. Also, who is "We" when you say, "We'll go bury your head in a sandpit"? Are others offended too? If so this is getting totally out of hand hahaha If more users hate me for my opinion then hey, I must be wrong and I'm truely sorry.. I'm jsut speaking from my point of view.. I'm not saying my word is law or anything of the likes like some people. If you think you can tell me what and what not to be worried about in the GTR world... I'm sorry but your mistaken... I don't own a GTR and don't expect to own one anytime soon unless I win the lotto and buy a house first. That's the reality I have to live with haha If you reread your post, then mine, I think you'll see that I meant no offense to you, 350z owners or new GTR owners. Oh and by the time I can afford a R35, let alone a R36 if there'll be one, it would be MANY years from now so hopefully nagtroc has their shit str8 by then haha j/k In my financial situation and priority wise, my next purchase should be a house... nice cars come next. That should explain my "short sightedness"... possibly excuse it as well. I know how the US market gets into a car.... if its a GTT then I'll be interested. If it's a R32, R33 or R34.. I'll get interested. The new GTR (as awsome as it is) has nothing in common with the previous models so technically... it has nothing to do with me in reality. I love reading about the GTR and so on but if nagtroc falls... seriously, I won't be lighting a candle. Sorry if that offends you. Also, if your one of those kids having fun in your make believe world then I must apoligize as well. I meant no disrespect... seriously. I think there's nothing wrong with doing that... kids are kids you can't take their fun away. I used to bs on chat forums when I was younger and it was fun! To put things in perspective... I doubt you care about MY GTT and MY situation and MY support right?... should I hate you for it? naw... haha There's billions more people out there that can careless about my GTT and my situation haha The thing is, I understand your point of view.... and I don't care because it doesn't effect me and I expect it won't effect me even if I buy a GTR sometime in the future. If I had a GTR right now I doubt it would effect me as well because I WOULDN'T MOD A BRAND NEW GTR hahaha WARRENTY?? I'm poor, I can't afford to buy a new car and start modding it like you... I'm not as blessed. The funny thing is.... I'm American... your Australian... I feel SAU is better and you feel NAGTROC is going to be the best with supporting the new GTR... kinda ironic haha. You're probably right, but in my situation... nagtroc is useless to me and will continue to be. I mean that with no disrespect to nagtroc... its just MY business. Scathing... I hope I didn't pick at any scabs with this reply... I seriously meant no harm... it's hard to hear the tone of my thoughs thru the net and I'm no english major or a dictionary king... I just try to be real and I'll admit if I'm wrong... I like the truth slightly better than my pride.
  3. You should get a GTT and do a motor swap with a GTR. Best of both worlds... minus AWD.
  4. Sorry but it surely doesn't affect me. Possibly in the future when I can afford a GTR or have time to dedicate to track but for now, my GTT is a DD and the BEST info I've ever found for my GTT is on SAU. I've had my GTT for 4 years now so I've been on all the english speaking skyline forums looking for one thats purposeful for me... most of the forums compose of a bunch of kids having fun in their make believe world... nothing wrong with that, it's just not for me because I'm looking for solid info, advice and so on. SAU has been the cleanest in my book. I'm kinda isolated here in korea in terms of skyline support so my MAIN source of info is SAU... if I could read Japanese I'd be on their forums instead! The US market never affected the skyline mods the way the japanese, uk, hk and AU has. Sorry mate but I can careless about the 350z aswell... never owned one and don't expect I ever will. (not a bad car tho) The US market will effect the new GTR's mods.... but that still doesn't effect me right now and that still limits them to ONLY new GTR's. I can see how it would affect the people whos getting a GTR...... am I supposed to sympathize with them? I'm sure they sympathize with me due to the fact that I have a GTT and they have a new GTR haha j/k Last I was on NAGTROC was back in 2005 so I'm speaking of that time... I don't know how good it is now but if the site admins/creators can't get it together that's gotta tell me something. I'm sure the US will figure things out and when they finally get a quality GTR site up and running it'll probably be informative for people who have the GTR... I never said otherwise. The site might have a different name or whatever... the point is they'll get it together. So yes, I can careless if nagtroc goes down the shitter. Bottomline is nobody has to really worry...even the GTR owners. Do you really expect nagtroc to go away forever? If they do, do you really think nobody would start a different US gtr site? That being said, do you really think the US parts manufacturers would hold off developing parts for the new GTR because nagtroc's owners are in a hissyfit?... seriously. The new GTR is the talk of the town in the US wether it's positive or negative. nagtroc isn't the only channel spreading gtr info in the US and it'll never be the only channel.
  5. IMO sau has better skyline info and better personal connects with the folks in Japan anyways... so no loss for me if nagtroc goes down the shitter. Only a handful of Americans in the US own skylines... the rest just research/talk/pose so I feel the quality of info is far better on sau than nagrtoc.
  6. Looks like the 'yanks' managed to import two JDM spec RHD GTR's through Jspecconnect.com. They say the paid $4k over sticker and sold one to some 'yank' in new york for $120k or so. The other is going to have a cameo in f2f4 and is sitting in costa mesa, cali. http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=124992 Hopefully they can take it to the tracks so the GTR can "Bless" the nonbelievers.
  7. Haha Niiice!
  8. I agree, $600 is way too much and N1GTR has the right idea about approaching a painter in your local panel shop. For $600 you're probably still getting used covers that are just repainted. In korea I can get my RB26 covers painted at a panel shop for ~$250 USD so I'm sure you can get it for about the same in Aus. It's expensive in japan to buy newly painted covers. Prices for Nissan OEM Painted brand new covers from Japan... Black Rocker cover EX side $219 USD Rocker cover IN side $219 USD Rocker Ornament cover $263 USD Front cam pulley cover $315 USD Red Rocker cover EX side $210 USD Rocker cover IN side $210 USD Rocker ornament cover $242 USD Front cam pulley cover $125 USD Gold Rocker cover EX side $305 USD Rocker cover IN side $305 USD Rocker ornament cover ??? Front cam pulley cover $181 USD I would expect JWO to be more expensive... just to give you an idea.
  9. This won't help but, I think it would fit. The GTR rear bumper seems to be the same size as the GTT rear bumper the only difference I see is that the GTR bumper sides flex a little to fit on the GTR rear guards. I'd also like to know the right answer to this because I'm getting GTR rear guards and I want to use my original GTT rear bumper.
  10. Yea, I think you should tint it as well.
  11. only 40k? That's how much they were 4 years ago!haha You can get a beat up R34 GTR for 28k easy but buyer beware! By the time I'm done I would have spent around 30-35k for my GTT, engine swap and all the mods (performance, exterior, interior). In the end, my GTT will look better than a stock GTR and will be faster than a stock GTR hands down... well worth it. If I wanted to buy a GTR I would have to sell my GTT (i would get 16k at best since GTTs are a dime a dozen in Japan and I can't sell it to koreans w/o them paying over 10k in taxes) so I would still need 24k just to have a STOCK R34 GTR.... then modding it from start would be expensive.... not worth it in my situation when I can be done with my project at 35k. GTR's are the sheit but sadly I'm in no situation to be able to afford it and satisfy my spending splurges.
  12. the designs don't look half bad... as long as they don't call it a 4 door "GTR"... call it a G37 super touring or G37 CTS or something haha Infiniti needs to stop using the skyline heritige as their branding. G35's G37's aren't bad cars but they're also not skylines. The 350Z and 240sx has their own history.. you don't see them saying that they're 'skylines' or a 350Z GTR or anything. I'm all for Nissan/Infiniti making an attempt to try their luck in the performance luxury sedan market... as long as they don't call it a GTR or Skyline.
  13. That's just the GTR front and rear guards for a GTT right? Or is it wider? Looks the same as a GTR.
  14. The fenders I'm getting are for GTT's only, 20mm wider and vented.. stock replacement and was told it works with stock bumper (it tapers back) so east bear won't be a problem. While a R34 GTR would be fun to own, the next step for me is a Pearl Black R35. I'm a US citizen living in S.Korea so my situation is kinda complicated. My GTT really isn't worth anything since Japan is so close and you can get them a dime a dozen. Due to my visa status here, I cannot sell my GTT to any local without them paying a huge tax so it wouldn't be worth it for any locals. I really have to invest in my GTT, ship it to my home in Florida and it'll sell for 55+k easy. It'll take a year or 2 until I'm ready to leave and by that time I'll have the savings for a R35. I always wanted a R34 GTR but it would have to be a V Spec Nur II and that's $$$. I did a cheap RB26DETT swap with my GTT and I'm pushing 432whp at the moment so I don't think I'm missing out too much not getting a R34 GTR. There's no tracks for me to track so I have no worries about time trials n such... just good'ol highway crusies. AWD is a slight atvantage given my everyday driving conditions but really not worth it in comparison in price difference. I'm spending a lotta money now but hopefully it'll all play out right in the end.
  15. Looks like I'm pushing over 11k for my project... 4k for the rims/tires, 2k for the respray and engine spray, ~6k for the east bear kit/aero hood/front+rear wide fenders/led taillights/gandor mirrors and a sunroof.... it makes me sick how much money I'm throwing into this ride ...
  16. http://www.solve-it.org/skyline/ not sure if the downloads work or not tho.
  17. Check these sites and choose your color/style. They have R32, 33 and 34 styles on the japanese yahoo auctions... it's just a matter of searching through hundreds of pages to find it if you can't read/type japanese. http://page13.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r40920990 http://page14.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/s85863326 You should ask slidewize since they have some sort of connection with the japanese yahoo auction. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...pan-t76361.html If there's no luck there, you can contact www.rhdjapan.com and ask them. They'll help you out for sure but slidewize is local for you I think. I'm after a set of blue badges myself.
  18. What's the reason for going up to 245's if you don't mind me asking? I'm getting 19x8.5 for my fronts and I'm on the fence between 225 and 235 tires. I don't want to lose any performance by streching them too much so I'm trying to find an optimal size for 8.5 while not sacrificing looks...
  19. Yup, it's your ballast. I had the same problem in my front right headlight. I jiged it around a bit and secured it better and now everything is fine. I bought some 8000k Xenon bulbs and everything is fine.
  20. I agree, the owners manual is basically useless. the workshop manual has some good technical info tho.
  21. I hear that! Super wide body with the high arched front fenders makes a R34 GTT look like a real GT500 car. I'm thinking about putting my plans on hold and factoring in the GTR rear guards so I can get some dish at the rears.... $315 a set seems like a steal and it looks like a fairly easy project. Depending on the labor costs, I'll probably end up doing that. The pics above of the superwide body kit is from an American, Derick. I think he's stationed in Germany. I e-mailed him some years ago about other issues before he started his project. I checked my e-mails but I can't find his contact info... sorry. I know he can given you some good insight if you can find a way to contact him. He's on cardomain.com.
  22. I was running Apexi UFO's (~$15-$20 USD) on my ER34 RB25DET(Neo) and BCNR33 RB26DETT. Now I have these Sard Sports Mag+ Filters SMF00(~$15-$20 USD). Hopefully they'll fit and workout alright. Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 15w-50 Extended Performance $8 USD a liter.
  23. I haven't personally seen a 4dr R34 tail lights.. but I imagine if the big and little 'stove tops' are the same size as a 2dr, you should be able to mod a pair of 2dr R34 LED taillights to fit in the 4dr tail light caseing... probably have to splice the wiring for the blinkers or maybe not...
  24. Thanks but I live in S.Korea so shipping doesn't take longer than 2 weeks. I just never seen a Tomei cap... always the nismo and other caps. I'll get it from my source... they have pretty good prices. Thanks for the info tho.
