I heard that when you purchase a R35 GTR Nissan will give you an option to have two different tuning setting on the cpu if you have a valid circuit liscense. It will be the stock setting 473hp and a circuit setting which will be higher hp.. around 600hp I think. Has anyone heard about this or is it all fiction? I just heard this from word of mouth so don't take this info in fully.

I didn't get a respray yet. It's comming up next month when I get the East Bear front bar, EB aero bonnet and Do-Luck GTR aero fenders (or just regualr GTT vented fenders). I just want to be prepared before it all goes down. I really want to see that black pearl! Thats the same color I want.
-
thanks guys, i'll try out the OCW untill my paint cures for now. I wasn't sure if you could or couldn't wax over the 5SS.. if you can then that would probably be the best bet for me in the future.
-
SS8 Gohan, thanks for the tips. But the 5SS says that their product won't work with wax. I don't want to apply the 5SS and get stuck with it.. know what I mean? What do you suggest for a car that's been resprayed black. I remember you said carnauba is probably the best after a respray but what else?
-
Ali-turko, is that the shine you get from japon and carbon (avatar pic)? Which zymol are you talking about? I think I might get a tube after seeing that picture!

I've been searching the net for all info on 5 star shine and this is what I come up with. There are people who love it (They actually used it before), people who say it's a scam (they never used it or seen it.. they never really looked at the product for what it is), and a couple of people who don't like it (because they didn't know how to use it). $70 a kit 1) It doesn't last 5 years worth of washings.. most say it lasts a little over a year. 2) It's very slick and shiny but it's still not better than high end carnauba waxes or other less expensive waxes that give that deep show quality shine. 3) It IS the best protectant out there. Even some that don't like this product say that it protects your paint better than anything else out there... just not for 5 years. 4) It is a long process.. but you only do it once as opposed to doing it every few weeks. Basically the experienced detailing professionals were saying that the 5SS kit isn't meant for everyone even though they advertise it so. If you erase all that marketing jabber and take a look at the product for what it actually is, it isn't half bad. People who live in more tollerable environments would probably not use this because they can get away with using cheaper proctecting products and waxes and could easily maintain it. People who live in rougher environments would probabaly use this stuff because its protection is top quality. People who don't really care about that true show quality shine but want a good shine would probably buy this product.. it's lower maintenance than your top producing waxes. It just all boils down to preference, maintenance, environment and sacrifice. I want that show quality shine but I don't want to be out waxing my daily driver every other week or third week. I can sacrifice a lot of shine quality for maintenance if I go 5SS. I live in S.korea.. we have monsoons that lasts months, our winters are snowy sandy and miserablely cold, our summers are hot and extremely humid and can easily reach temps over 40 degrees C. I work long hours, I don't have a garage at home or any type of overhead parking so my car is parked in the elements everyday. I participate in no shows or events because they're aren't any here in Korea that I can participate in. I have a Japanese sports car in S.Korea (you history buffs would remember that most koreans and japanese secretly hate eachothers guts) so I've seen spit, ciggarette butts, ash, boogies and god knows what layin on my car sometimes. So the 5SS would be a better choice for me... but since I'm stubborn.. I'm still going for the high maintenace better shine! At least until I can't take the abuse any longer.. then I'll consider the 5SS protectant. Don't pay attention to all the marketing hype and all the people who hate it or love it. Do your research, a lot of people have actually bought this stuff and it works best for their purpose. If your a detailing freak then don't buy the 5SS, there's obviously better products for shine. If you just want a decent shine that maintains itself and the best protectant, then you should consider looking in to the 5SS or other shine products that protect real well. A lot of people make assumptions without actually taking a look when there's marketing hype so they remain bias on the whole situation.

Hey URAS, thanks for the response. I just need to be sure... are you talking about the clearance (20mm) for the URAS GTR to GTT wide fenders or the Do-Luck GTR aero fenders? Are they all the same (20mm)? Are stock GTR fenders 20mm wider than GTT fenders? Sorry for the pickyness, I just want to be sure before I buy my rims... I live in S.Korea so it would be a pain and expensive to keep shipping back and forth to Japan. If 20mm is the answer to all my questions then I can go ahead and calculate the rim sizes. Thanks again URAS!

R34 Gtr Front Bar On R34 Gtt
chak8080 replied to Marco-R34GTT's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
For the GTT to GTR front Conversion you need to change out the headlight? Why? Aren't the headlights the same dimensions? -
I already started a topic about the GTT vented fenders but I haven't recieved any answers about the difference in clearance. I have a GTT 2 door and I'm trying to buy a set of Racing Hart CXR's but before I do I need to find out the clearance for my front fenders. I want to get the R34 GTR Do-Luck aero fenders... If I get the Racing Hart CXR's with the stock GTT fenders it would be 19x8.5 +35 for the front. What I need to find out is how much further does the Do-Luck GTR aero fenders stick out in terms of mm so I can calculate the right size and offset rims I can get. Has anyone done this yet? I understand that I have to get GTR hood, front bar, hinges and latches... that's not a problem. I just want my rims to fit flush with the fenders. Thanks for any help on this!
-
yup, I plan on changing my front bar to East Bear, bonnet to East Bear Aero and fenders to either do-luck gtr aero or gtt vented. I just need to know what the mm difference is so I can buy my rims and have them sit nicely.
-
I just check my e-mail for the exact price... 31,290 JPY http://www.xxx-treme.jp/parts/fender_er34.htm I guess they do R33 and R32 vented fenders too. R33cruiser, thats what i'm talking about. How many mm difference would it be if i were to get the do luck gtr vented fenders vs the GTT stock fenders. And does anyone know if these GTT vented fenders are wider or just a stock replacement.

R34 Gtt Rear Brake Kit
chak8080 replied to chak8080's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks, I'll just replace the rear rotors with stock replacements... calipers are fine. -
I found these on the Japan Yahoo Auction.. they cost around $235 USD after conversion. I know someone who you can get a quote from and will send them to you. Go to www.RHDJapan.com The owner is Russell Hobbs and Patrick Antell. E-mail them with the picture of the fender and they will get you a quote. They can actually get you anything. I bought my BCNR33 RB26DETT from them. If you don't know the product name you can send them a picture of what you want and they can find it and price it. I live in S.Korea so the prices are good for me.. I don't know how they'll be for you guys. ..but back to my question. What is the difference in clearance with the two fenders? Anyone fitted the GTR vented fenders on a GTT before?
-
I have a 98 GTT and want to fit some vented front fenders but I'm not sure if I should get the GTT or GTR vented front fenders. Anyone know the difference between the GTT aftermarket vented front fenders and the GTR aftermarket vented front fenders? Are the GTT vented front fenders smaller in terms of clearance? Would it be better to get the GTR vented front fenders so I can fit wider rims if the clearance is bigger? The style of fenders for the GTT I'm talking about are these.. The GTR vented fenders are similar I'm guessing... I never seen them clearly. I'm not talking about the 'horned' looking vented fenders for the GTR.. just the plain vented ones. Thanks for any help on this!

Faq: Apexi Powerfc - Frequently Asked Questions
chak8080 replied to paulr33's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
Driftmeister, I have a 98 GTT with a PFC for the original engine (RB26DETT(Neo). I did a swap with a BCNR33 RB26DETT but I kept my same PFC and the original wiring harness for the GTT. My GTT runs ok but with many symptoms here and there. My power steering doesn't work (nothing to do with PFC), no a/c (also nothing to do with PFC). Those two things are just compatibility issues. I just need to buy a new pwr steering pulley and an OEM compressed a/c line for a R33 chassis. Electrical Problems... My check engine light stays on but there's no problem... No TCS.. Oil Temp Guage doesn't work.. compatibility issue... aftermarket sensor will fix that. Theres a compatibility issue with the injectors. The PFC for a GTT runs on a high impedance system, the RB26 motor for a BCNR33 uses a low impedance system. I lucked out, I ordered some Bosch 444cc Green Top High Impedance injectors from the US (cheap but they sell in set of 8.. I just sold the other 2 to my shop), my tuner has a friend who's a Robotics Professor and he built a converter sensor to change the RB26 system to high impedance. There were trial and error things that I went thru with my air sensor since I only have that one from the RB25 motor. My tuner had to modify the pfc to read the different air flows. We were trying to go D-Jetro but we still need to work things out to see whats best. I suggest buying the correct harness and cpu for the RB26 motor if you have the loot to do so... you'll eliminate many headaches. I'm about to get my Tomei 276 l/hr high flow fuel pump installed this weekend. Were expecting ~400whp, 62whp gain from what it is now. All I have is Apexi Filters (both are for the GTT haha saving money again) full custom exhaust FMIC SARD Fuel Regulator Exedy Hyper Multi Plate Twin Clutch Blitz SBC-iD III HKS Turbo actuators and the Tomei fuel pump. Hope my mistakes shed some light for you! -
Has anyone upgraded their rear brakes (calipers and rotors)? Is there a rear brake kit for the R34 GTT? I'm getting some 19 inch rims so I think I might need to upgrade my front and rear brakes... not really sure though. If not, I'm still after some aftermarket rear rotors and calipers for the R34 GTT... my stock rear rotors are worn down. Thanks if you can help me with this or steer me in the right direction.
-
SS8 Gohan, how long does it take for a respray to cure? I read a couple posts back and saw that you have a recipe for black cars that looks killer(sealant and layers of carnauba wax).
-
whats your thoughts on armourall? I use it for my interior but when I take my gtt to the detailing shop here in S.Korea they get pissed cause I used it. They say it collects dust more or something like that.
-
Wow, this is the first negative review I've heard of 5SS. I've even seen it with my own eyes... but I haven't seen the longevity. Is OCW an Australian brand or something? I never heard of it. I live in S.Korea so I'm probably limited on which high end brands I can purchase. If 5SS would be bad in the long run then I'll probably won't use it. What I'm really after is that 'mirror' like finish that requires the least amount of maintenance and lasts long. Thanks for the info btw.
-
I know it sounds funny but this stuff really works good. A friend of mine used this kit on his 94 mercedes and I'm telling you that it looks 10 times better and it stays that way. He's a 67 yr old man and it took him a little under 4 hours to do. You probably won't have THE best shine in a contest but it's surely a top quality shine that keeps maintenance... something waxes can't do (at least all the top brands that I've tried before). I think it's a steal compared to the amount of time/effort and money you spend on waxes over 5 years. If you heard something bad about this product please let me know... I have a kit at home but I'm waiting for a respray before I apply it. If there's something wrong with the 5 star shine then I won't use it but so far all I've heard is good things. Thanks

Where's The Best Place To Get R34 Gtr Head Lights?
chak8080 replied to R34TRK's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
I got them on mine too. If you go to www.rhdjapan.com you can ask them what the prices are on them. they're pretty good about prices. They are American owners. -
Gt-r Center Digital Screen On Gt-t?
chak8080 replied to Pax-Ottomanica's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
Would it be possible to do this with a ER34 GTT 2 Dr that has a BCNR33 RB26DETT swap? Right now I have no power steering, no A/C, check engine light and TCS light stays on. I'm having compaibility issues... I 'hacked' my Apexi PFC (originally for 1998 GTT RB25DET(NEO)) to work for the R33 RB26DETT so I lost a few things. Does anyone know how difficult it would be to install the Nismo MFD with the setup I currently have? I know... I have a mess to deal with. I should probably stop being cheap and get a cpu to suite the RB26DETT. -
Are There Any Decent 8" Subs
chak8080 replied to s13_Skyline_inside's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
I'm in a similar if not worse situation. I have two 10 inch Pioneer Premier subs 1500 watt each, two 1000 watt each Pioneer Mono Class D Amps and one 350 watt 4 channel Amp. I have absolutely no room for anything in my boot! I'm getting a custom fab project done sometime early next year. The focus is to maximize the trunk space while keeping all the same equipment and having a clean cut show quality appearance. I'll post pics when it's done so in the future if you want to change things around a bit you'll have an idea what it might look like. -
Er34 Gtt 20 Inch Rims
chak8080 replied to chak8080's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks DECIM8, you gave me more info than what I had. I think I just might stick to 19's.. not tooo much of a difference. Could I run 10 on the rear w/o body work? or is 9.5 the max? -
Er34 Gtt 20 Inch Rims
chak8080 replied to chak8080's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks DECIM8, do you have any more info about 20's? (What offsets, how wide.. 9.5?) Do my tires need to be streched a little or can I keep them normal?
