  1. Short Story called, "The SWITCH" * Once upon a time there was a man named Rux * He'd saved up for ages for a nice GTR * Parking this specimen in a safe place was a problem * His neighbour's car was vandalised * Rux wasn't willing to lose sleep and wait for the inevitable * He'd already seen cars slow down whilst occupants eyed off his car * Rux put his car into storage and bought a near identical rusty Sh!tbox version to park in the same old spot * He went to Supercheap and bought a car cover * Late at night he went to the local police station and stole a set of plates off a police car * Rux switched these plates with the ones on his Sh!tbox and put the car cover over it and the plates * This he did every night and in the morning, he would put the Sh!tbox plates back on again * Sure enough, the thieves eventually returned * They thought Rux was dumb to think that a lowly car cover would prevent a theft * But they didn't realise that Rux was only making sure the plates were covered * After one of his restful sleeps Rux awoke to find his 'precious car' had been perloined. * He discreetly took the real Sh!tbox plates down to the police station and switched them with those on another police car * Rux tossed those police car plates into a council bin and went inside the station to report the theft The thieves were caught pretty quickly and were charged with 3 counts of stealing instead of 1 Rux now parks his GTR at the front with the previously discarded car cover over it.
  2. You mentioned that your main concern of inconvenience and cost is vandalism. That was my concern too when I used to do some locum pharmacy work in risky areas and I'd occasionally have to tell off some kid/s. So I became friendly with some customers who'd accept my plea to park in their yards. Will a kindly neighbour do the same for you?
  3. Yes Safety Cams going up from... 91 > 200
  4. 6 Mobile Speed Cams in NSW will be multiplied 7.5x 45 will be in service shortly.
  5. Bakes (Che Baker) had the Pearl Black V-Spec but ended up selling it to a Dr in the N Coast > he sold it too I think...
  6. Yes, I still recall my last flu in 82 where the nerves behind the eyes all hurt. You'd swear the eyes did in fact hurt > weird sh!t In the public eye, it only takes some lax hygiene in a football club for 6 or more players to go down like flies > team performance drops off for 2 weeks; maybe more
  7. ...depends on whether or not you can beat my cockatiel through an identical maze
  8. Chris Rogers is the SAU guy to PM about this but... Our next door neighbour went away with friends in a convoy across the outback. At a common public carpark they also like yourself noticed a couple inside their 4WD, but didn't think anything of it. All the couples left their 4WDs for a walk and when they came back, 5 of the 6 Landcruisers were rifled of cash and valuables. Patrols and Pajeros remained untouched. Is the remote a rolling code type?
  9. ...added new meaning to the word "virus" ...and as a kid, (& since this thread is also about food), I used to turn my nose up at "Spam"; but not anymore
  10. The watch is actually a brilliant piece! Many thanks! > now to get a battery of course...
  11. Three babies diagnosed in one day at Westmead Children's H, with potentially deadly measles virus. The measles vaccine isn't usually administered that early either > dilemma.
  12. Report (of which I don't know how valid) says today that men's workplaces are much more dirty than ladies'. Particularly up for mention are the office chair and the phone.... Thoughts?
  13. Smartie!
  14. That's a pleasure Bob! There are a few lovely R32 GTRs on parade at the start of Disc#1 that you'll be interested in! Just sorry that I put your Discs in plastic cases ending up with a $7.50 cost instead of $3 (if I'd used paper sleeves).
  15. Steve-0, your DVD Set is ready to be picked up from Earlwood anytime from tomorrow onwards. And your set was posted today Nick. Yes, now that I put the DVDs into paper sleeves, I found that I can send a bubblepak for $3 all up (instead of $7.50) at letter-rate rather than parcel-rate.
  16. Just Jap have plenty with rubber. Standard colour or black semi gloss. Discount for SAU Members off asking price.
  17. DVD Set done! So happy to make these up for you Nick!

  20. JDM_Performance here on SAU has prepped award winning cars. Eugene's number is 0421.141.538
  21. Refund owing!!!!!!!!!!!! I just sent yours John but... instead of the usual $6.60 postage, yours cost $1.80. It seems like there's only 2mm difference in thickness between a parcel rate against a letter rate. Maybe I should fudge a l'il and sit on the bubblepak before I pay for the stamps perhaps? Anyway John, I owe you $4.80
  22. Photobucket is my friend.
