  1. From a Safety Perspective:- I would only feel secure if every wheel nut could be torque wrenched the same Nm. From a Legal Perspective:- The slip on ones are illegal.
  2. ^^^ That's what one guy was overheard to say outside the 40th floor when he'd just jumped off the 50th. But you never know... One woman was known in the smh to have sold her hubbie's 500SL for a hundred after he'd gone to Fiji with his secretary for 2 months and announced his intention to divorce. He said, "You mean $100k?" She said, "No $100" and hung up.
  3. Bolt on ones
  4. More than one click! You tapped 50x to complete your comment + a shift key lol
  5. Today's US News indicates that a blocked strait will indicate a fuel price rise to US$5/gallon at the pump; ...in other words, AUS$2.20/litre
  6. You pick 'em Joel hehe #1 "Please wait for map to appear" #2 "There is no data to map" Well sumfin like that
  7. I'd like to take that off your hands if I may pls Luke? And if you've got an air gun to help me take off a stubborn nut (if poss on 2/1/12) can I bring my car down the hill to your workshop? Thanks in advance:)
  8. Very good empathy on your part + your friend Jim These sorts of acts are what make this club one of the best!
  9. Perhaps this thread deserves to get transplanted later on into Wasteland > Current Affairs but... Crude Oil > Fuel supplies are under threat by Iran's current intention to blockade the Strait of Hormuz. Interesting times... I wonder what ticked them off.
  10. Is the hanger-hole in the middle this time Eric?
  11. My thread... Cosmetic, Styling & Respray > Lmgt4s Have A New Lease On Life... Pics of 265/35/18 on 10.5". Yes as posts above say, "They're fine"
  12. Prior to mid 2007 Marko via UAS .
  13. gtrfan's black adm r32 GTR came through Unique Auto Sports For what it's worth I've conveyed some info as best I can about insuring cars that are appreciating in General Automotive
  14. Sounds just like benm instructing terry - lol - and same lines. ... but Ben's cattle dog does a better job hahaaa!
  15. Rationale:- insurance companies will tend to depreciate the value of your car each year when it comes time to pay next year's Premium. But how does one reverse this, should you be fortunate enough to possess a car of such rarity that it appreciates in value over time? Your Rights:- So if you do own a R33 GTR 400R, Z-Tune R34 GTR, ADM R32 GTR, Hakosuka, C210 Kenmerie GTR, N1 and others including an original condition Datsun 1600 etc, you'd like to use every strategy possible to justify to your insurance company that your car is worth every cent of the Agreed Value that it's entitled to right? Homework To Gain Justice:- Perhaps you should journalise your exact equivalent car's... 1) recent sale price by private treaty in Oz 2) recent auction price overseas 3) recent auction price here in Oz 4) sum insured value on someone else's policy ...if you're able to source such information! This way, you may facilitate an increased Sum Insured on your own Policy Renewal when it comes time to renew do you think? Dealing With Your Insurance Company:- Don't be afraid to ask to talk to the supervisor present. Be armed with all information that justifies your argument to change your Sum Insured upwards. There is proof that your insurance company will follow up your lead or link to wiki info when you offer it! Shop around between Shannon's, Lumleys SV, Just Car etc. And if the company will only insure for Market Value because it's your first year of ownership, ask for an undertaking that this will be switched to Agreed Value the second year! Let us know if I've forgotten anything please? By the way, this thread is about long term appreciation value through rarity/demand rather than short term appreciation through mods.
  16. Have you or your mechanic actually isolated the exact source of the noise eg by placing a wooden dowel (carefully) between your ear and the spindle and other likely spots? Wood tends to work better than plastic/metal of a screwdriver.
  17. 2) V-Spec N1 3) V-Spec II N1 Lumleys SV and Shannon's will insure the above for Sums Insured at well over $105K (and unmodified obviously). Time & Auction results will tell us if others appear on the radar!
  18. You Brett and a couple of others I'm sure, will make a strong Exec even stronger; and without any hiccups in continuity 2012 under the leadership of Eric has a wonderful outlook. I can't be there I'm afraid but having served under Neil, Steve-0 & Duncan I can see how Eric is trying to utilise the strengths of all of these guys into a well oiled machine! Good on you guys for putting your hands up!!!!! Uncle SAU needs you!!!!
  19. No Jonno - not yet. E-go estimates 8-9 days which I presume means business days. I'm looking forward to that Nismo set you've sold me I must say
  20. numleg (aka Tom) I think, has those wheels you're after. PM him and haggle They're satin black and were displayed on his Autech RS on the Stagea 15th Anniversary Wrapup in the NSW section
  21. From a chemist's perspective, if a person were to apply over time 4 different polishes > 4 different sealants etc, what's to say that the chemical of one might react with another from a different brand name; and through their incompatibility generate some marks or even flaking? Has this ever happened? I mean, if one used a process where Auto Glym was used throughout, or another guy was to use Menzerna throughout & a third guy was to use Meguiars throughout: each product would be compatible with another from the same brand. But surely these companies might end up using chemicals that are incompatible with chemicals from a different brand perhaps? And if there was an incompatibility? What's the likelihood that the last product applied was blamed for some markings when in fact the product underneath it was the chemical 'time bomb'? Heck I've even come across two skin creams that needed to be applied to the patients skin where cream A had to be applied throughout the day & the other called B shouldn't. So B had to be applied at night after washing. Thoughts? > Experiences?
  22. Yes I'd believe that about the Ford. My sis' has a Focus too and it's had intermittent problems with the auto trans. > stuck on gears - wont change gears - searching etc.
  23. How well do the Ceratos corner and brake? I just recently talked my 85yr old Mum into getting a Mazda 2 Genki (after downsizing from a Maxima GV). It only has 4 forward gears tho' Oh well, at least she can now get it into the carport without banging something & it corners/brakes/changes down to overtake just fine.
  24. I've seen their advert in PI Mag. As well as the importer being a good communicator & being able to smoothly take your car from inspection > purchase with your money on trust > freight cost > freight care > Aust compliance > into your loving hands; he needs to have reliable/knowledgeable sets of eyes in Japan + reliable/careful freight company too to state the obvious. Here on SAU forum, "Iron Chef" is certainly one of those people. He also writes a regular article in PI Mag too. More than just an honest face, does he possess!
  25. That's a great idea Freddy! ...especially when you put one in the S-bend of your mother-in-law's throne! Srsly > pretty cool!
