  1. ^ ^ Good Q. Clotting time is lengthened. = inclination to bleed more unless the person has enough clotting factor #8, #12 and vitamin K Just higher risk... A situation occurred with my brother-in-law's mother who had liver cancer. Her condition was operable, but the surgeons wouldn't attempt it unless her leg clots could be dissolved > Heparin drip to thin the blood. I went visit her and was appalled at what she was eating from the hospital kitchen ie. Tomato soup + Tomatoes for dinner > have clottimg agents. Great example of 'the left hand not knowing what the right was doing' > I reported it > nursing staff said they'd tell the doctors > she died before they could operate. Blood clots in the leg can move up to the lungs or the heart or the brain.
  2. I can't see why quarterly meetings at August, November, February can't be run at different venues. And I wouldn't expect Novocastrians to go to a Canberra meeting any more than Canberrans go to a Newcastle one. However, goodwill would be the positive spinoff would it not?
  3. That's ok Matthew. I guess the advantage of living down here, is that we can look (at current and back issues) before we buy.
  4. Forester 2.0D with good resale value at the other end.
  5. You said the car was imported 3 years ago and you've had it for 2 yrs. Did the 1st Aust owner change the coolant? If not, then change it for Aussie water + coolant. Otherwise Engine Oil + Filter, and brake fluid (since it absorbs water from the air) like like what Moodles2 said.
  6. RE002 wll need to be a tremendous tyre, because the RE001 is in transition over to RE002 as we speak.
  7. If you can... Grab an R34 GT-R Rear C/F diffuser or C/F copy for much less eg from JDM Performance here on SAU Pics? Get PI Magazine Issue #130 pp38-43 Article called "Mixmaster" Re R33 GT-R (midnight purple) Brackets can be fabricated by Peter at Bodyform Aero now at Smithfield.
  8. When kids recognise and then admire the car you have... do you wave back? My peripheral vision isn't as good as it used to be, and my wife tells me if someone has waved at me. I tell her - lol - it's not me: it's the car. And then I thought... when I was 22 and sat next to a G/F who had a Charger > kids would stick up a "V" sign with their fingers and yell out "CHARGER" in response to a very successful TV Ad campaign. So since PS games promote certain Skylines... and kids wave at you 'er your car (like they did to-day)... do you wave back?
  9. Stroke is one of the 3 biggest killers in our society. Worth a mention? You betcha. Firstly, it's good to take on board that there is 1) infarct stroke 2) haemorrhagic stroke Lots of people take aspirin to prevent stroke > but that's infarct stroke where they are prone to thrombosis or blood clots (or DVT after airplane trips). Aspirin essentially keeps the blood thin (aka lowers viscosity which is more easily understood on a car forum - lol) But, aspirin will often cause damage to the lining of the gut and small intestine. So is there another way for people who have relatives that are prone to this type of stroke? The answer is Willow Bark - aka Nature's Aspirin. It's safe to take on an empty tummy, because it only converts to aspirin after digestion > keeps the blood thinner. Caution:- Willow Bark should not be used if you're a bleeder or are also taking Ginkgo Biloba or of course are prone to haemorrhagic stroke
  10. If you're trying to lose weight and you're doing everything right... like... * eating correctly with regard to 5 food groups + being regular + not picking/bingeing * being active regularly but... your weight is stuck on these inordinately long plateaus and... * your skin is dry * hair loses lustre easily * have an intolerance to extremes of temperature * suffer generalised fatigue (say 3 of the 4 above)... your thyroxine levels are probably running low so... your metabolism is sluggish which means... you can take the amino acid called "l-Tyrosine" to support your thyroxine levels but how much?... Ummm... I don't know unless... but a thyroid function test would help!
  11. A common affliction that badly interrupts digestion is the condition called Candidiasis (aka yeast sensitivity). It occurs after the use of antibiotics; especially Erythromycins, Tetracyclines and Penicillins (and not so much Cephalexins). Ever heard of it? Do you have it? Symptoms include... 1) bloated tummy or wind 2) blocked sinuses or postnasal drip 3) crotch itch (or in girls, thrush) 4) tinea 5) urgent need to urinate 6) breath going off despite good dental hygeine 7) bruise easily with slight bumps 8) foggy thinking 9) eyes get irritated with cigarette smoke or presence of petrochemical fumes 10) sensitive to musty conditions > affecting throat, breathing, headache If you get 3 or more of the above,... well, post up!
  12. Thanks GM > I've been using Blue PK for some time now for the reason that... 951 & 950 > Gliomas like Astrocytoma of the brain, Grave's Disease, Lymphomas, worsening of certain types of Breast Cancer. Bowel Cancer Prevention:- I've taken note of something I recall from pharmacy days gone by. Back in 1970 the 9th ranked cancer back then is #2 now. It's called bowel cancer. To go up 7 spots in rankings is phenomenal. Do you know anyone who's been struck by it? By the time bleeding occurs (which of course could be just haemorrhoids), a bowel cancer is too late to treat. Anyway, I read a medical report that aspirin causes bowel polyps to shrink and prevent apoptosis or bursting > spreading bad cells > metastasis > death But the side effect of aspirin is that it abrades the lining of your stomach which makes you more prone to ulcers there. Anyway, there does exist a herb that converts to aspirin after digestion and therefore does not have a detrimental effect on the Gastrointestinal Lining. It's called Willow Bark. And it also has earned the name of 'nature's aspirin'. Moral:- so if your ancestry shows up some bowel cancer afflictions, it might be best to take a Willow Bark tablet each day perhaps? I would.
  13. I know you live in Qld, but for anyone who lives in Sydney, it's worthwhile going to Express Publications at Silverwater to ask for back issues of PI or even HPI for you to peruse in the front foyer > make your selection of articles (ie issue #s) that you want to save > buy any Mag for $5. Hint: Take you time and treat the place like your own personal library!
  14. We all feel for you and Blake (also SAU Member). Blake's lovely white R33 GT-R got stolen too. This is getting out of hand. He was house-sitting just for a week or two and it got stolen from there. For those of you who recall, he looked after the compound where interstate Skylines were stored, whilst staying overnight before the R32 GT-R 21st Anniv. Ironic isn't it; being in charge of security and all?
  15. Can anyone find me a Chewing Gum that doesn't have the carcinogenics #951 & #950 in it? I couldn't find my usual blue PK yesterday. Despite being in my 60s I fortunately still have all my teeth (incl impacted wisdoms - lol) but with slightly receding gums, chewing gum is good for my gums if you know what I mean! You young dudes probably won't understand - except to look around for me. Thanks
  16. ^ ^ ^ LOL yeah I remember that 'Institution' hahaaa Biochem is easier if there's a Pathways chart in front of you... And you've just prompted me to take a pic of a couple of sections of the chart; to be posted below soon V V V
  17. So sorry to hear. The pics in "Photography" thread on the topic "WHEELS" was only taken by us Dave, hours before. And there I was yesterday asking you if of late, vandalism had ceased in the area of G.Pk! "Platinum PI" owned by Daniel Gardener is now "Cartoon Car Systems" re: Car Security. 1800.227.252 0411.101.737 Will talk to Todd tomorrow re: spare lock set availability ...but he can look over the car for you "officially" for insurance purposes that perhaps the car has had internals damaged? There was a key/lock set as I recall in the F/S section within the past wk! P.S. A further worrying part is that this is the 3rd Skyline stolen in western Sydney in the past 6 wks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. ^ ^ ^ Sorry, but I'd let your fingers do the walking and contact a local naturopath who can supply you with one of those brands that has 200mg+... Then I'd take one of those + one of the Cenovis that you have already each day. (30mg is too benign to improve or stabilise insulin resistance I'm afraid).
  20. I roamed up and down the confectionary aisles of Target to-day... looking for chewing gum without any 951 or 950. Do you think I could find any? > No such luck! The one I was trying to track down was the "Blue PK" > need to go to woolies or coles I guess. I used to get hooked on (USA) Chiclets. > Wonder if a lolly shop has them > and they're not tainted with 950 or 951
  21. lol How much B3 is in the Cenovis? Less than 50mg? Might need multiples... Timeline of efficacy (at the right dosage) is approx 5-10 days (without interference by simple carbs, alcohol or other recreational drugs)

Someone said, "Clothes Maketh The Man" Does that translate here into "Wheels Maketh How A Car Looks?" ...understanding of course that a lot depends on the colour of the car's 'skin' !!! First up... Volk Racing RE30 > Titanium with polished lip on a Red R34 Combination
  23. I had a daddy once - lol > brand new 1970 Datsun 1600 But at the times I came home thereafter > I think I shortened his life
  24. Received your PM Aggrodave might post up a pic for you soon. To-day we compared the two badges 1) off a GT-T and 2) off a GT-R. They're both the same size with these 1999 models. The badge of the GT-T is silver chrome. The badge of the GT-R is titanium chrome. Edit* Aggroman PM him; but ask him nicely. His car was stolen yesterday after an at home break 'n enter.
