  1. Maybe consider some new ls1 coils for swap, or similar setups. thanks.
  2. Hi guys I have a set of 6 new in box/packet LS2 Truck coils, the part number on the box is D585 they are unused unfortunately my EMS ecu is not supporting these right now, so I am going to hunt down some LS1 coils, They come with a 4 way loom with new plugs & 2 seperate plugs to suit, these coils really hammer approximately 3x more power then the LS1 variants. $500 shipped.
  3. Thanks status Just what I wanted to hear.
  4. Is that the weld in ones? Is it the only option.
  5. I already have the injectors I looked at id2000 but I am happy to give these a shot first. I need more so advise to fit them to my rb25 I don't particularly want to weld in injector boss' seeing if there is anything that just sits in the place like the original grommets.
  6. Gday. I am upgrading my fuel system to some indy whites on my rb25.. I have the indy whites & a powerflow fuel rail.. I am told I need to get some injector bosses for the plenum so the injectors seal correctly. Do these have to be weld in ? What other options do I have. Thanks
  7. Hey. Ive got a box style plenum welded about 3" after the rb25 runners start, it gets rid of the factory coolant bleed screw, Im running an aftermarket ecu & dont really need a gauge temp sender in there & was wondering if anyone has ever put a coolant bleed screw where the gauge sender goes? The thread is m12x1.25 & im pretty sure this is the highest point in my cooling system.
  8. What colour is the ecu?
  9. -------------------------- Hey mate, I actually have an ecu that requires the cas wheel to be 1 tooth out, (from 60btdc to 1btdc-10btdc) so instead of spinning the internal trigger wheel I just removed the half moon key. You will find that the key is only for alignment, there is actually 8 grooved teeth that the cas rotates on, the reason people stuff up is they put it back in the wrong way after the tooth has snapped off. As far as Im aware the cas is internally (trigger discs) the same from r32-r34, however the camshafts & alignment keys change or something similar rb20 & rb25 series 1 cas are the same other then the plug, they both have the half moon alignment key. --------- The cas must be working fine & it would still spark and carry on if it was out of alignment. I think my earth cable might be too small so im going to try this tonight.
  10. Hey, Trying to diagnose a problem with my crank angle sensor, Its an rb25 running an rb20 red top cas. (ems 8860 ecu) Im not getting spark under cranking conditions, if I turn the ignition on & take the cas out & spin the thing I can see the coils firing and hear the injectors clicking (they coils seem to be firing very fast tho) Wiring seems in check as far as I can see. Is this a cas related thing or would neither injectors or spark work if the cas was playing up?
  11. I sorted some out locally today, but If they give me any grease when Its tuning I will keep it in mind. haha I mean grief.
  12. Hey Pretty sure I have stuffed my coilpacks due to bad wiring initially, need another set to test, im in brisbane northside. Let us know what you have.
  13. I ended up frying my coilpacks as far as I can tell from bad wiring, I have the cas working properly & its firing the injectors but nothing happening with the coils, I chucked my multimeter into earth & the ecu trigger on coilpack wiring 1 & it was fluctuating under ignition so its getting action, I also got a reading off the ign power & it was showing 12.8v so this is working also. Looks like im up for some new coilpacks if anyone has some on the cheap brisbane - northside preferably that are working let me no. The post above doesnt make much sense, obviously the cas' are interchangable other then plugs it was just the coils playing up the whole time.
  14. Gday, Just having trouble getting my ems 8860 to spark, its an rb25 headed rb30, the ecu is not triggering the coils even though they have active ign power & good earth & I can hear the injector pulsing. I thought I would look into my cas as it seemed like an odd unit (plug is different too r33), Checking the genuine part number the car has an r31 rb20 early red top crank angle sensor on it. (with the rectangular plug) My question is is this cas / trigger wheel going to be any different to an r33 & is it advisable for me to use this or change it to the r33 unit or are they interchangeable It recommends that nissan engines set the trigger wheel from 60btdc back to 5-15btdc, but the car previously had the older dualsport unit on it so I figured it would be allready done. But how would I go about doing this? Any help would be great otherwise it maybe a job for someone else. I cant check the timing because the ecu is not triggering the coils, I was thinking this could be way out, but the coils should still fire at some stage, it does sound pretty lumpy when I turn it over. Also I have put a test light while cranking on the ecu trigger part of the plug on cylinder 1 & it didnt light up, its definately wired up in the correct order. Really any help on adjustment to the cas trigger wheel if needing to be done would be great. Sorry about the long post im not stressing out about it just eager to get it to fire and run.
  15. Also, if using an after market ecu use max 1.8ms charge time, 0.4ms discharge time or you will burn out the coil packs. Thanks for the info I actually was wondering why it would be any different then any other wiring setup I couldnt understand this other diagram I was looking at but that one is a bit more straight forward. The ecu im using is the ems 8860, Funny you should mention the basemap they have for rb25 has 3.5ms dwell I turned it down to 1.9ms so that should be sweet. Thanks for the quick reply I should have it firing after cleaning up the loom.
