  1. Hey mate, I had a look at the original photos and it did have the rubber grommets on mine down the bottom. However I changed the plenum to a standard but front facing and now the bolts are too short. Maybe I need to put a few washers on and then put the rubber on due to some variations in the plenum design. Even with the rubbers off the top ones on the bottom there is still a couple of mm gap.. nissan cant find me a part number without having a jap vin. Doesnt help the engine is an rb30det with nothing else to back it up. The gasket in question is a rubber gasket. However the guy I brought plenum off gave me a same design steel gasket with rubber rings on it that might be a bit thicker. Once I can get some more of these rubbers I will probably just space it out as my rubber gasket is in way better condition,
  2. Hey mate, As far as im aware only the top bolts had the grommets on them. If all the bolts need grommets then this would be my problem. Anyone have a genuine part # on these if thats what I need.
  3. Hey, I'm in the process of installing a front facing standard plenum on my rb25. The top section bolts go in fine and tightens up but the bolts underneath sit out from the runners about 3-4mm, Has anyone had this drama, Is there two style of plenums on rb25det, or are they supposed to sit out this much. I just cant see it offering a very good seal if they are not tightening the runners and plenum together. Any information would be great. This is not my original plenum rather one I purchased allready modified.
  4. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...E:IT&ih=011 back on ebay! It will definately be hitting the cupboard for long time storage if it doesnt sell this time around.
  5. Hey mate sorry about the late reply. You are correct any skyline running a pull type gearbox beside the 6 speed box, this converts it to a push type clutch so you can use a wider variety of clutches (mostly at a better price also). Still for sale anyway, dont want too loose much money on it so will hold onto it just for the sake that im sure someone will want it as I did.
  6. Also for more info, the clutch in question is an npc puck clutch to suit r34 5 speed box. I was wondering if anyone had to drill out there flywheel mounting lugs to get theres to fit? All the threaded holes seem to align? Any help would be great.
  7. Hey, Should and R34 5 Speed box use a 12" flywheel? I have a 12" flywheel on my car, recently purchased a brass button clutch but the holes are 5mm out to align the pressure plate, What flywheel do I have?
  8. Hey, Didnt sell it on ebay. Will take $400 with free freight anywhere in australia. Someone must want one. thanks.
  9. Plenty of people watching, someone must want it, starting at $150 under what I paid for it 3 weeks ago, need to recover funds from my npc clutch.
  10. For all those interested,
  11. Just listed it on ebay if anyones interested.. HERE
  12. Price drop $400, if no interest will try ebay..
  13. Heres a picture, Sorry I noticed theres a spring still in the bag not in the photo,
  14. Hey, Recently brought a push pull converter off this forum, & have decided to go in a different direction, I lubed it up the ball etc & have removed it, Will suit, r32/r33 & r34 5 speed transmissions. (6 speed gtr has a longer sleave) Chasing $450 pictures on request. thanks. Brisbane.
  15. Cool. I think I would be better off using the pull type, at least better then using a convertor, if I really wanted push better to put the r33 front cover on etc.
  16. Hey The clutch im looking at is a carbotic sprung brass button, I have a pull type gearbox *(34 5 speed) but I also have a push to pull convertor os giken type. Just wondering since theres only about $100 difference in the clutches would I be better off just using the pull type actuation, as I have heard of dramas with quick gearchanges & the push pull convertors not being able to keep up. But I cant find much information on the advantages/disadvantages.
  17. Hey, I got a very good price on an os giken r3c clutch for my r34 5 speed gearbox, installed it with a push pull convertor. & havent had a run with it yet. Either way I know these clutches can get a bit brutal & Im not looking to replace this box (almost brand new) anytime soon. The cars a rb30det 2.5 headed monster with a 35/40 / 8860. Since I have the push pull convertor in there now, would it be alot easier on my box to get button clutch to suit, im looking at 280-330rwkw on the dyno when she has her day. & have had a bit of experience with on off clutch driving when in my last car, what would you guys recommend (looking to spend around the price this clutch will sell for 2nd hand $700+ ) Thanks
  18. Hey mate, I took the majority of the grease off before I put it in. I was thinking about using the release bearing I got with the clutch which was a push type. It has a factory r33 carrier & I was just going to drill 2 holes in the sides of it for the holes for the spring. I will have a look otherwise might be up for the $140 they charge for a new carrier. (looking at the photos I have theres 3/4 an inch difference in size so will definately work for the clutch throw. Also figure Ive goto use an r33 slave cylinder as well.
  19. *** Come to think of it, the bearing carrier that came with the push pull converter is a fair bit bigger then the r33 carrier, I might try to modify the standard one and put that in. Has anyone had this problem before? Oh well goto pull it out anyway at this rate. Hopefully that solves it.
  20. Hey, Ive got an os giken r3c (triple plate) clutch that ive installed into my r34 boxed rb30det. Because of the orientation (pull type) Ive had to install a push pull convertor. All good installed the convertor and went to fit box to car, no worries, but the throwout bearing is hardup against the pressure plate & has no play. It recommends in the os instal guide to shave 4mm off the front cover.. So ive done that & the bearing is well clear of the shaft) I cant see whats gone wrong. Any help would be good heres a picture. The bearing cup (the bit on the swivel arm) Is over the top of the fork. Is this correct, Its the only thing I can think of.
  21. Hey mate, Do you want to sell me the clutch slave on its on, if so pm me.

    Autobarn

I think if you are looking for the mechanical bits and pieces you cant go past bursons, now that they have taken over coventry they have alot more stores around & I have found there service & pricing alot better then repco/autobarn/supercheap for off the st customers. Autobarn doesnt stock alot of stuff where I live. They do however have oils like royal purple and stuff that you cant get in alot of places off the shelf. There performance selection is crap & overpriced, with non brand name parts being sold for millions more then the same part sells for on ebay (which is why our local manager said he doesnt stock alot) There product knowledge can be decieving when you get told by a wholesaler they are the distributor for there product but youc all up and they have no idea what you are taking about, even with part number supplied. If you are looking for cheap gear with a walk around and gawk environment you cant go past supercheap for the goods. They have great buying power & will take back almost anything that has broken, even if its obvious its your fault. Although alot of there gear is dodgy I still use and abuse products of theres from 5 years ago, that smashed competitors in specials. Bursons ftw ! Most stores are a straight to the point environment. I like repco also but the trade pricing is better at bursons for me. But if you want the cheap knockoff or overpriced brand name performance gear & dont trust the internet then autobarn will do it.
