  3. YYYEEEHHH I totally forgot about that, what is the go? They need more Japan action and they need to focus on "Serious Performance" cars not stupid Toowoomba built rotor tanks What tha ("Rove") What was the track name they used?
  4. doxximus Skyliner I sense there is a lot of hate in you my son, you must not give into the dark side, remain focussed and be happy. Perhaps sing a little song..... 5. Well I just got my copy of SP6 from Perth and I hate to say it but I think the last one was better. Don't get me wrong, its still good and covers a number of cars of interest but there seems to be to much stuff that just doesn't interest me. Content: 8 car sr20det shootout Supra v Supra rotor merc new type R Turbo talk (quite interesting) Ryeece's white r32 gtr in NZ Sub Zero Forced R33 intercooler talk + some other stuff I cant remember, so it can't be that interestign to me. Its not too bad, the best thing is that most of the cars in this one are from QLD and the test area they used looks awesome, which I want to go and check out. ****[/color:86a554d38f]*
  6. I have been emailing Mark from CABIN and from what I have been told Drag Combat is going to be a regular event on the australian drag circuit. Perhaps every 2nd month with finals and grand finals etc. This really excites me as I have been waiting for this kind of thing for years, so if you guys want to see a regular event try emailing the guys from www.autosalon.org and tell them you want a regular event. Cam
  7. I can make you a bleed valve for about $20 and send it to you then just T it into the line between the turbo and the wastegate. What it does is bleed off excess boost and stops the wastegate openign as soon and thus allowing more gas onto the turbine wheels and there for makes more boost. Cam
  8. I just went down to the worshop (Cramer DP) and took a few snaps of Reveddie's (Luke) OS Giken which just returned from DCS in Brisbane after being re kitted with twin brass button 5 puck plates. More pics here [img:0730fe9f55]http://www.d-u-e-l.com/NEW_OS_5.JPG[/img:0730fe9f55]

  11. Birty Tint came with the car, its nasty purple stuff which will go soon for some fresh stuff. Side skirts are TYPE M factory ones, also came with the car.
  12. Sorry, its a new topic under performance. I hadn't seen this thread before I started mine
  13. A friend of mine and I were working in a silo doing some confined space cleaning (Good Money if you like the work) and another guy was wearing a cheap head lamp and after only 15 seconds in the space there was a big flash, we got very hot and very scared. Fortunately the vents had been open for 48 hours prior and most of the gasses had escaped. So yes, torches can ignight fumes. Cam
  14. Well I have been driving since 1994 and started off with a few bits and pieces and made do. After a while I decided that if I was in the middle of something and had to spend more than 5 minutes trying to work out how to do something with what I had then I should just go and buy the right tool. That's about it really, I can assure you that this is a good plan as often it is the frustration of only doing something half as good or not being able to do it at all that turns people away from diy mods. I'd hate to think how much I have spent but I do enjoy thinking that I saved myself nearly $1000 on installing my fmic and so on. Cam P.S. Repco tools are very good, I have 3 of their shifters with the mm marks and they are awesome, one rusted so I took it back and without question they changed it. You can even use it for other purposes and not void the warrenty which is good as often I use the big shifter as a hammer
  15. Gents I have made a post about this that may help some of you. Cam
  16. OOOps, now I have forgotten to answer it....DOH Best place to measure the boost pre ic is probably in the line to the wastegate as there isn't anywhere else to tap in unless you weld on a barb on the pipe somewhere. Formular.....Not a simple one as the shaft speed v boost can change based on trim of wheels. e.g. a turbo with a small exhaust wheel producing 10psi may have shaft speed of 30000rpm but a turbo with a large exhaust wheel producing 10psi may have shaft speed of only 20000rpm I imagine there is a formular but there is a lot of aspects to consider Sorry I can't help more Cam
  17. OMG an un-answered post Shame on you lot....shame
  18. Thanks mate, its great to help people out and I have learned heaps from this forum as well.
  19. Heaps of people have commented on the mods and projects I have undertaken on my car saying, how do you do it, how can I do it and I wouldn't have a clue how to do that or where to start. I am by no means the worlds greatest technician, mechanic, electrician or custom fabricator but I give it a go. For years I worked with limited tools of nasty quality and this just made the job harder and the results less professional. Then I saved some cash and spent it on GOOD tools and quality gear to make the job faster, easier and more professional. 20. It Seems that heaps of guys on here and SDU have reported their engine stalling at low rpm, say as you approach an intersetion or your driveway and get on the clutch and allow the rpm to drop off, sometimes it drops so low that the car stalls. POSSIBLE CAUSES: While there seems to be heaps of possible causes I have personally found a way to solve it in my instance, I had the problem and now it gone, here's how. Find the earth wire from the pump and cut it and run it directly to a good ground on some bare metal in the boot area......fixed. Now it is possible that this may not fix YOUR problem but it did fix mine, that was until I pushed the power up and the pump could no longer sustain the fuel supply. The reason this worked is because the R32 and the silvia's (possibly more) use a weird earth switch to the pump to keep it quiet at idle and low rpm. when the rpm drops say at idle the pump sent only half of its normal current, just enough to keep the pump going. By hard wiring it to the chassis you keep full current to the pump all the time. I have done this on both a 180 and my car, both had the problem of stalling and now neither do. Give it a go, may save you the cost of the pump if it isn't the pump. What you need: Small phillips head screw driver Small flat tip screw driver large phillips head screw driver wire snips solderer solder heat shrink hair dryer (do not use a lighter as you are working next to a fuel tank !!) elecrical tape sand paper self tapping screw electric drill with phillips head bit about 30 minutes Oh and by the way do not shine a torch into your fuel tank as most torches are not intrinsically safe and can cause your fuel tank to explode. Go hard. Cam
  21. B_D_P Thanks, I used a piece of 3mm mild steel sheet for the section that bolts to the afm and I used a mild steel 3" 45 degree bend for the bend and a 3"-4" mild steel transition to flare up to the 4" opening of the HKS filter. It has all been powder coated in the new colour that I am going with in the engine bay ( cam covers included ) Always powder coat or paint mild steel as it rusts. I would have preffered to use stainless but I have no ss wire for my MIG and not to mention that it is so hard to work with due to its tuffness. AFM is the standard RB20 item (80mm) which is the same diameter as the Z32 one, from what I have been told the z32 item reads the air flow differently and thats why guys change to it. I was going to go this way but decided to change to 550cc injectors instead as this will reduce the load on the AFM, and I get bigger injectors
  22. It has taken over 7 hours of scanning, touching up etc but all my pics are up on my site along with squzz's ALL THE PICS BY DUEL
  23. OK I have uploaded SQUIZZ's pics to my site so check em out. Mine will follow soon and also some of the lovely ladies there on the day PICS BY SQUIZZ
  24. Just want to say that I thought the weekend was great, even though it rained on Saturday morning and caused Drag Combat to be post-poned till Sunday I was glad in a way as it gave me and the other guys from DUEL time to catch up with some sleep that we missed out on the night before. My friends cousin is the head rep for Sony Car Audio and had come up with about 12 of his mates including Ben Ellis from HPI, we took a couple of them out for a thrash around the coast and they loved it. Especially the car park which blew them away on Saturday night. The racing was good but like most I was dissapointed that no Australian GTR ran a 9 sec pass....how hard can it be? The guys from IMS were a supprise with some tuff cars and quck times, its amazing how much tuffer a GTR sounds with no exhaust, most of their cars had HUGE brake upgrades which is often forgotten when modding your car. Basically it was good fun, there were heaps of skylines (cruise/race) and I got to meat some really cool people like URMINE (Glad Luke could help with your car) & MERL & BY BY from Sydney. Pics to come soon, I didn't use the digital on the weekend so my 7 rolls of film ( 168 shots of the drags, cruise and carpark ) are at the lab now so stay tuned. Cam
