Hey everyone, simple one, I'm looking to see who recommends what engine builders here in SA. I've dealt with Lewis Engines before, but wasn't super impressed, plus i've heard mixed reports. Ideally looking for a Nissan specific builder. Someone who takes care and has the right equipment to build a reliable RB. I have heard of Allen Engineering in Mallala, and apparently they know their Nissan engines. YES i'm on a budget, i dont have unlimited $$ for this, at this stage i'm looking to chat to the builders, decide on one, see what engine components they like to use, order them, then give him my head and block and let them work their magic. Give me your opinions, thanks. NOT LOOKING FOR ANYTHING INTERSTATE. Thanks.

Hey everyone, i have for sale my project Bluebird TRX. Its a factory 5 speed manual, fitted with a CA18DE engine. I did the entire engine conversion along with my mate who half owns it. It is a great little car and handles quite well. Really gets up and moving with the CA18. Very good project car for someone wanting to get into drifting or racing. Or it makes a very good little daily. Its only done 100km since being registered and fully serviced. The car IS P plate friendly and legal as it is a non turbo-charged engine. Make/Model: S3 Nissan Bluebird TRX Year: 1985 Kilometers: 216,xxx on Chassis, 86,xxx on Engine Transmission type: 5 Speed Factory manual Engine: S13 180SX/Silvia CA18DE Colour: White Modifications: Engine/drivetrain: 86,xxx kmS13 180SX/Silvia CA18DE Stainless Extractors Factory exhaust from the resonator back – Super super quiet! Other Comments: Interior: Very clean interior for its age, a few burns etc in the carpet, some of the plastics are starting to crack/fray but overall its clean inside. Dash is in very good condition. All electrics work WORKING Air conditioning Short shifter 200W Alpine CD player 5” Kenwood front speakers Pioneer 6x9’s Custom black carpeted MDF parcel shelf Sports steering wheel and boss kit Exterior Unfortunately its missing the front air dam. Body is quite straight, has a few dents being an old car Paint work is ok, a little average in areas. Unfortunately it was fitted with gas at some point, and the gas pillar is in the rear quarter panel. Factory TRX Wheels + TRX spare alloy wheel All headlights, indicators, brake lights etc work. White LED parkers It has a large battery, it has just had the following serviced; Engine oil, oil filter, spark plugs, brake fluid, radiator hoses, coolant, thermostat, New timing belt and gearbox oil. Large battery fitted. To get the most out of its performance, a more free flowing exhaust and a 4.11:1 diff could be fitted and it will be quite the little rocket. SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY PLEASE! I dont have the time for tyre kickers.

What Parts To Buy For My Rb26 Engine Build?
kitto replied to kitto's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Ok, so revving hi isn't going to happen. In that regard, what turbo and head work should i be looking at? Cams etc? -
What Parts To Buy For My Rb26 Engine Build?
kitto replied to kitto's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I can see your point, and i agree with it. Probably wanting something that just isn't realistic. Yes i'm chasing around 350kW, as anything more just isn't going to be any use in an R31. I did know it was going to be an impossible task to get an engine to rev high on a budget but ah well. The more important factors are; Reliability and longevity and response. -
What Parts To Buy For My Rb26 Engine Build?
kitto replied to kitto's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I know, i have thought of this. Small power output, needs a smaller turbo. Higher revs needs a larger turbo = more power. To get a 26 to rev to that, you'd a fairly large turbo so that it operates in its efficiency range. I just love a high revving engine, its just bliss! Tomei pump is pretty much a goer, yes i have looked at camtech cams before. I will be running forged internals, even though stock Nissan items would cope, i want that piece of mind. -
Hey everyone, i'll try and keep this short so its easy to read. I'm building an RB26 for race use. Now i dont have unlimited cash for it, but i havn't really set out a budget yet either. But i'm looking to buy the best quality parts i can get without being rediculous... What i want the engine to be able to do; Power: 300 - 350kW Power range: 3,000 - 8,500/9,000RPM, yes i want it to rev high! Reliability and longevity Response within that rev range. Now i'm not interested in talking about turbos, manifolds or fuel systems at this point, just engine internal parts, block and head.. Basically what i'm asking for is your advice on what parts i should be getting, your personal opinion, value for money, have you heard of XX part failing and what happened etc etc. Just wanting some input so i can make up my mind and start purchasing. I'll be after advice on; Rods Pistons Rings Bearings ARP Studs will be used throughout... Gaskets (mainly head gasket) Oil pumps - I'm thinking Tomei Harmonic balancer Clutch - I'll need this for when the engine is being assembled... Head components; Cams Valve springs Valves Valve guides/seats Just throw us some feedback on what you thinks good guys. I'm hoping to have ALL the long motor parts for $8k - $10k. Then there will be engine assembly, manifolds, turbo, fuel system, management, pipework etc costs on top of that. My main goal is to make this engine last for a long time!

I've got one here in Adelaide. Perfect dondition. Comes with dump pipe, actuator, turbo elbow, ALL lines, oil drain, turbo technics boost controller. PM if interested.
-
Stupid forum won't let me PM people for some reason... Thanks for the offer champ, but i'd prefer a crank that hasn't had a spun bearing going around it, even though yes you could regrind it. Block thats been sleeved, not so keen sorry matey. Freight from Tassie would be rediculous anyway. Cheers though -Still looking guys!
-
Hey all, as the title says, i'm after an RB26 block and crank girdle. I'm also sorta chasing a crank as well. Would prefer an R33 item but will consider the shitty R32 crank. Bores must be in good condition and must not have or require any boring. I would like to stay with the 86mm bore. They'll need a hone obviously though. Must also have stock deck height. Engine will be built for a motorsport application so it needs to be healthy I'm located in SA, but will consider interstate if your willing to freight. Pricing; i'm not paying some rediculous amount of money for a block and crank. But let me know what your after for it.... PM me. Cheers.

What Is A S/h Rb26dett Block Worth How Much $$?
kitto replied to kitto's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
He didn't give me a price in the thread no, but i saw what he was asking in his forsale thread. I have been looking in the for sale thread, but prices range from $200 to $1500 for a block! I'm asking what one would actually be worth, because the guy that sold me the engine is going to refund me the cost of a replacement block. Hench my question to ask how much one is 'fairly' worth. Second hand block may well be the go, but there is never a way of telling how many cracks are in it until its tested. And although i'm not chasing heaps of power, i want revs and repsonse and i want it to last.
