  1. mate has offered to sell me a complete factory series II turbo setup ( turbo, ECU, manifold, injectors, heatshield ) to bolt striaght onto my series 1 R33 NA. for $350. no shaft play etc... couple of things i thought might be worht checking first tho, the NA fuel pump im guessing mightnt be enough, so will i need to get a GTSt/GTR one? or will it suffice for the short term. otherwise obviously it may run TOO lean. also, any extra lines i might need to run? (water, oil)

  3. Have for sale: RB25 turbo kit, all standard, includes the following: Turbo + Turbo Elbow. - Excellent condition, came off a low k's R33. Manifold Oil + Water Lines + All fittings. Dump + Front pipe. FMIC (No piping) Turbosmart BOV Chipped ECU (Boost + Speed cut removed) AFM Injectors + Fuel Rail. Also have a low k's (80,+++) RB25DET bottom end, will sell cheap with the above kit. $800 ono

  6. have a quater tank left, and have done 310ks on a single tank of ultimate so far.... on V-power would struggle to make 300 comfortably. driving is around a largeish country town so a fair bit of stop/starting

  9. true enough, but there are some real dickheads on the roads. if they hit you or your in an accident caused by them, your still screwed

  11. had mods done? mods will push up the price a bit. also because your 17 your a high risk, and the car would be classed as a high performance grey import, hence your screwed
  12. ouch....want atleast +20 offset, so 25mm spacers would do the trick. and they do exist afaik. idealy +10 or +15 is what you want. how snugly do the rears fit tho?

  14. i pay 2160 per year with custom cars (GIO) in monthly installments of $198. at the time worked a bit better for me as i couldnt afford $2k up front in one hit which is what just cars wanted me to do. mind you at the time i was 17 and on my Ls and had just bought my car so i was broke hardcore . just car and custom cars were the only two i could find that would even bother considering me. will re-evaluate this year tho along with custom plates. aiming to keep my driving record as clean as possible to reduce my excess
  15. have noticed now i switched to BP my idle is much cleaner, bit more responsive too
  16. well interestingly enough, now the weathers cooled down a bit, took it for a spin after work, seems to be a bit quicker now. plenty of top end grunt but still lacking a bit in the lower revs. taking it back to the shop Monday to get a second muffler fitted as it wasn't quite finished the other day, so hopefully with the addition of the second muffler, and addition to restriction, should regain me some back pressure moral of the story i think is i shouldve got a 2.25" system instead. either way the stock system had to go (had the annoying metallic sound that all 33s get) ED: 40th ed, the first part of that article is true, a stock engine with modified elements is bound to unbalance the rest, which is what iv done by the looks
  17. i always thought it was the other way round, smaller exhausts on turbos otherwise the turbo would lag....hmmm. so in theory, my old exhaust, with its one really weird bend, creates more backpressure, therefore is better for my performance now? other issue i thought of was heat soak, seeing as it has been 40+degrees the past 3 days down here
  18. after hmming and harring for months now i finally decided it was time for a new exhaust. simple, 2.5" straight through, couple of mufflers to hush it a bit but keep a note. to cut a long story short, the 2.5" has taken away some of (enough to be quite noticable) my pickup. what i dont get is how a 2.5" can get worse performance than the stock 2 1/14" one that had a blitz cannon on it and a aftermarket resonater (EPA ) in more detail, the new system, 2.5" catback, what looks to be a big f**koff resonator (about 40cm long? :S) to a single muffler in the back (apparently one they use on 5.0L commodores) feeding to twin medium sized tips. just below 2k revs, it has the distinct sound of a clapped out VN commodore . im not happy anyway cos its way too loud, my exhaust dealer said the same, hence why havnt actually got a quote for the system as of yet, but i want to know why iv lost performance and what i can do to get it back and then some. i go back to the shop monday arvo to sort it out (getting a second muffler put in somewhere), so any ideas before then would be appreciated. car in question is a bone stock SI R33 GTS25 non-turbo. RB25DE. people have already said to put my cannon back on it to free it up a bit, its half tempting at this stage. cheers

Surprised there hasnt been an ongoing sticky topic for this, but what fuel do you all use? how would you rate it? what kms do you get? any brands better/worse than others? i myself use Shell V-Power (98RON) get generally 350kms around town per tank and 500-550 out on the open road. Series 1 RB25DE with no mods bar intake. might be good to help out newbies in the skyline scene and prevent confusion about what fuel is recommended for RBs.
