what are peoples opinions on castrol edge 10W 60? . . . for a cold environment so cold starts happen quite often

whats the whine in that vid? sounds like my gearbox before it lost 3rd gear :S am slightly tempted by this though, if only i had the funds. are you going to keep the heatshielding for it? cos id be interested in that atleast as i have pretty much the same setup just internal gated. also have you got a pic of the turbonetics stamp on the rear housing? (i think thats where it is)

hmm, anyone know what exactly i should use in this case then? someone did suggest to me a motul "shockproof" fluid? not sure what it is and where i get it but yeah. so far theres been no whines or bearing noises so i guess thats a good sign for now. and thanks for the news daniel...

so after having replaced my blown 25DE box with a stronger 25DET box to cope with the obvious power gains of going from sub 100kws NA power to over 200kw forced, all is well apart from a couple of things. firstly, when under mild load, 4th gear tends to crunch in, hence, you pretty much have to granny it into 4th otherwise youl hear a beautiful noise and feel it up your left arm. is this a sign of an aging box on its way out? clutch is bled properly too btw, every other gear theres no issue. is there anything i can do, without pulling it apart to prolong its life? additives or....im running castrol VMX80 in it atm. is there a thicker oil maybe i should be using secondly, are 25DET speedo senders a different part to the 25DE ones...main reason is my speedo is pretty much half scaler, ie 20 is 40, 30 is 60, 40 is 80 etc... help is much appreciated

well see problem is, the plugs on the non-turbo loom were different to the ones on the turbo loom, so we had to swap them over, obviously not in the right order. going to put it over a pit tomorom and just trial and error it...should be fun!

okay, turns out when i bought the car the dealership stooged me. said they put a turbo box in but they didnt. so iv got a non-turbo RB25 box, thrid gear fell out of the sump plug when i pulled it out. would definitely suit a rebuild with a new gearset id say, OS Giken or something similar comes to mind. if you want it RSpec its yours. otherwise still up for grabs
