Hi Octane also do it if willing to ship to Sydney. Here is a picture of some: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/365695-race-r35-build/page__st__20 And their site is here: http://www.performancecoating.com.au/ Cheers Marty

No there is no welding of the chamber and it's no larger than stock (well they have been CC'd and matched in volume so close enough to stock size). Because this job has to be out the door so quick for GT Auto's project we are not going to town on them. We have some more coming to be cut up and developed like the rest of the head's available that we do. To all those out there these heads are pretty good in stock form from Nissan. It's not like the 2JZ head where we weld up the exhaust runners and make our own for better flow or the Ford BA/BF/FG Turbo 6cyl where the chamber needs to be changed with much larger seats and valves to make a decent product. Anyway back to the project. We found out some interesting news today about the factory computer system and how it slips the clutch if you make too much torque/boost etc as a failsafe. No good for our project so we have been working with HKS Japan and have a solution using the F-Con V-Pro. I'm not sure how the other cars go with this problem and the Cobb Tuning but we have it sorted. You can see HKS TV for some cool updates: http://www.hks-tv.com/watch/?watch=158&tabsnm=2 Cheers Marty

Yes you guys are correct. I contacted my customer about this today and their race car had ECU issues so had to swap all the parts to make it run without contacting Nissan (import car). Sorry to the OP for any confusion with my post about changing keys by Nissan. Cheers Marty
-
You know there is a lot more to do than replacing the ignition barrel for new keys don't you. They will need to swap at least the ECU, Transmission ECU, Body Control Module and all the Security control moudules including the steering column as it has an inbult sensor for security that cannot be removed. Then it all needs to be reprogrammed as they are locked to the VIN. Sounds like it will still be expensive. Anyway good luck Cheers Marty

Hello bigmikespec - You might want to ask GT Auto about the head work as they are available from them. Maybe send a PM as they might not want to post that information. I know they have full CNC packages for RB26 SR20 4G63 2JZ etc etc. Cheers Marty

No. It has custom seats and guides installed. It's then been on the Newen Contour Epoc Machine for bowl and seat work. Runners don't require porting as their cross sectional area volume is large enough when analized with the oversize Ferrea Valves. This will keep the gas velosity up. Porting the runners goes backward in flow and you would need to be super carful as they are thin to start with in some areas when sonically tested. Cheers Marty

Hks Ct230R Coming To Australia
Martin HKS replied to Martin HKS's topic in General Automotive Discussion
We would love to see it race but it's just not going to happen. Also it's 100% still original from it's last record breaking lap. Still well worth seeing. Here is why it can't race. Cheers Marty -
Yes it was more my point that Top Secret have be re-branding HKS parts for years (same as Mines). It's a great upgrade and one of the biggest restrictions on the earlier GTR so hope you have a nice tune to match for maximum gain. You name by any chance isn't James is it? Can't wait to see the titanium I/C pipework. Cheers Marty
-
They look very much like the HKS intake pipes......... Cheers Marty
-
What's the before and after flow figures on the heads? Is there any inconsistancy with chamber volumes when they cc'd them? Cheers Marty
-
Well done Drew and GT Auto. Keep the progress info / pics coming. Cheers HKS Australia Here is a few sample pics for you all.

This is pretty good but a little more than your budget. http://www.hksaustralia.com.au/component/content/article/34/163-new-product-49010-ak001 It even has GPS and G-Sensor so if your car is unattended and gets reversed in to it will start recording (due to the G-Sensor) to catch the person responsible. It's great for recording motorsport as well with 2 cameras to catch all the action. GoPro's are great for out-doors activity but this is better for in car recording. Cheers Marty
-
Well - we finally have it coming. More info to follow. Cheers HKS Australia
-
Yes it will once installed on your car Dru..............Hehehe Cheers Marty

It will be interesting to see what the new HKS V-Pro http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Hk...ar-t330492.html has to offer in comparison. Is this available in Australia yet Martin? Cheers Marty

Sounds like an awsome little project Peter. I also have Carrillo leave every week but only deal with JE Pistons so can't help with CP's. Let me know if you need any help. Cheers Marty
-
Darton Sleeves told me this morning I can have a set in about two weeks if it helps. Cheers Marty

HKS have developed (still in trial) an Exhaust V-Cam Setup already. They are also trying high pressure fuel injection for the RB26. Just a few of the goodies HKS have coming for their "Restart RB26 Project" Cheers Marty

No idea. That's the info I found and there's a number so give it a call. Cheers Marty

FATAZ HIGH PERFORMANCE CARS 2 SAUNDERS PLACE WYNNUM QLD 4178 3396 5382 or 0415960795 Ask for Woody. Cheers Marty

Why didn't you go with the HKS GT600 kit? Are you doing the rest of the Exhaust as well? Cheers Marty

Yes Daniel I work at Performance Wholesale. As far as Mahle/Clevite owning some part of ACL may be correct but it's still an ACL ring. Mahle Pistons as a company don't have anything to do with it. Guess it's like JE Pistons and Wiseco being owned by the same group but run as completely seperate companies. Yes all piston manufacturers use rings from different companies for a given application. It's not like there millions of ring makers out there. You can count them on one hand. Anyway ACL Race have stopped supplying pistons currently and Mahle have wanted us to sell there line for a long time now but we have better success with JE's over any other brand out there. Mind you we do concentrate on the top end stuff mostly. We have found the Wiseco to always crack around the pin bore when pushed hard. Mahle have good pistons but some high profile V8 Supercar Team (see DirtGarage for who) who are sampling them are having a few dramas. So for severe duty applications top of the list is JE or CP Pistons. We are also having JE make more of their SRP Professional Series which are better value then most other brands out there. Anyway enough dribble for now as everyone is going to have their own opinion about "the best piston". Different pistons suit different applications. Cheers Marty
-
Not sure that's true. ACL make rings for Ross Pistons as well as other big name piston manufactures. Mahle and JE also use Total Seal Ring sets. Different size/application pistons from the same supplier will have rings sourced from different places. Also Trent - Did you give Performance Wholesale a try for the rings as being Australian distributor of Total Seal Rings they can have almost anything made. Shoot me an email if you are ever stuck again. Cheers Marty
-
Correct. Runs the HKS GT570 upgrade package including HKS Exhaust System supplied by the HKS Australian Distributor - Performance Wholesale. Might see if he wants to upgrade to the HKS GT600 package.... Cheers Marty
