Any more info you could possibly supply........ Cheers Marty

Care to explain this as by design it can't happen. It has a spring to hold it closed under light vacuum and only opens under high vacuum from the manifold. So as soon as you start opening the throttle again it is closed. It shouldn't have anything to do with making the turbo's laggy. If the BOV vents while boosting there is deffinately something wrong. Cheers Marty

If it's a genuine HKS SSQV it doesn't have an adjusting screw in it as it's not required. Cheers Marty

As of now HKS have signed a few more dealers in Australia (total of 8 currently) with GT Auto Garage being one of them. HKS were very impressed with GT Auto facility and level of workmanship otherwise they would not have been signed up. They were also trained on the upcoming new F-Con to be released shortly. If HKS think this workshop is worthy I can't see you having a problem. Cheers Marty

Yes Andrew. HKS make their own. I was always suspect of this till I saw it with my own eyes on my visit to them earlier this year. They actually make most thing in house. Quite amazing. Cheers Marty

In our experience using 1/2 inch studs in the RB30 block cause the deck to distort when torqued as you need to be around 100 foot pound. The RB30 has a thinner deck than it's little brothers (RB25/26) and the largest size we have sucessfully seen is 12mm (slightly smaller than 1/2 inch). For ease of fitment the RB25 work fine. Cannot be sure of other brands but HKS definately make their own. I never thought they did until I visited them earlier this year and saw it first hand. I also know Cosworth make Jun and Ross used to make ACL but they are now changing to Mahle when they finally get their act together. Also there are only a few ring manufactuers in the world so most Piston companies purchase from different suppliers pending their needs. We sell Total Seal Rings which most of these companies purchase from and repackage for their own branding. As to what is the best piston - that is a broad statement and there are many different choices pending your needs. For most street applications all the above mentioned will do the job. As for a race engines I know that more than 75% of V8 Supercars use a JE Piston above anything else. That has to spell something about the other brands........ Cheers Marty

I don't have a thread chart in front of me to check but I wouldn't have thought you could get the 11mm to clean up nicely to tap 12mm. As long as they chase the pitch correctly when tapping I guess you can do it. I would probably save the headache and use the RB25 head studs. That way it also stops the flimsy RB30 deck from warping when you try clamping down the 12mm studs to 85 foot pound. Cheers Marty

Being an SR Piston, don't they need a notch in the skirt for the oil squirter? Cheers Marty
-
You can't drill and tap the block from 11mm to 12mm! The thread will never clean up. You can helicoil it. I'm not sure what others have done. Cheers Marty

Hks Will It Fit? Hmmmm How High?
Martin HKS replied to R32 Driver's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
It made 885.8hp at the wheel back in 2005. Here is the link http://www.xspeed.com.au/secret.php?area=n...mp;secret_id=85 I'm pretty sure 885 is a long way from 540hp......... Cheers Marty -

Here is the HKS breakdown on kits. We all know you can run them a lot harder than HKS recommend just like stock. They are all 2771cc displacement using 77.7mm full counter stroke crankshaft and 87.0mm bore. Step 1 and 2 have 21mm pin while the discontinued Step 3 used 22.0mm. HKS Step 1 = Forged Crank, Piston, and Forged Conrods HKS Step 2 = Lightened Forged Crank, Nickel Coated Pistons with Titanium Coated Rings and Forged Conrods HKS Step 3 = Billet Crank, Nickel Coated Pistons with Titanium Coated Rings and Forged Conrods in 22mm Cheers Marty

Which Hks Pipe Kit Am I After.....help!
Martin HKS replied to Bakes's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I can only tell you what's in the kits when I sell them and they don't include the intake pipes. Sorry. Cheers Marty -
Yep, she calls a few times a day. Busy working for KRE (her husband). I can't believe the amount of engines Ken pumps out the door. The guy doesn't sleep! Cheers for asking. Anyway back on topic now - sorry. Regards Marty

Maybe you need to give Mark a call and have a chat with him. It is standard repalcement for you T51R SPL BB in every way. Got to love another 200HP...... Cheers Marty

Here is some pics of the 1st HKS T62R BB in Australia that is sitting on my desk. HP junkies enquire to [email protected] Cheers Marty

HKS stopped making the Step 3 kit over a year ago. I can only sell you the Step 2 or 1 these days. The only way you will purchase the last Step 3 kit is to buy the complete HKS R33 Drag long motor I have for sale. It's a spare that was built for the R33 Drag Car that retired before needing this engine. If anyone is serious about it enquire to [email protected] Otherwise the HKS 2.8 gives more capacity than the rivals if you are going to stroke it and will happily see the revs required to make the RH9 club. Wrong. The Racing Chamber kit does not include pipwork to the turbo from filters. The picture in catalogue/website is Racing Chamber and Racing Suction Kit together. Cheers Marty
