    cruising back from the gong
  4. just before i forget.....whats the personal income tax rate there?
  5. thanks for the info and personal insight into this evo_lee...a few things the job offer is extremely tasty in the financial sense, something to the tune of potentially 2 times what im on now! its just a matter of weighing up the financial reward vs the lifestyle change (i'll explain that in the next paragraph). in terms of experience and career choice, i will be moving into an identical job description but with more opportunities for travel to europe and back. also a smaller team so the responsibility will be high....all good things, especially the o'seas exposure as it will look 'ace' on my resume and yeah, i only planned a 2 or 3 year stint....I will always call australia home mate i'm hearing that the japanese economy is actually picking up? with how many years of stagflation/deflation you'd be thinking the only way is up from here??? in any case im applying tomorrow so hope its not too late! this could all be just a fart in the air so fingers crossed
  6. ah this is great info thanks dude! you reckon being a foreigner you're getting the wrong end of the stick??? yang! i knew it was a 7/11!!!
  7. i would settle for *any* colour E55........ i would sell my left nut......well...maybe not to that degree

  9. why would the EPA be worried about your hid's?!
  10. i wanna go out tomorrow morning but i've gotta be back in sydney by 11am. damnit!!! tomorrow it starts at 10am. i'll probably have to only catch 30mins of the action
  11. "ours" ? if you dont want it, i'll take it off you
  12. keep the skyline! the only european cars i'd own are all too expensive! (see exhibit: A) jap cars, whilst cheap, have too much fun attached to them - and you can't put a price on fun. don't let the plods discourage you. cop the suspension on the chin, drive sensibly on the roads, go crazy on a track and stay away from big street meetups. exhibit A: see, it suits me doesnt it? not much to do to this car....bling ala bling!
  13. but r34 gtt't's are better than r33 gtr's
  14. ahhh..i bet it was well for me it'll be totally different, but dont tell my g/f that
  15. ah this is great! thanks dude. i will check it out later this weekend...! yeah the offer im getting is very good, otherwise i wouldnt even consider it. of course the attraction to live in japan is also very strong, but so is family and friends in sydney and the lifestyle i have now.... i guess the choice is very individual, what made you guys go over to japan???
  16. thanks for the responses guys, i will take another look at PF over the weekend actually....! an opportunity has arisen for a job, of the exact same nature as what currently doing now, in tokyo....last night i started to get my resume together and will be applying shortly but the potential to relocate is quite good!!! (well in my eyes anyways! hahah) what is worrying me, and i think will ultimately be a large factor in my decision to move, is how much financial reward there is after costs of living, tax, etc etc. so to give me a better understanding of what my costs are and what that financial reward is, of course considering the other spin offs of relocating to japan, will ultimately paint me a better picture of how good this opportunity really is... the potential client will give me 1 months relocations grace, but after that it'll be up to me to sustain and find my own place...so any solid numbers would be terrific!
  17. hahah yeah thats all understandable dude i just wanted it in big writing so i can do the maths easier subways are fine to get around in - i actually enjoy the subways was it an AM PM around the corner from where we stayed!??!! i can't remember!
  18. konichiwa! i need to fairly quickly get an understanding of costs of living in tokyo, could someone please give me a breakdown of living costs? *** rent *** i'll have to find out where i'd want to live but any indication of what your currently paying and what the neighbouring suburbs around are fetching? and a desciption of the norm...stuido? 1 bedroom? 2 bedroom? *** food *** do you cook yourself or do you live out of a seven-11? *** travel *** how much does it cost to travel to work each day and by what method? if you'd feel more comfortable emailing me, then please do at [email protected] any help would be greatly appreciated! cheers, franky
  19. sounds like you have lots of money to waste!!! save your money, buy the right car the first time and do all your modifications once. half the time people spend too much money picking the right car for them whilst the other half of the time the car is spent in a workshop being worked on - where do you find time enjoying the car!? buy the right car for you and your budget, plan your mods and enjoy the car. cars are meant to be driven. they werent supposed to be sitting in a garage. :headspin:
  20. i've had front camber bushes put in since (unfortunately we can't get strut tops being macpherson struts) whiteline could only get -ve 1.75 degrees...i'm unsure if there's a larger camber bush to push more....but this wasnt the most significant change in turning dynamics for me, partly because i dont think 1.75 degrees is enough for a track, the biggest bang for buck improvement was softening my front sway bar. initial turn in was still excellent but post apex understeer was significantly reduced. whiteline have always provided the goods for both my cars so i havent adventured much further. their kit is not comprehensive, they dont have a coil overs for the GTT (i believe they were waiting on a matching shock to be developed for them from germany or something...) that said, there is always the jap stuff available to you, i'll have to check my HyperRev magazine for bolt on coil overs for the ER34. Heasmans or East Coast suspension will be your next bet on suspension gear in Sydney...
  21. stop kiddin yourself guys, we all know yellow is where it is at.... congrats dude, looks like you have picked yourself up a ripper. all the best with it. whiteline kit is fine btw. if you want some alignment settings let me know, i think i have it setup jusssst right
  22. i guess he has more money than he can poke a stick at i mean, you can only throw so much money into a car on engine modifications before he goes fully sick mayte on the interior. all i want is boost, exhaust temp, oil temp and water temp gauges....thats not being picky is it!
  23. i knew those gauges looked familiar! http://www.cardomain.com/id/spar7
  24. some of you people aren't driving (read: enjoying) your cars as much as you should be! hahaha.... what are you guys doing , just leaving the car in the garage as a mantlepiece!??!!? i've had to change HEAPS of things!!! its such a piece of shit!!!! -swaybars -camber bushes -castor bushes -intercooler -exhaust -front bar -ecu (yup! even the standard computer had to go!!!) -i even had to fit an oil cooler!!! have bought but need to be installed: -turbo -clutch -fuel pump -z32 afm -fuel regulator as you can see, lots of things can go wrong with this car!!!!!!! :D
