  1. hey dude, no need to be jealous, you've got a nice ride yourself! didnt think anyone from sau lived around burwood as i never get spotted! i was going to turn around and chase you down parra rd, i was feelin' a little randy
  2. f00k! no imports hey. oh well...........i have nothing more to add to this thread
  3. i was lucky enough to attend a nissan drive day out at eastern creek for fleet cars - so it had maxima's, patrol's, pulsar's etc aswell as the zed's in all formats soft top, coupe, tiptronic, manual, track blah blah... pics here http://www.gavincato.com/frankster/nissan_...ive_day?&page=1 1 word ... awesome i dont know wether im getting too old and impatient and therefore "over turbo lag" but the standout point for me would have to be its response. you push the accelerator and you are engulfed in this world of torque and sweet sounding engine. the track version with its brembo's were obviously braking better later on in the day, but even with the stock brakes, braking was awesome. second to this would have to be its handling and braking. even in the soft top version, this felt a little heavier than the coupe, handling was awesome. extremely good balance, no hint of understeer and the ability to invoke oversteer with your right foot. points i didnt like were the interior. i think whilst its pretty to look at, the interior felt plastic and fake. the seats are wonderful, driving position wonderful but space is a little scarce. if i didnt feel the need for a backseat, then this car would definately be on my list. i think it craps all over the honda s2k in terms of performance, id like to compare it to a boxster though

  5. geez that yellow is nice! gotta get white wheels now dunc
  6. you will have heaps of fun! good onya nick for giving it a go! sounds like the mr2 will be mauled by the fire breathing Zed's and R's on the day though?!? but, you'll have equal amount of fun regardless of the car you're in these vids will give you an idea of the track from the outside: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/photopost..._and_franks.wmv from the inside: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/photopost...franks_laps.wmv and heres what NOT to do http://www.members.optusnet.com.au/[email protected]
  7. oh...some funny comments but attrocious driving!!! russ is a very lucky man, the 02 sti even luckier. i guess it was a case of russ's excitement getting the better of him.
  8. well from what wld33r says, looks like he's just damaged a wheel and tyre? afaik, luckily he didnt tbone the 02 sti, he just went straight past him, up the inside, and straight off the end of the track hahahaha....
  9. hahaha.....well all i can say is russ and jimmy are absolute classics. the video has gone quite far actually, apparently spreading quite quickly throughout the performance car forums i think its gathering momentum, its all over rexnet and is one very popular video at the moment
  10. hahah duncan....always a stirrer glad you liked the vid, i still watch it
  11. luke, is that you??? i've heard stories about that...............id love to have a yarn with you about it
  12. for the UK subscribers, i just wonder what the price disparity is between say a japanese car and a european car is over there? here, fast european cars are damn expensive. on the other hand, fast japanese cars are damn cheap. hence the popularity and affordability of fast japanese cars in australia. i just sense lots of europeans choose fast european cars over fast japanese cars - i know I would personally rather drive an e46 m3 or 911 turbo over a skyline......
  13. okay .... this is absolute gold. this was from last thursday's trackday.... it speaks for itself. highly stupid thing to do, but the commentary is just tooooooooo funnyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!! http://www.members.optusnet.com.au/[email protected]
  14. rightio, well it seems as though your thermostat is working a little better than mine
  15. a new one from last thursday. this is awesome footage from an incar camera trailing me. pretty pumped up 02 STi aswell. 2.2litre stroker kit. had plenty of stink... http://members.optushome.com.au/lie88f/kev..._and_franks.wmv
  16. i notice the oil filter very hot whilst driving which is reassuring knowing that the engine oil is getting filtered... do you ever see your oil cooler core hot? the 2 braided lines running between my engine block and relocation kit are hot. the 2 braided lines running between my relocation kit and core are dead cold (and so to my core). my understanding is, and this is coming from my experience with my kit, the dirty oil from the engine block is getting to the relocation kit and the filter, being filtered, and then returning back to the block. because the thermostat in the relocation kit is not working, the oil is bypassing the oil cooler core. hence the forward and return lines of the oil cooler core (and obviously the core itself) are dead cold...
  17. nismo32, i dont think its the healthiest thing to be running cold engine oil but i do know several people who do it. but i guess they'll never know the true extent of the damage because they wont keep the car long enough to know i want to keep the thermostat.
  18. saw you coming didnt he
  19. how much dude? you mean this one?

  23. don't hold back brother 2.2 is dead. 2.5 is going in! as you do! dunno what happened....
  24. yeah i'm very close to taking it to ben and just telling him to rip out the thermostat. i've also been told that by pulling it out simply giving it a "service" may get it to work again? i can see a replacement thermometer being a pain in the ass to acquire tho! : yeah my local mechanic and proconcept have had a good look at it. both have been too lazy to open up the relocation kit and give it a proper diagnosis. infact, the only place to suggest doing that has been c&v...the others have just kept telling me what i tell them ... bast&^#!
