  1. being done to death doesn't necessarily means its a bad thing though? it just means its a great bolt on mod? how do the apexi AX53B70 and 60 rate against the hks turbo's? ie. is the AX53B60 equivalent in size to say the 2530?
  2. yeah, that'd be him then. this one has the toda kit....
  3. hrmmm sorry man, unsure of the DC2 owners name.... new movie though! this is me getting molested by a 02 STi with a stroked 2.2 litre engine....damn its quick!!! http://members.optushome.com.au/lie88f/kev..._and_franks.wmv btw, the 2.2litre boxer engine died that day!
  4. thermostat, thats the word i was looking for yeah i want to keep the thermostat too. i want it to work as it was supposed to! ie. open up at a certain temperature. having said that, i know alot of oil cooler systems which work without thermostat's!? the thermostat is on the relocation kit for the oil filter i believe? its a trust grex kit....
  5. hi all, i've been strongly advised that my oil cooler problems is due to the thermometer mechanism not opening up and letting oil flow through to the core? this makes perfect sense as the relocation kit and filter is hot and the braided hoses to the core and the core itself is dead cold even after several track laps. im just wondering if anyone has encountered/heard of such a problem? was the fix to remove the thermometer/mechanism altogether? or is there another fix? also, what are the pros and cons of running no thermometer? i understand the fact oil needs to be at a certain temperature to effectively work?
  6. can't say i've had any experience nor do i know anyone with an apexi kit. i must say, good to see someone venturing down the "non hks bolt on turbo" route, what makes you stray away from the conventional hks 2530, 2535, 2540 or 2835 bolt on options?
  7. if you're going to be doing some trackdays i would recommend pulling out the engine and getting a gated sump baffle and oil gallery restrictors. the strong word around town is rb26's pop quite easily because of dry sump issues... $6k is quite alot of money for mods, having said that im sure you could spend it very quickly i'm considering the same thing as you if i were to sell my GTT. the aforementioned is exactly what id do. infact....this r32 gtr is exactly what i want... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=34652
  8. had this problem before. it went away after i checked my spark plug gaps. i have a similar setup to you aswell tony, less z32 (but thats in the garage )
  9. dc2 typeR with a 2litre toda kit in it. i believe he was doing 1:11.5's which is damn quick for an NA! i had boost set to 0.7bar on the track though.
  10. heres the vid with me and the integra going side by side and damo filming from the rear... http://members.optushome.com.au/frankylie/...and_integra.wmv
  11. can i vote for C&V's dyno in Zetland? its central, its 4wd its in an enclosed area and most importantly my last dyno was there so it'd be a good reference point
  12. wow, what a compliment! but im not into chicks who dig my ride only heres some movies from a mates incar video mount. sorry about the exposure but the camera was obviously setup abit incorrectly. i've ripped them to wmv9 so you should be able to set the video brightness and contrast down a little. http://members.optushome.com.au/rbwrxmy98/...and_peddler.wmv http://www.boostn247.com/wakefield/6th/dam...amo_and_ian.wmv more to come this w/e, including a circuit battle between yours truly and a bloody quick typeR integra (was doing 11's all day)....watch this space
  13. yeah rightio. fat bastard the car is, even with my weight in the driver seat its rollin that much! hahaha what a bus! surprisingly it only really got busy when the track was open to all categories in the afternoon? aside from that, i thought it was perfect? only 7 to 8 cars on for each session...
  14. looks VELLY fun!!!!!!
  15. nice work dunc, thanks for the pics! and your effort in uploading them damn, do i have that much body roll!?!?!?!?!?!
  16. hey giles! good to meet you down there, i didnt know you were on sau? i thought you were a work mate of damo's? anyways, yeah top day, as per usual!!! next trackday for the rexnet guys will be the 27th of august...carlo has a trackday on the 17th and there is something going on on the 16th too...i think a UAS day. thanks to 2 people from sau! andrew (for the photos especially) and duncan for their unrequited love and support i even managed to get some private driving tuition from the master himself and i experienced, in my own car, some of duncan's driving talent!!! :headspin: with smoothness comes quicker laptimes! benm, i think i dropped into the 12's, but thats hoping....
  17. excuse my laziness, but what's the difference between the trampio tpg's and the r1r's ? i've had my r1r's for 16,000km's and they are only just starting to get a little worn now. eg. i notice more wheel spin in 1st gear for instance. i have had 2 trackdays in them. they come highly recommended. i had them fitted and balanced at an average of $300 a corner. im running 255x35 and 235x45. id like to compare them to the azenis, however i think the azenis might be more of an rspec tyre than the r1r's....hence more grip, less wear....
  18. i'll suggest another one then RIO'S on parrammatta rd stanmore! from what i've seen from the outside they have these brazilian dancers with traditional brazilian clothes -> read skimpy! it looks like an awesome night out :D
  19. andrew, you sound as though the people who are reading this all live north? from the way im reading it, maybe if you "toned it down" a little people from the west would be more encouraged to attend? instead, it sounds as though its a "northerners" only club ......... ? or maybe im reading it the wrong way? kel, don't you live just as far to parramatta as to north sydney? why are you mocking the distance to the west from where you are? in any case, i enjoy monthly dinners. great people and great environment...well the last 2 were anyway because they were close to home i dont mind north sydney, i dont mind west sydney. i think we should do a "world tour of foods"....we should travel through all of asia (going from my last 2 experiences), then europe, etc etc.... just to have a theme since were still in asia, i suggest the next stop be nepal. "yak & yeti" is an authentic napelese restuarant in glebe on glebe point road. cosy atmosphere and gorgeous food. rated very highly on the good food guide and is personally owned by my napelese friends parents. in any case, i'll go with the crowd
