  1. agreed that dyno figures can be somewhat misleading but i believe you can get a rough estimate from a dyno graph, and thus, they are a tuning tool - i wouldnt class them as being an accurate reader of power. comments about track times are abit more valid however i wanted to say that an ET is sometimes pointless aswell. the best indicator of power is the terminal speed. fwiw, i have recorded a 199.5rwkw on c&v's dynodynamics dyno. ran a 13.8s ET with a 2.1sec 60ft and 99mph terminal speed. goes to show that the car was tuned for mid-range... mods are as follows: -powerfc -avcr @ 0.8bar -fmic -full exhaust -stock airbox with hiflow air filter
  2. i found an R33 intercooler core in my R34 - that was abit rude i thought! i also got a free sun shade.
  3. sweet. i'll keep an eye out i've already spoken to a compliancer about it though =)
  4. how about evo6's and 7's?
  5. PLEASE COUNT ME IN!!!
  6. Spotted - Jimbo on his mountain bike cnr Henley Marine Drive and Parrammatta Rd, Five Dock. nice helmet mate.
  7. WSID > EC leave EC for trackdays imho.
  8. oooh so much hostility ... why go punch someone in the face for rear ending you? it was an accident, deal with it! :headspin: Call Kelvin at Panel One in Alexandria 9669 6799. tell him that franky referred you. if you're not a fussy customer and have some patience you will enjoy the results. they do take their time but the quality speaks for itself. they did gavin lo's black soarer show car for instance...they are an authorised bmw & alfa romeo smash repairer but they've done many wrx's including mine, and they have done many skylines, ferrari's etc. go see their workshop you'll definately see atleast 2 x E46 M3's there as they are the craziest drivers of all.
  9. very good point.... who are the State admins?
  10. might also be an idea, for the time being, to invest in a good detail? polish can do amazing things
  11. i guess it all comes down to what you want out of the car? if you want it to be a full project car where you are planning mods and looks, then do the paint absolutely LAST, as it will most likely be spending many hours in workshops.
  12. boostd; http://www.hitman.hm/ i learnt quite alot about tuning whilst with mat. that was another plus with going to him. just feels like its personal....btw my mate with his CRD tune is also very happy.
  13. A friend was recently charged $750 for a CRD powerfc tune, however, i cannot provide you the full details on what was done, to the best of my knowledge it was just a tune. On the weekend I was provided with a PowerFC tune by the Hitman. It was a road tune using a wide band a/f sensor and my hand controller. I'm very pleased with Mat's tune. I have noticeable performance increases throughout the rev range and within every gear. Some comments were made on my previous tune and im sure they were dealt with and rectified where necessary. I still have some detonation which i will hopefully have sorted shortly. Mat had a laptop with PowerFC software but unfortunately we couldn't get it to talk to the R34 PowerFC. Mat also personally owns an R33 GTSt. Mat usually charges $300 for a road tune.
  14. i think money spent on mods are alot more fun.
  15. dude, this was never meant to be a snsw vs sau related thread. too many threads? ok, well how about more car related sections then? atleast then i can narrow my search on boost controller issues or ecu tuning issues to a section rather than a state? imagine two states talking about the very same boost controller issue? total waste of bandwidth and knowledge thrown away if someone doesnt happen to see it in a section they seldomly browse. abo dude, yeah there is another one in my area.
  16. no no, you miss my point - this has nothing to do with SNSW and SAU.... it has to do with the sections on this forum most commonly read and they are, General Discussion, The Wasteland, NSW, VIC, QLD and Forsale sections.... If you've ever browsed in the other states sections ie. VIC, QLD, WA etc etc the majority of the things they discuss aren't really particular to that state. it could go into general discussion for instance...? i guess it's comfortable to know you are posting to an audience who you feel closer to, but i think there would be healthier topics discussed if it was infront of a larger audience where the depth of knowledge and idea generation could be potentially much richer. for instance a person who regularly browses NSW and seldom visits the VIC section may add value into a topic that was brought up in VIC. and conversely someone in NSW who also seldom browses VIC may have been interested in that topic of discussion but missed it because they seldom visit? i look at PerformanceForums discussions and i just think the calibre of them are sooo much richer because the audience is soo much larger. General Discussion, for instance, boasts something like 350,000 posts and over 15,000 threads - imagine the types of discussions they would be having and the potential great knowledge shared?
  17. i think the segregation of australian states within this forum is hurting the synergy of australia wide skyline owners. imho, we can't afford that with such limited knowledge of skylines. if you look at the victorian section they have almost 3 times the amount of hits to nsw and double the amount of threads. that is all.
  18. have you tried Heasmans on Princess Hwy, Sydenham in Sydney? here are some jap brands from my hyperrev magazine - dunno where/how you could get them into australia. perhaps the online shops nengun, perfectrun, takakaira or greenline could help? -hasemi -tokico -jam -el-sport -impul
  19. music teacher, plays the sex...i mean the sax.
  20. you want the smaller sard fuel regulator with an 8mm nipple. that'd be fine for your application. sard have a larger regulator, but not needed for your level of mods. no model number sorry, can't read katakana or kanji, but my hyperrev says 14000yen. i bought mine whilst in japan for 9100yen and i believe greenline can supply for about 13000yen.
  21. yup. indeed big vis top bloke. hope he doesnt mind these photos
  22. i'll let you know this weekend, i couldnt get around to the workshop today, so im goin on the w/e..... its not thaaaat big
