  1. just to clarify guys, my oil temps are perfect for everyday driving and also for a quick squirt. they only reach 130 when im on the track and after i've done 3 hot laps. BHDave: i am unsure where the factory sensor is, i'll find that out tomorrow i had the impression it was sitting on the block where the oil filter plate is...but im really unsure

  3. now THIS is a purple R32 GTR!!! http://www.pbase.com/franks/04may02_nicks_r32_gtr pity it got nicked ....
  4. from what i know of the P series, nightmode has pre-defined exposure and aperture settings (please correct me if im wrong). i think you can brighten it up with some exposure compensation but you wont be able to adjust exposure.
  5. i dont think the sony camera model you have has manual adjustments. is it a P series? but you should have that night mode setting right?
  6. what digi cam have you got? 33 ones were taken at around 5mpx. digi slr though.
  7. i have to admit that i cannot quantify what i claim with any hard evidence - it is purely observation and i say it with the utmost unbiased opinion. i definately see no performance difference between the 3 fuels but i can firmly say that on higher loads when fueled with BP Ultimate my knock sensor reading will remain *relatively lower* compared to the other brands. yes it's obvious the tune is poor towards the top end of the rev range, but my argument is the powerfc tune remains constant whilst my brand of fuel is changing (and i fill up each time with a full tank) and the trend is consistent. yes the weather and time of day is definately a variable in this equation but my argument to that is i've had too many tanks of fuels in varying weather conditions to justify this reasoning. id definately be interested in hearing what you have to say about the car over the fuel? cheers,
  8. yup, BP ultimate is the ultimate hahah ...
  9. i've hit 150 on my powerfc. optimax is the worst fuel. ultimate is the best. i notice significant knock level differences when using the different fuels. synergy sits somewhere in between, probably closer to optimax. i've never audibly heard it detonate.
  10. hahah thanks tony the grex kit consists of an oil filter relocation kit and core. the core is sitting in the standard kit position and that is just left of middle behind the grill, in between my front mount core and my a/c condensor. i didnt install it, it was installed by c&v, removed from one car and then straight onto mine. from the block there is a plate replacing the oil filter. two braided lines run to the oil filter relocation kit. from this plate, where the oil filter sits, 2 lines run to the core. the core is dead cold, the braided lines from the block are warm. i suspect the problem is lying with the plate where the relocation kit sits. but i'll have to check those lines from the block again! in any case, its going to the workshop thursday morning. i just hope its something simple...
  11. kenny: no its not Impul dude. my car has - bomex side skirts, phoenix rear pods, top secret copy front bar, original rear wing with nismo base stands... the practicality of a civic is a given, but that wasn't my point. i thought you had opted for a sports car so i was just outlining some of the differences between the two...
  12. yeah out of 2 dozen or so shots there's usually a couple of good ones, it just so happens merli's car's were those couple! hahaha
  13. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr yeah it is very high...
  14. i have driven both and own an r34 gtt. though i was never really torn between an s15 and an er34. i think they are two totally different cars. i was torn more between an r32 gtr and r34 gtt because a year and abit ago they were both similar money.... an s15, as much as it pains me to say it, is the real sports car. its light and its fast. the skyline is more of a gt sports car. ie. its heavier, its bigger but it can perform. i wouldnt say the s15 is less powerful at all. i know alot of sr20's producing BIG hp. they respond very well to mods and they are reliable. looks is personal. my reasoning for the er34 was its larger interior, its originality and its practicality. i can fit my mountain bike in the back seat for instance an er34 will perform well, but i don't think it'd be quicker around a track with similar levels of modifications on an s15 because its just too heavy. but, with the extra bulk, i think it has a slightly better build to it. in any case, i think if your after a true sports car with lesser practicality then get the s15. they respond great to mods, look good and go hard. if you want abit more practicality and can sacrifice abit of performance, then go for the GTT. it to responds well to mods but i think you'll hit a limit with your injectors. the biggest bolt on injectors i've seen for the GTT are nismo 480's. hence you could potentially be limited to the power you can make from the 2.6 NEO... hth.
  15. yeah rightio! thanks for that bit of info!
  16. you like this one aswell??? this is one of my all time faves...
  17. i'm sure erik means well - i hope he's learned quite alot about cars because from the sounds of things we've had the same discussions over icq and msn! hahaha not the best comparison photos, but you get some idea... before: after: I can't quantify exactly how many seconds the suspension mods have given me, but from my first time down to my 3rd time down i've taken off about 4 to 5 seconds. This has been with the aid of both suspension, power and an excellent choice of tyres i've increased perhaps 10-15kw at the wheels? since my first time down - but i'm limited to my damn stock turbo!!! Are you after a drag setup or a circuit setup? i can give you some advice on circuit setup for the GTT if you're interested...i've had 2 goes at and im nearly there!!!
  18. nah man, you got me all wrong - good on R34GTT-R he's got the hardware and he will go well!!! it doesn't take much to know he's got a quick car from the mods he has! i'm not challenging anyone, my motorsport is all about fun and learning from one another plus, my car is not aiming to be a drag monster i like a balance of street and circuit. ben's HPI-34T is the car to catch...
  19. lol i like your signature
  20. rightio, so its not really "stock boost" is it
  21. i am suspecting the same thing. i believe it does have a thermostat on the sandwich plate between the block and the oil filter relocation kit. its a trust-grex oil cooler kit. but i'll have to check it out as i bought it second hand.
  22. no thats incorrect, i will be pushing for 37k  you haven't noticed any boost increase with your fmic and zorst?
  23. english translation of this please????
  24. just wondering, those with an oil cooler.... after running around in your car for whatever period of time, whats the temp of your oil cooler core like? is it so hot you can't touch it? is it cool enough to touch for a little bit? or is it cool? i had mine installed a while ago, and i dont think its working. its practically cold after a good 15-20 min drive, and on the track i get temps of around 120-130 degrees...as indicated by my factory gauges. cheers,
  25. lol. wot sort of suspension you got? i've used it for quite sometime with no hassles. maybe my suspension is a little more forgiving.
