Do you think R34's would sell in Australia?
franks replied to gekisouzoku's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
speaking of mitsubishi, you can put me down for an Evo7! why are you only limiting yourself to gtt's and bnr34's and rx7's? why can't you do all cars on demand? -
i said pretty much the same thing to him tonite actually hahaha.... he's going to go through a shitload of cars so why not try them all! the audi's got 60k on the clock now after 2 years, time to go his reasoning is he wants convertible and the saab is affordable and the new 9-3 looks really nice and its quite practical with the large back seat. he'll lease cars for 2 years or 60,000km, whatever comes first, and then change. he doesnt need much convincing on an Evolution 6 or 7 but i dont think he'll settle on japanese hahah
-
how is the saab in general duncan??? just a little off topic here any gripes? comments? my brother is looking at the new 9-3 Convertible Aero, fabulous looking peace of machinery, by my standards...it really is a leap from the older models (no offence) and it really caught my eye at last years sydney motorshow...

Where is the car scene headed
franks replied to BOOSTMEISTER's topic in General Automotive Discussion
i think turbo's are dead. the world struggle for a more healthier planet overrules. Japan is going NA performance. you dont see many NA drift cars do you? as such i think it will go circuit or pimp vip style. i hope it goes circuit because there are too many try hard drifters (who think they drift but all they are doing is trail braking) in australia atleast. -
here are the girly shots from autosalon ... my 4 page testemonial  http://www.gavincato.com/frankster/tas04_racequeens

roppongi sucked ass - too many nigerians and americans just looking for skank. not the japan i wanted to see. we had a bnr32 out the front of our hotel daily. on our first night we saw maybe 1 oe 2 bnr34's cruise by us and our first day in ahkihabara we had a bnr34 vspec2 park around the corner from where we were shopping. skylines are everywhere in tokyo. plus the countless 4 door gtt's. all pics here http://www.gavincato.com/frankster/album09 this was outside our hotel when we first arrived the bnr32 around the corner from our hotel - he visited most days the bnr34 at ahkihabara. you know you want it yang.

hehe, adrian... yeah that yellow gtt has been there for a while now. i always see it along victoria road. model 6 white spoke wheels? yellow? different skirts and wing though to mine i think but nearly there! i agree with most here, if the $ value didnt match the quality of the product im sure the business wouldn't survive? in any case, 99% of the time money doesn't lie

i have enquired about a hiflow at GCG, i was quoted $1950 for Stage 1. for that money, id be seriously considering a low km HKS 2530. a brand new 2530 will cost you around $2500 delivered from www.greenline.jp and it'll include all the necessary bits and pieces and probably a HKS sticker too

sure was dude...! we didnt make the SAU meeting time, we got there at about 11 or so? i JUST got through all the halls on 6pm...i lost 160mb of photos (all from the Option stand) when i was uploading my CF to my laptop i was most impressed with the Veilside stand - i loved the pair of Evo8's in white and red....spectacular! my race queen shots: http://www.gavincato.com/frankster/tas04_racequeens my japan shots (less cars from TAS): http://www.gavincato.com/frankster/album09

my review of TAS04... something to see once in your lifetime - probably not worthwhile doing it annually when i don't live in Japan =)

mines, you're lucky to be alive but more importantly you didnt take out anybody that may have been sitting in that bus stop or another car on the road. you admit that a) you're an inexperienced driver and B) you were being an idiot on a public road - i have no sympathy for you. you can go and endanger your own life but PLEASE do it off public roads so that you dont endanger others - try to learn from this mistake with your next car hey??? i think we all need to experience a trackday of some sort to push the car like mines was doing in a safe environment. you quickly learn the limits of not only the car but yourself. -

a common question... first gotta ask yourself what sort of power you ultimately want and how do you want it? ie. responsive or all top end? some comments below: imho, pointless. will cost you $1950 from GCG and thats only stage 1. a 2nd hand low km HKS 2530 bolt on will cost you similar if not less money. Greenline online will sell you a brand new HKS 2530 delivered to your door for $2500 of which includes a full kit of gaskets and lines. If you wait another 6 months, HKS is releasing the GTRS turbo for the RB25. Well thats what one guy from the HKS stand at Tokyo Autosalon told me this year. i didnt get a major "seat of the pants" improvement with my FMIC upgrade. I have a HKS TypeS bolt on kit. The stock i/c will flow quite alot, again it comes down to my original point - what power are you chasing? my FMIC cost me about $1500 2nd hand but it was in mint condition. Installation was free since i did it myself with a friend at a panel shop. http://www.pbase.com/franks/07dec02_fmic_install be prepared to be pay around $400 for installation. i could see the money for this being put to better use for the type of power figure i reckon you're chasing. yup. a must for turbo cars. the cat back section you could do yourself, the front and dump pipes i would get a exhaust or workshop to do. brand new you're looking at around $1800 for a full exhaust. your paying another couple hundred for installation im guessing. electronic boost controller?? or Trust unit? boost is free power!!! always a good modification!!! couple hundred installation, unsure on the $ figure of a new one of these. 2nd hand AVCR's are around the $800 mark from memory. i've installed the AVCR onto my WRX, got a workshop to install it on my Skyline but they still managed to screw it up by mixing the throttle position and rpm wires even with instructions!!!???!?!?!? lots of noise, not alot of performance. i would stick with stock airbox with a hiflow air filter panel replacement. easier on the ears and the defects. my hiflow panel cost me $80 no comment. waste of money if your stock bov isnt leaking or if you arent intending to run major boost. i would definately consider the following: -a bolt on HKS unit over a hiflow of your stock unit -a clutch (if you're chasing any power figure over 200rwkw) -a bleed valve as a boost controller over an EBC -fuel management such as fuel pump and injectors -a replacement ecu to better manage your fuel and ignition cheers,

southo, i'd be interested to see more specific car models that get stolen from those areas. i believe the majority of those stolen cars would be hyundai excels or early model commodores because of their ease-of-entry and the fact that stealing is rampant is because of a higher likeliness of delinquent joyriders in those western suburbs. but come to a car that needs abit more than a screwdriver and i reckon those delinquents wouldnt bother... i'm not going to deny that there is a higher chance of getting your car stolen in the western suburbs - but at the end of the day it is pot luck (badluck for most) for eg. my friends car was broken into at wollstencraft just the other week. It happens and it can happen anywhere. the figures you just posted arent going to stop me from parking my car anywhere though.

these guys might be able to help you out. http://forums.evolutionm.net/?

seems like more of a gtst bashing than anything. quite disturbing.

f*&^!!!! i'm soooo fed up with stereotypical comments made about the west from northerners!!! HERE, LET ME REMOVE THAT SILVER SPOON FROM YOUR ASS!!!! its comments like these that make me think how closed minded some of you northerners can be - so who are the real BOGAN's now! i grew up in a suburb close to campbelltown and im sure there are members on this forum that live in other places to the rocks that you live under! places that have other symbolisms to the ones you portray of violence and vandalism! so until you've lived or experienced somewhere other than your parents place, you can keep your damn self opinionated prejudiced comments to your bloody self! you have no idea what its like outside your front doorstep to be saying such crap about the west and im sure the people who live out that way don't appreciate your poorly judged sentiments! that said, if the cinema is Hoyts and it has Cinemaxx you should be fine. If its Greater Union then make sure it has Senstadium. as for location. i couldnt give a ****. somewhere thats close to wherever i am is fine for me. i usually goto Broadway and Burwood.
