  1. a bleed valve is essentially a wastegate. it bleeds off pressure before the wastegate and in doing so tricking the wastegate to remain shut and produce more boost. on the topic of wrx vs gtt....i currently own a gtt and my previous car was a wrx...i love them both, and they are about as quick as one another at the moment....
  2. just start worrying about your fuel when you hear a ping ping ping'ing sound coming from the engine dude otherwise, keep turning up the boost
  3. isnt it because 4th gear is a 1:1 ratio???
  4. so did you change your battery, or was it just jump started?
  5. watching is good seriously, spectating is perfect from wakefield as you can see the whole track from all vantage points...passengers are also allowed (they are technically your 'driving instructor') but they will have to pay the same amount as the driver. ie. $80 + license where applicable dude, just have to be becareful with your terminology as "racing" incurs a totally different day, totally different pricing, scrutineering, etc etc....this is a practice day, no scrutineering, just road registered cars (for street cars category), no timing equipment....that sorta thing.
  6. was too busy driving yesterday but here are the pics i got when my friend took the camera... http://www.gavincato.com/frankster/20031207_jervisbay
  7. but if we get the rent-a-car drifting, GIVE THE KEYS TO ME!!!!!!!!!
  8. hehehe, i like this saying
  9. i piked out this year, i woke up at 6:30am ready to do it but then the thought of spending $42 for entry and my ensuing japanese trip made me rethink. also because i ride into work most weekdays anyways (....does it seem like im making excuses???) anyways, prank, its not 50km its more like 42km isnt it :) its a fun ride, going over the bridge is cool, just before the bridge last year it got abit insane. we were at walking pace (sometimes stopping) due to the bicycle traffic! 2gu up, yes it does...
  10. i'll explain it even easier.... * understeer sux, oversteer rules! * understeer puts a frown on your face, oversteer puts a smile on your dial (and maybe some poo in your pants) to graphically demonstrate... this is understeer, steering wheel at full lock, car nose pointing in direction of travel before turning steering wheel: this is oversteer: ...and from the reverse angle:
  11. yeah, but IMHO, you're too far away from the centre of the city! TAS is only 1 day for us! we have 10 days in Japan.
  12. i HATE :uzi: understeer!!!
  13. great work!!! we are 5 stops away!!!

  16. "what are you talkin about too hot mate???" "yerrrrr, hot carlo, hot!" "what? who? who's hot? where?!?!"
  17. hehe, i am going to talk to the boys about renting a car in japan. i think that will be the way to go if we were to go and travel into the mountains etc.... it might be cheaper than catching 2 cabs everywhere aswell (where we can't catch trains) ... but were right next to tokyo central station, so it shouldn't be too difficult! TAS04 is on the weekend of 10,11 and 12th? of January.
  18. sweeeeeeeeeet!!! :headspin: :headspin: :headspin: is urs like this???
  19. rezz, thats correct! 6 guys! incl. me....what are the chances of moving 20 guys around the place! haha like to street meets, drift action etc etc!!! hahah.

  22. come on man GSM wont work in Japan! your Oz phone will be useless over there i believe? nick, i've sent yang this thread, he knows spots around the convention centre so between rezz & yang we should be able to meet, as for you guys well ... just look for tourists like us :) hrm, maybe we should all get SAU shirts and wear them on the day
  23. i'll be there dude this is going to be one helluva cruise! last for the year for me guys! so lets make it a good'en!!! dunno wether i should be shooting video or stills!!! :blast:
  24. Gents! myself and 5 others will be in japan from the 1st January through to the 11th, planning on going to TAS on the 10th. will there be an opportunity to meet up before TAS? dinner? catchup? ropongi? we are staying at the Sumisho hotel near Tokyo Central Station is that close to any of you guys? Can you hire mobile phones from Narita Airport? The problem for us is that we have 6 in our group. We have 1 contact over there who has an awesome chaser drift car and he said he was going to take us drifting and to the daikoku carpark and freeway runs, but we won't all be able to fit in his car!
