  1. ive put 20 on for the doggies to win with a work mate. i should be collecting on monday.
  2. haha, im doing a formal run tonite. from cherrybrook to epping.
  3. sonic, you drove the MY03 STi? i still like the version 6 sti. i think these were the most "animal" wrx model. they just went hard from factory! MY01/02 lost the plot, whilst the MY03 is a real contender.
  4. i have an issue with middle aged career women driving VW Passat's...
  5. no. the JUN Hyperlemon EVO V is the current record holder of Tsukaba. Mines BNR34 is not far off it. Even with a rolling start 4WD traction is going to be an advantage, dont you spin up through 1st and 2nd? you are also forgetting that shorter gearing also plays a part with rolling starts. you'd probably catch it up top...
  6. ...'cause you might be up for a shitload more when things get tired from a 10 year old and up to 15 year old GTR? sonic: would be interesting to give an MY03 STi a drive though. they sport, from MY01, brembo brakes and viscous front lsd. of course, they dont compare to the semi mechanical front lsd, ayc and acd of the evo but chassis rigidity of the wrx is, as i understand it, better than an evo?
  7. lol. not touching this one with a 50 foot pole ...
  8. im running Sumitomo HTRZII's on the rear in 255/40/17. can't remember how much i got them for, they've seen 1 track day. overall opinion is that they are quite a good value for money tyre. they are a little slippery in the wet, but i drive like a pansy in the wet anyways. i say give them a go.
  9. hrm Evo8 and MY03 STi.....tuff call. id have to swing by the way of the MY03 STi (it'd be a clearer decision if they came to australia with the 2.5litre version!) because they've come sooo far and they are a nice looking piece of machinery both inside and out. im an Evo man at heart though ... (i did own a MY98 wrx)...if i was to spend 40k on a car, i'd get the Evo 6.5 or 7 because they offer soo much value for money. you can import these 2 models for about 40k. the extra 20k for an Evo8 or MY03 STi wouldn't be worth it IMHO.
  10. must admit thats pretty cool....
  11. the gtr has the potential to extract many more horses than an evo, however there is more to a performance car than just going in straight lines. that said, the evo is no slouch either. fyi, the JUN built EVO5 is the record holder at Tsukaba circuit in Japan. ...and you think an Evo 4 is good! how about an Evo 6.5 or Evo 7 or Evo 8!!! your about 4 generations behind! Mitsubishi only delivered a limited number of Evo 6.5's, no 7's and they are thinking about the 8. Its a shame because Subaru has no real competitor in that market. That said, the interior and appointments of a Subaru are much nicer than the Evo's IMHO (but the Evo's did get better) however, the Evo is so far ahead of Subaru in terms of advancement in technology & their gearboxes are practically indestructible (however Subaru seem to be getting it right from MY01 and onwards). an evo 5 i stumbled upon in HK a friends evo 7 in HK the Wanderer (tuning house in the UK) built EVO7 all good things are in yellow
