  1. had a friend in a similar position, he got his quitened with a resonator, apparently its a straight through pipe with carbon in it!? supposedly quieten's things down dramatically with very little restriction!? worthwhile probably talking to someone who is in the exhaust field though. silencer won't hold water afaik. they must be *permanently* secured to the exhaust. silencer can be made up and tack welded in though? probably better off going with the resonator?!? unsure of the correct method of measurement for loudness...i know its 1m back or something though!?
  2. wow. he must have an idea. gotta be careful with cam gears though. avoide slippage otherwise you could be saying "bye bye" to your engine...
  3. carbon clean? where can you get one of these guys done!? yeah, boost is what its ALL about....and cam gears too..hrm! i think im doing okay for the mods i have then. 186rwkw powerfc apexi avcr @ 1bar full exhaust front mount stocky turbo... next mods will be fuel pump, clutch & turbo of some description!
  4. yeah man! i was extremely embaressed!!! LOL...when i got to the staging beams i had traction control off...quickest launches are with it off!
  5. for all those northern or inner western, eastern, southern, whatever ..... meeting point is 8:30am at Homebush parking bay 6c. expect a sharp departure at 8:50am for the caltex at crossroads...and please remember to come with your tanks full or know how to get to the caltex at the crossroads!
  6. had 2 runs that night. the wait is getting ridiculous (apart from my 2nd run where i went from the car park to the christmas tree in one hit! hahah!!!) 1st run: 13.8s ET 2.1s 60ft 99mph Terminal 2nd run: 14.4s ET 2.3s 60ft 99mph Terminal 2nd run was funny. i had to run against DABRONX i took him by about 3 car lengths at the 150m mark and then he flew straight past me i was quite intimidated by his 9.8sec run - i first of all forgot to turn traction control off on the burnout pad and then i spun all the way through 1st gear on the launch...
  7. to engineer an aftermarket air filter for instance, dont they have to take it to the epa and get it tested? epa doesnt give out certificates?
  8. r33's respond really well to mods. well done. what other mods are you running? turbo? i/c? exhaust? are your injectors running out?
  9. yep, afaik, if you change any part of the intake or exhaust you are potentially in breach of epa standards thus deeming your car unroadworthy by the RTA & defectable by the police. finish your mods, get an engineers certificate and live without fear of defect fines.
  10. ...and once you've owned and raced laggy street cars with big turbo's, its hard to go back too :uh-huh: my WRX had a TD05 turbo from an MY94 WRX which was large. Subaru went to a TD04 for a reason....lag is your enemy in a street car!!!
  11. fat32, can you superimpose dyno results from your old t3/t4 and your 2530 turbo? it'd be interesting to see how peaky your old turbo was compared to the 2530...? i suspect your 2530 is making alot more power down low so your "pin you to your seat" feeling will be less exaggerated? i guess its all down to personal preference but the area under the curve is more important than the outright peak power figure imho.
  12. on my stock ecu and stock boost i would average 14l/100km this equated to roughly 350-400km a tank with a mix of highway and city driving.... with the powerfc tuned and running 1bar boost i think i will equal or even better this average and that's with all the hard driving i've been doing. i'm waiting on the fleet report for next month prove this though. a good tune makes a big difference to both performance and fuel consumption. currently i'm running a tad over 12:1 a/f ratio on full throttle, whereas with the stock ecu and stock boost i was at 10.5:1 a/f ratio - just way too much fuel imho...
  13. i'll let you guys know how this pans out, i hope my mate gets what he wants and i also a lesson is taught to those who perpetrated it all ... as mentioned earlier, it does look suspisciously like a case of "stolen car" but im sure the service department will cover this by saying its a mandatory policy, and its probably in the fine print somewhere, and they will no doubt be insured for it. but we'll see how it goes...
  14. i can't see my mate getting anything more than the insurance amount it was insured for. being a nissan dealership makes it no difference to it being a little workshop around the corner. its life. life sux sometimes. he will probably get a pay out from his insurance company, thats what its for. if i was owner of the dealership, i'd say "sue me". why would i give up a brand new car for something i know my insurance is going to cover.
  15. i'll ask him if its forsale
  16. i agree to an extent andrew. looking beyond what the boys in blue do to protect us from unroadworthy cars though, they are the ones that we call on when our lives are in danger. but it pisses me off no end when they are overly suspiscious or worst still, abuse that power. last night for instance, i was driving my g/f home at around 2am and i passed a paddy wagon travelling the other way. they proceeded to do a U turn at the next intersection and tail gate me for the next few kilometres. i had enough so i slowed down, pulled into the left lane and they proceeded to go past me, slowly, they peered into the car and turned left infront of me at the next available opportunity. now in one way im grateful to them, they would've probably done a number plate check to see if the car was stolen, but what if they pulled me over for a random breathe check for the sake of being overly suspiscious? i have no time for this shit, i wanted to get home as soon as i could because i was tired. if i was in any other car besides from a sports car they would'nt have had second thoughts. so my point is, i think the general consensus within performance car enthusiasts is they are bastards when they appear to abuse that power. id like to think that everyone had respect for them for the job they try to do.
  17. not yet! gotta find a mobile phone repairer. i remember one being in the city...i might take the h/c out today
  18. this looks great christian, well done!
  19. i dont believe the apprentice was ever instructed to take the car for a test drive, he just did.....
  20. a friend of mine had his s15 in for an oil change at a nissan dealership only to get more than what he expected... http://www.boostn247.com/spa200/
  21. two totally different cars... i'd get bored of the M3. its too heavy and it costs big dollars to make it move.
  22. i want them! surely someone can host down there in victoria!!! MIC33R, capture card ... unsure! but i know theres some pretty expensive ones out there!
  23. hehe, this was my mates comical attempt at a map you get the drift and you even picked up on the potato haha
  24. would someone be so nice as to create a divx out of it and then i can keep it at my place as an offsite backup.
  25. they check the engine number, vin number and i believe they are supposed to check the dimensions of the car and weight... yeah those mods will pass no problems. a blue slip will cost about $100.00
