  1. i can't wait for the twin setup to come out.
  2. just recently installed the whiteline handling pack (adjustable sways, caster and camber kits) plus a rear cross member brace. i have aftermarket springs and oldish shocks... for the street, NVH has noticeably increased, body roll has decreased & turn in has improved. predictability has also increased. on the track its a different story. i have massive understeer. turn in is not the greatest and moreso understeer to oversteer is unpredictable. all of the above is probably due to the fact camber is set to nuetral on the front and the front sway might be on too stiff a setting. tyre pressures were a little high when understeer was at its worst (42psi) so i dropped them to 38psi (hot) and it made a noticeable difference but still understeering badly. hopefully with some negative camber and softer swaybar setting on the front turn in will be improved and under to over steer more predictable.
  3. i believe "in-gear" lag will be accentuated with an addition of a externally venting BOV. the reason being that the pressure in the pipes will need to be filled again. and yes, a turbo car is generally quite reliable these days pending the amount of TLC its had...
  4. front bar and grille? seats?
  5. yeah, heaps of jag's. i never noticed a white jag down there sorry, but i did have a look at some of the video we got and noticed a white XJS? is this the one? anyways, here's some pics http://www.gavincato.com/frankster/wp_27jun03
  6. yeah it goes over 100degrees and thats bad enough for me
  7. thats cool grim! anyways, i can only say i've used a turbosmart $80 bleed valve in my previous car and had no problems. held boost well never really spiked at all...
  8. i find the avcr not difficult to use at all and its so tunable you can change the characteristics of how boost comes on extremely well. i am yet to install the avcr in my skyline however it was installed in my previous car (a wrx) for over 2 years. i can honestly say the avcr transformed the wrx. the avcr, imho, is the only ebc on the market worth getting.
  9. either way, im scared of EC its a track i really want to go on, but its also a high speed circuit and its about double the size of Wakefield. this means prolonged extreme conditions on the car! i'll wait till i get atleast an oil cooler before tackling EC...
  10. ok. what if you have an engineers certificate and you get defected for, lets just say, an exposed air filter. If your unlucky you cop a $200 fine and an inspection meeting with the EPA. You turn up to the EPA and they clear you. Do you have to still pay the fine?
  11. that just makes my blood boil - what utter crap!!!!! >_< if i had an EC and the cop said that to me - i'd give him a piece of my mind. IF they can find something NOT listed on the certificate then thats fine - defect away. Police should not have the authority to defect a car, this should be the job of the RTA. if we follow the modification guidelines set out by the RTA what rights do police have - NONE!!!
  12. guess you'll have to change "Getting R34 GTR Soon !" on your profile then ay?
  13. the RTA deem an engineers certificate as a document which states the listed modifications comply with the RTA and with ADR standards and therefore that vehicle should not be defectable. you can read for yourself: http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/dow...loads/vsi15.pdf
  14. there are ways to get around CGT if you set it up correctly from the start. just talk to the right people. ie. property lawyer.
  15. a few friends of ours were going down to the open day at wakefield this friday. its an open day organised by wakefield park for the british racing car club for preparation for the weekends racing but were allowed to tag along. if your interested please let me know, i wouldnt mind seeing some more skylines down there. usual deal for an open day. $80.00 plus license. no scutineering (but must be road registered), no ambulance.
  16. i have an alarm and turbo timer working with each other. my installer said it can be done, you just have to delay the activation timer on the alarm or something?
  17. it all seems to simple to remove the mods and get them shipped over seperately ... its going to cost $'s to: a) remove the mods B) source stock bits c) install stock bits d) send over original mods seperately e) re-install mods when landed i wonder by the end of it how much you've really saved...?
  18. thanks matey...still much to learn!
  19. i'd say it'd be abit of both .....
  20. you want some lights and night shots of skylines??? got heaps!
  21. a snapshot from markpakula.com nick and carlo? any times peepz?
  22. errr i dont think a movie like this is worth critiquing, it was good for the perve on the chicks and cars ... and thats about it as for seeing more of the 34, i agree, but thats what sponsorship does ay!? money talks!!! i would've like to have seen more evo action if it wasnt so farken riced up! shocking. the r34 riced up looks good, the evo riced up looks just like a lancer with fibreglass!
  23. not always the case, i was going to sell my GTT at a profit yes agreed if you liquidate your assets then you'll have enough money to buy an R, but this is not the way to wealth creation now is it? i say buy a BNR32 in January 04 for a cheap a55 price, crate a NISMO 500HP engine in and spend nothing else. If you buy a BNR34 your going to be up for a crap load of insurance, if it breaks you'll have a real scarcity of parts in Oz and they will be extremely expensive. Buying an expensive car is one thing, AFFORDING it is another...
  24. it really depends on you mate. you seem to want practicality so go for the STi. id only get a 350z if it was white, has bronze TE37's and a veilside body kit. i think they look rather boring stock.. nice, but boring... heres a personal photo shoot i took of my friends Z... http://www.gavincato.com/frankster/kk_350z
