  4. well said mac33r - in other words spend your money wisely and sacrifice some lifestyle - hard work, but nothing comes cheap. some other tips for you: -first and foremost, be diligent with your money, ie. put some money away every month or week, depending on how frequently you get paid, and once it grows - invest smartly. making money is not an overnight process. -never own your car. the money you put up for it could be better off in smart investments that can gain you capital growth or cashflow. -get a good accountant who can really maximise your tax refunds/benefits -if the bank is willing to lend you money, take it! these days money is cheap, aussie cash rate is at 4.75% and expected to fall over the next 5 months thats about it.
  5. I was out on a photo shoot last night for fast fours & rotaries in the pyrmont area, when a paddy wagon pulled up and asked the usual questions, who's cars were these (there was only 3), what are you doing blah blah blah ... then asks for our licenses. they recorded our details including phone number because there was complaints of people stealing number plates in the area... which is all fair enough... both these cops were actually pretty cool (so this is not a bitch!) one of them, and i dare say was a friend of "2rismo" on this list as i later found out, wondered over to my car and pointed out how easily it could've been to defect me. he continued to tell me that he hassled people depending on the attitude of the person and of course the reason why they pulled them over in the first place... bottom line, if your going to do something stupid be prepared to face the consequences and most importantly if you dont show respect, dont expect to get any in return
  6. sounds like fun! i've never been to bathurst and i have 2 portable bbq's i can bring too....just add coal
  7. MADNESS!!! my suggestion was heard!! woohooooooo!!!

  9. i think its state revenue raising.
  10. nothing to complain about!?!?!? have you seen NSW penalties!?!?!?
  11. even professionals f**k up. my friend had his clutch replaced by a certain well known performance shop in sydney, they negelcted to change some seals and the clutch was stuffed again a week later... sumo my point is, anyone can turn a spanner, undo a few bolts and figure out how to put something back in and tighten it all back up. infact anyone with half a brain and the service manual could do it....it is however in certain cases, just like the above, that we should be aware of our own *limited* capabilities... just one more point, im a software developer but i can build a PC from scratch, but when i first switch the thing on after rebuilding, i always have my heart in my throat in fear that it doesn't work ...
  12. can i pls be #26!!?
  13. oh yeah, i forgot all my maintenance and running costs are free.....yeahhh righhhhhhhhhhttt. lease does not equal free, its just budgeted for each month.
  14. bah! botany is like port kembla mayte...
  15. go the team west side shirt nice pics tony!
  16. anyone hear of the saying "a little information is often dangerous"...well i think this rings true to *most* DYI'ers... sure i can change oil, but thats about it. i havent got the tools nor expertise to do most other things. besides this, they could probably spot vulnerable points alot better than you could (and of course charge you excessively for it) which is another advantage of letting someone who knows what there doing do it. if you care for your car, let a professional do it.
  17. coz we were all up the hunter and tws were sleeping

  19. could we introduce an "events history" section and move all event threads that have happened to it?
  20. i had fun on the trip up the old road, though i think the section between berowra and peats ridge could've been better - we went up pretty far!? it wasn't the "usual" old pac run i do...?!?! anyways, as Cam mentioned, the drive back down the freeway was awesome - its a real pity we met up with the 550 Maranello at the end of the freeway!!! dark, go back to page 8 and you will see a link to my gallery of the cruise, and im keen to see other photos too... and the "flash" was gold
