bonkers that sounds like a really strong recommendation! i might have to give them ago! and better yet their so close to me! just rang lachlan, sounds like a good bloke and was pretty confident with their tuning and powerfc tuning in particular. only problem is they dont open on weekends!!! "too busy racing" !!! RESPECT!!!

no i dont think c&v can tune your ecu. i dont think anyone in sydney can. and you just can't tune the intercooler, everything has to be retuned.

osh tosh bigosh: yeah, the hitman is a rotor man but his daily driver is an r33 gtst with a powerfc (i think ). yang was also telling me the reason why the hitman was there at the same time was because this tuning shop uses the hitman to tune customers cars - in particular powerfc's??? OSH13T: afaik, those mines ecu's are pre tuned for particular mods. wether they are tunable by people other than mines - i dont know, but id highly doubt it! which leaves you in a pickle!!! by adding an intercooler, yes you'd like to think a retune is required to really take advantage of it. C&V charged me around $300 for a powerfc tune. Majanal: let us know what Ric says and does he know Powerfc's!?

http://www.bearings.nsw.gov.au/splashLoad.html this is a very cool site. its a satellite picture of sydney, but it allows you to zoom right into your house. the boundaries of the picture reach as far as pennant hills/cherrybrook to the north and i can't remember south (who goes down there anyways!!!) 1. open the link 2. click on the large "Splash" icon on the top left 3. Zoom to Level 6 (on the top menu bar) and make sure you have "Roads and Streets" (you should now be able to see street names) & "View from the air" (you should be able to see buildings etc) checked off on the bottom right 4. Use the top right map to naviagte you around 5. Click the "pan to new centre" on the menu bar and click on the view to centre the view You should be able to now find your house and zoom right into it from the air! You can then view all sorts of other stuff when you play around with the check boxes on the right...

tsk! tsk! Yang (400HP) met the hitman in person for the first time out at a tuning shop in Ryde (i believe) last week and got some goss, i've personally never met him.... from his url i know he was in Brunei (i think) till feb 03 and has just recently come back to Oz. Yang tells me he is now going to Detroit to do a tuning tour but i dont know when - this is probably why his waiting list is so long! who did your tune before C&V???
-
from your signature, it looks as though you have a Mines ECU?! - i seriously doubt anyone in Sydney could tune it. I have a powerfc tuned by C&V and i thought Con did a pretty good base tune and he charges very competitively. My check engine light (i assume this is detonation as the powerfc has many other warnings which can set off this light) flashes when im at higher loads in higher gears. sometimes it goes off in lower loads if i use a fuel other than BP Ultimate. I'm now considering getting the car tuned by "the Hitman" next after i dial in some boost. He's got a fairly good reputation and also charges competitively. But from all reports, none of my own, Jim @ CAS is the person to tune your car. I believe Jim had a hand in tuning Mario's GTR700 and has also tuned Merli's monster (to name a couple)- but he charges extraordinarily high prices. i guess i should bite the bullet and do it once properly but im not like that! id rather give the other guys, like the Hitman, a go and from my experiences with CAS they are very unapproachable. I'd like to hear some reports of people who have tuned their Powerfc's from either Unigroup, Hills or SAS if any...

w3rd up Gradenko! i've made Ferrari 355's look bad with my WRX. My mate in his STi made a Lamborghini look bad after being provoked to say the following ... "hey mate, how about you show your bimbo girlfriend how slow my tinbox is". the full story is here http://board.performanceforums.com/forums/...readid=67143998 moral? there is none...or maybe its not to mess with an AWD when its slippery -
geesuz, you seriously think starbucks is the only place that makes nice coffee!?

so what your saying is there are heaps of every model skyline in vancouver!?

180sx with an SR20!

i reckon modded is always better unless your s2 is about to fall apart ... what are the main differences between S1 and S2?
-
stock for stock i think it'd be safe to assume the wrx would beat a gtst with a good launch. power to weight ratio and gear ratio's will do that. as mentioned here, many wrx drivers fear big rev launches (to get the most out of awd) for fear of breaking their gearbox. I have required a gearbox rebuild once. i think at the end of the day what could beat what comes down to how many dollars you put into the car, who has the most mods, who is the better driver or if the wrx driver is prepared to do a decent launch... just another unbiased fact, my wrx was never beaten by any skyline, modded or stock.

does the other guy know about your small "issues"? maybe he'll think otherwise to swapping if he did!

any girlfriend or boyfriend that just sits in the car and asks to go home early should've stayed at home in the first place. infact, they're just being outright losers... imho, if you're in a relationship then both sides should be able to accept whatever interests the other has and try to get involved as much as possible for the sake of their partner. my ex was excellent in this matter. i'd goto track days, she would attend as much as she could and try to get involved as much as she could - because I had an interest in it. she didnt come all the time, but she came as often as she could. i think this has to work both ways though. when she wanted to do her thing and have me accompany her in respect, i did... only one thing did bother her though and that was driving recklessly when she was in the car. ie. racing from the lights, etc etc. which is perfectly acceptable but just damn annoying especially when you know you could've eaten them! my 2c.

duncan, 1.11 is very good around wakefield! i am soo hanging to get the skyline out there. anyways, i'm with merli on most points here and that is the rating system is still a little stuffed. i dont think that going through the nasho or old pac qualifies you as a good driver, it certainly shows your an enthusiast though? i personally think lap times are a better indication of a drivers ability, but in general, a car can be better suited to particular tracks and would thus prove to be overall more quicker. i'd like to think that my driving abilities are good - i obey and respect the road rules and most importantly respect my fellow commuters
