zsky: can't say price just yet thanks for the comments, dont know about the programmability of the 775 to be honest. your better off consulting your manual!? as for forcing flash, there is a flash button on the back of the camera i presume (on mine there is) and you select the lightning bolt. in auto mode the camera will most likely not use it, when the lightning bolt is up then it forces a flash...useful for "fill flashing" i gather? -
about 12 weeks ago i posted up my new ride, it was in japan at that time and now she is in my garage... here are some pics of her. all pics taken with a nikon coolpix 880 with 8 second exposure, 200 ISO. front lip is currently off the car until it gets registered..personally i think it looks pretty crap from the front....

different shades of R34 yellow's?
franks replied to franks's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
the reason why the exterior colour looks pale is because of the camera. white balance is terrible and this is often the case for yellow. the car has not been resprayed, the camera just portrays the yellow extremely badly. the engine bay colour of any car will be different to the exterior. most manufacturers will apply just an undercoat to save money. take a look at these next two pics of a yellow EVO 7 i shot the other day. the white balance is terrible in the first shot which makes it look extremely pale. this can be attributed to the overexposure on the flash... removing the flash, the second shot is marginally better on the rear quarter portion of the car, and gives you better indication of the true stunning yellow of it..... -

Price indication on R34 please.....
franks replied to Crazy's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i disagree Pete, try going to a dealer and asking 40k for a GTT? you'll find they are selling them closer to 50-55k and powerplayimports.com have "SWOOP" forsale at 75k! high hopes but its immaculate. 2 things which i believe will hold the value of R34's in particular, the second one not so particular to an R34: 1. the R34 will most likely be the last skyline with the RB engine and its arguably the best ever made. 2. stricter grey import laws in australia will certainly make it alot harder for imports to make it to our shores. So a certain demand vs supply will automatically hold their value up (with all imports in general). thats my 2c anyways... Back to Crazy's question...its all about preference, i know lots of ppl who love the R33 shape and lots who love the R34's shape. In terms of exterior and interior they are worlds apart. In terms of engine performance, there is a fair amount of differences. * same engine but R34 has NEO equivalent * R34 makes 48Nm more torque, 1200rpm's lower than the R33 * R34 runs 0.7bar boost, a little higher than the R33 * R34 peak power has risen to 206kw @ 6400rpm these were possible through changes in engine management system, cam timing and turbo system. -

the "mitso's" will have the R33 for breakfast. they need a little stiffer competition like an R34! as for yellow, i quite agree -

Neil, a) price was not mentioned at all. "best car in the world" was the statement, this and "best car for the money" are 2 entirely different statements/arguments. B) I'll give you 4 cars in similar price ranges - 1) EVO VI 2) EVO VI TME 3) EVO VII 4) E36 M3 hell, i'll even throw in a 5th - MY02 WRX STi -
jim, you made it quite clear to me that you did care who'd have what car and which car is better when you pointed out "...didn't notice any of them pay any attention to the M3! ..." i'm merely illustrating that the bunch of guys who obviously envied you and your skyline over the M3 was a small and somewhat inaccurate sample set of the population who would otherwise look at an M3 over a Skyline... but, you probably have a very nice example skyline and obviously a very fast track car and im not denying any of that - and agree that the skyline does attract a certain crowd....

hrmm. "...These have to be the BEST cars in the world!! ... " extremely bold statement there...but im glad to see your really enjoying your car, obviously money well spent! -
hmmmmmmm.... i'd prefer an E46 M3 over any GTR... i'd prefer an R34 GTR over any E36 M3 and come to think of it.... nah, id get an E46 M3 over an R34 GTR - close but!

can't do nothing. try to live with it and not become cynical! best fight against vandalism, well, there aren't any really?....take precaution where you leave your car - thats about it...

waste of time!?!?
franks replied to franks's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
wot if a good idea or discussion is had within the state but is applicable to all states or could be made applicable to all states..? i mean, i'll never trawl through VIC for instance but i could miss out on something applicable to me accidentally...? if you have a look through the states how many discussions are actually state specific??? -
I'm not too sure what the purpose of seperating this discussion forum by australian states is ??? wouldn't it be more beneficial to collectively pool the discussion forum from all states!?!?!?

what a c#^$ of an act! that said, i know there are f*&^wits out there but they aren't going to stop me from owning the car i want and parking it where i want.

Tell work to make your Skyline the company car. Then use the skyline as a tax right-off and with the additional money you save with tax right-offs, save up for that deposit. or tell work you dont want the car but you would like a larger salary package!

Insurance while Car is being Complied ?
franks replied to B-Man's topic in General Automotive Discussion
same case here. i dont think any insurance company will insure a car whilst undertaking compliance, however they should provide a covernote if your on the way of registering. they actually said they wont provide insurance until it is registered, but they did not mention a covernote. check your compliance shop is covering your car, in most cases it should be... -
different shades of R34 yellow's?
franks replied to franks's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
wow unanimous vote for the pale yellow i guess!!! i actually preferred the brighter yellow!? i wanted to steer away from anything resembling the EVO 4 WRX yellow which i thought looked putrid! richy, avatar is my nephew doxx, i wish someone gave it to me too! ex-static, what are you waiting for champ! so i guess noone knows about the different colours??? might take it to SDU.. -
does anyone know if there was different shades of yellow released within each of the year model R34's? eg 1. 2 cars here, what looks like the same shade of yellow. pale. eg 2. what looks to be a brighter yellow or is the camera playing tricks with me?
