Yeh well I think that pricing system seems pretty fair to me Yeh well I dont think they have much expertise when it comes to rb's. The main guy who was working on my car said "Isn't there something you need to do with a water or oil gallery or something to put a VL block with a skyline head? Dont you have to like plug the block?" I was a little shocked by this but just let it slide as all I really needed their brains for was doing a tune which they have done many of before. BUT expertise when it comes to tuning or working on skylines is very minimal

Well that would be very lovely. Love the idea of yachts and hotties ALSO....back on topic....I do love the Vi-PEC. I would love to buy one actually and a wideband controller If there just so happens to be a plug and play Vi-PEC at the right price I would love it. You could shoot me a PM about the Vi-PEC price, other info and the wideband controller if you wish but yes it would be lovely to be able to tune the car myself. This is my first time to a tuner/mechanic and losing my mechanic virginity like this was not what I was expecting

Yeh that's is exactly what I was thinking. I will see how these guys go and see the quality of the tune hopefully soon enough. I have heard good things about them from a couple of other members so hopefully they live up to the talk. Will obviously keep you guys posted on cost and time taken. I was surprised that when I rang them to let them know I would be towing a car around that they were fine with it and even waited back an hour or more for me to get there. hahaha no wish I was though. That is just a nice googley image Update: Went to the mechanics. They said the car was ready to drive home. So I started to drive home real slow and to keep the revs under 3000. But to my amazement IT WOULDNT EVEN GET TO 3000! It would cough and splutter to 2.5 and then run like a bag of shit. Anyways end of story I just got a tow truck and took the car to a different mechanic. See if they can do a better job.

Yes Phil it is getting to me you bastard. Im about to go round to the mechanics to have a talk to them now. That quote was from Aitkenvale auto and dyno. I understand good tunes cost money but Phil has been there and so has a couple of friends of his and apparently they charge too much and charge you for stuff they don't do or they do and don't do it properly. Like I said Im going in to see them now. They haven't called me back since last Tuesday and I have rang them every day to get the phone answering lady say "He's currently busy at the moment but he will call you back". I dont mind paying the money if I know that is how much time and effort they are actually putting into the car. I hate paying for rubbish. Hey guys, I got a rough estimate for how much tuning is going to cost me. I was quoted that it would take about 7-8 hours @ 140/hr to tune my car. I have a Microtech LT12S with Sard 850cc injectors. The ecu already has a base map. Do you think this is a bit much? What ECU do you have, where did you get it tuned and how much did it cost for the tune? Cheers Also just in case this comes up I am in Townsville. So anyone reading this from north QLD PLEASE help out. Yeh I thought it needed to be done on the dyno. I spoke to one of the mechanics and all he said was "we need to know the specs of the cams before we change the cam gear". This confused me a little. Hopefully they wont try and charge me an arm and a leg for the dam tune. They said it will take up to 7 hours @ 140 an hour. Does this sound about right?

Have you tried using a thinner nut? like 3/4 thickness. How badly is it fouling
