  1. Is the car making any different noises at all? Does it still reached the same boost level it used to or will it not go that high? How much different is the lag. Like 500rpm laggier or 1500? I would say leaky cooler piping or exhaust manifold leak.
  2. Was that your idea to use a jimmy up exhaust housing or did the bloke who did the work on the car suggest it cost it looks so wicked?
  3. + 1 There is no way in hell I would buy a skyline if the had been hit up with the grinder and there was a dirty little hi flow hiding under the seat. Seriously just buy the skyline and if you make it quick enough you will outrun them anyways Disclaimer: Lukas does not condone any illegal activities nor does he participate in these activities personally. Comments above which may seem inappropriate should be viewed as humor.
  4. Ask trent what he thinks about it then. Im sure he has a big wealth of knowledge
  5. You dont have that problem with a 3L Hey phil in thinking we should put two 3037s in my boot and see how a 150 shot goes getting it spinning PS........Fuel up There are a couple of twin turbo V8s running around town with the set ups under the car. But I have heard it is a cnut to work on and fabrication was a little tedious. Mr thread started please post up your current thoughts Cheers
  6. Have a look on the exhaust manifold to see if all the nuts are rusted into place haha If they are its probably a det Just on a side note. Remove that pink shit before you start. Im laughing just thinking about it getting sucked into the engine.
  7. Either way, turbo or not. The car is stil registered as a turbo car yes? Isn't that not a no no
  8. hahahahaha! touched a nerve aye phil. If it was me I would just hide it with heat shield etc Actually if it was me I would just drive it as a turbo car and not care I need threads like these while Im at work
  9. Yeh save till you are on your opens. Put your money into building a nice rb26/30 and then when you are on your opens just drop it in
  10. jesus christ. TWO T51r in the damn boot. Insane! I think there would be a little too much intercooler piping if you wanted to do that on a skyline Wouldn't it lose a lot of responsiveness?
  11. I patrol car forums too If you are the anal about it then shoot me a PM. I just would like to know the reason why the hell anyone would do it unless it was an MR2 or something like that. Oh son of rajab I just thought of something. How do you know Im not a cop in disguise trying to weed out your every little secrets. Do you have NOS installed? Coz thats illegal......lol if your reading this <Insert Name Here>.... But what exactly is the intended purpose or reason?
  12. I think he means fit the injectors, start up the car and f**king thrash it. BUT i dunno Love lunch time at work
  13. yeh and what car is it for? And why are you hiding the turbo? Are you a P plater looking to be sneaky sneaky with the turbo? honestly I don't care if you are I was just wondering. Hell if I couldnt have a turbo car legally I would probably be sneaky like that aswell. LUNCH TIME
  14. Hey mate, honestly I dont have a clue what your asking. The car will feel........different depeing on what turbo is on it. Are you asking whether or not a turbo can be responsive on an rb20 or 25? yes of course it can be as long as you dont put on a gt40 or something stupid. need a little more information. Also, why would you want to put the turbo UNDER the car like that? It will get covered in shit and dirt and just crap everywhere. It wont be anywhere near as responsive as having it in the engine bay. Are you a P plater trying to hide the turbo or something? Cheers Lukas
  15. Good oil pump as in better than standard. eg jun, tomei, nitto etc etc
  16. Yeh if you could PM me your results once its done seatinthepantsometer is a very technical device.
  17. OH FFS!!!!!!!!!! The mechanics havent done a single thing to my car and it has been in there for two weeks. Also they just told me they close from 24th dec to 19th jan. FARK
  18. Even without a good oil pump?
  19. OH right well that makes a little more sense then :S now im a douche
  20. Thats a little disappointing Use the 2530's both times?
  21. Yeh my internals are balanced but only has a stock balancer. You have to admit rob is an exception when it comes to rb30. Just because he can rev to 10000rpm and hit 1000hp doesn't mean I have a chance in hell haha
  22. Yeh I think Im not going to touch the 8000rpm limit. putting around the burbs haha just sounds so silly. Yeh well I dont want to risk oil pump failure. Maybe if the engine does a naughty broken thing I will just put in the better oil pump that time. Yeh like JonnoHR31 said I thought there was a fairly big difference between stress from 7000 to 8000. I just never thought it was common practise to take the twin cam 30 to 8k. I will definately update this thread depending on what tuner says etc etc and how my 35r 0.82 goes on the 25/30 Which reminds me it is once again time to phone the mechanics to see what they have to say with progress etc
  23. hahaha yes I know that feeling. What is the engine etc going to be used for? Swing through a little more info
  24. Ok well it seems like you are new to rb motors etc rb30 - VL commodore - Single Cam engine - Not too great unless you plan on doing some work to it or a twin cam conversion rb26 - from the twin turbo gtr (not the newest one) - It is a twin turbo engine ready to rock and roll for 4wd - Revs very nicely BUT it bloody expensive rb25 - from the 33 gtst usually. Its only a single turbo - Found in GTS-4 aswell - Makes ok power from stock but not as much as 26. Can't rev like a 26 or a 20 either rb20 - mainly just r32 gtst and in some gts4 - Makes lowish power but revs very nicely - Also a single turbo That is just a ridiculously basic run down of some of the motor. That is excluding which have VCT, which are fuel injected or carby if its a neo engine or normal if it has solid lifters of hydraulic etc etc If you on a budget get the stuff from a GTS4 with the rb25. That is definately your cheapest bet. Maybe just buy a smashed to pieces skyline or something. You will need an ecu to control it all. Also like I said dont put in the rb30 unless you want to twin cam it first. Anyways I would write more but I need to go to work. Wiki the different engines and have a search on here. There is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much info on this dam website. Its a gold mine honestly. Cheers Lukas
  25. Yeh well that makes me think a little differently now I guess. If there is minimal difference noticeable in twin scroll then meh. From what I was reading is it was wonderful Im still yet to see what my 3582 with 0.82 rear maxes out on. Cheers for the wise words
