Hey guys, A mate from another car forum has some old NGK BKR5EIX-11 Plugs for sale (They have done 5000k) they are gapped at 1.1mm, would that be fine for standard boost (well about 9-10psi with exhaust mods/intake) Would they be ok? or should I steer clear? (he's selling them for $40 for all 6)

Cheers^ I took it to the mechanic, and he chucked it up on the hoist. He said it was comming from the clutch reigon, and is nothing to worry about. He said its something lose or bent (fork?) in the clutch, and that it can be fixed with a new clutch change.

Ohh, whats is involved with repairing that? and cost?

Well.. after further exploration, it it only does it with the clutch pedal is engaged, and when i push the clutch pedal it stops... Some sort of bearing I assume?

Oh true? I had a look underneath, theres a bolt on the manifold which it's washer has broken in half... And it's a little black around that area... Could be an exhaust leak? Might just have to take it to a mechanic.

I've just taken all the pipes off, and had a feel around. No shaft play at all... hmm?

Hi guys, About 3-4 months ago I noticed a "metal on metal" noise comming from the turbo/manifold region. He only happens whilst on idle. She doesn't blow any smoke at all, and still boosts alright. Hi Guys, I'm about to do an oil change on my Series 2 R33 GTS25T, and I've come across a New Zealand supplier who sells Royal Purple oil, now I'm completely stuck on which Royal Purple oil to purchase, they range hugely in price $10-$25 The cheaper oil: (Royal Purple Motor Oil 10W30 1QT (946mls) (Royal Purple Motor Oil 10W40 1QT (946mls) (Royal Purple Motor Oil 20W50 1QT (946mls) Then you have the stuff which is about $20-$25 per quart: Royal Purple Racing Oil 21 5W30 1QT (946mls) Royal Purple Racing Oil 51 20W50 1QT (946mls) Royal Purple XPR 10W40 Racing Oil 1QT (946mls) Currently I'm running a Shell Helix 5w40 Oil, so I assume I should go for the 0w30? Or is that to thin? Am I alright to use the cheap royal purple, and is it still good stuff? And which weight should I use? My car is a little loud on idle, turbo is does make some rattley noises. Also I assume i'll need 5 quarts? Or should I buy 6? Cheers Guys

Sweet, I think its about $79 for 5L which isn't too bad. I might grab some tommorrow. Had a look in the engine bay for any leaks, and tried to "sniff for oil" couldn't find anything. Then I took the car out for a spin, It was only really noticeable once I had come to a stop (So i'm still thinking it's an exhaust leak as first suggested, guess I'll jack the car up tommorrow and check it out. My current oil level hasn't changed, and my car doesn't smoke at all, even on boost...

Yeah, I'm not sure about the gaskets - An exhaust guy fabbed it up and installed it. I guess I'll jack my car up tonight and unbolt it and have a look. Cheers mate, also I was looking at some Fuchs 5w40 oil, whats that like for a RB25DET?

Hi guys, First up I own a 98 R33 S2 GTS25T Skyline with the following mods: HKS Cat back exhaust De-cated Pod Filter GFB Hybrid BOV I've noticed a oily smell incabin... partically when i'm slowing down or have just been giving it a bit of stick. I changed the oil about 4,000km's ago with Shell Helix 5w40. This problem has only seemed to arise since I've de-cated the exhaust? Any ideas what it could be?
