My cousin and I hold differing views on this. He reckons its extremly hard because some guy that works at an importer place told him because they ahve rb26dett's that they are extremely difficult to compliance and that there are only 2 in australia. But since rb26dett's were available in the r32 gtr that was locally sold, isn't it just a case of making it match the emissions that the r32 had met? Or am i missing something here

e thug alert! your not going to acomplish anything by arguing over the internet

sigh, the monaro 427 is completely legitimate. It just has a stroked and bored stock engine, it is not the supercar that holden were planning on making, just a regular monaro with a massiver engine in it. Oddly enough the only thing in that car that is from a monaro is the shell. The race was clearly in favour of the monaros though, the rx7s had to run less than stock boost yet the monaros were able to increase their engine displacement to 7 ltres... bs fair competition

More info on the cvt and rx7 needed cvt sounds like their taking yet another enjoyable part of car driving away from the driver. No gear shifts but rather a fast mode button and a eco mode buton doesn't realy sound like fun

I'm really interested in the underground scene that japan has with their cars and touge. Its just quite amazing how they drive at breakneck speeds on roads in the hills where one wrong move will kill you, or seriously fubar your car. Is canada like america where the ratio of riced hondas to real quick ones is like 100:1? Or are canadians smarter than their american counterparts I never realised how lucky we are in australia untill i saw (threw internet of course) all the rice in america, im hoping it never gest that bad here though

Can a 1050kg car out brake a 1500+kg r34 gtr?
Intensevil replied to Intensevil's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
By that theory a heavier car can also corner faster. That little bit of extra weight on teh front wheels is still not enuff to compensate for the increased momentum. Its like saying that a sumo wrestler can stop quicker from a sprint than a jockey can. Sure theres extra weight on the part thats doing the stoping, but it is neglible -

Keep this in mind though, since both cars have the same tires then this applies: Cars slow down as a combination of friction between the tires and the road. But before that the tires have to be slowed down by the brakes, have a force applied against them. Small brakes may be able to lock up the brakes, but the way to slow down fastest is by burning off as much energy as possible in the shortest amount of time. The trade off is that the energy is converted to heat. When brakes get heated they become less effective, spongy ish. The brakes have to cool off between slowdowns inorder to remain effective. Smaller brake pads will heat up faster than big ones and become less effective faster. But big brake pads will soak up all the heat and cool down faster in between braking periods, therefore remaining effective for longer. In concluding this, drum brakes suck teh arse if u need to slow down more than once and discs are gooderor. More area and more pots per caliper is better as it spreads teh heat evenly along the pad. -
Given this situation: Both cars are neck and neck and doing 100kmh. They both have the same tires. At a predetermined point they both slam the brakes and brake at the maximum possible potential of the tires (just before lock up). So long as neither car suffers brake fade then I'm pretty sure that the 1050kg car will out brake the gtr. My friend seems to think other wise. Tell him I'm right.

If copys in a digital format that can be aquired threw the internet should arrise, you would "share" them wouldn't you

They drift on the touge... freakin nuts! Now i'm truely in awe : O I've got some videos of fd's and r33's doing some touge runs, as well as some pretty built up hachis. Its good how its all under cover at the moment, its how it should be, kept away from the mainstream
-
I can't find any information about the touge races that go on in japan. I know they happen, but thats about it So whats it like? Do they just drive for fun? Or is it a bit more organised. Theres very few videos of the touge runs too, but the ones i've seen are amazing. The ability to have lightning quick reflexes in pitch dark conditions where one mistake will leave you in a lot of pain is quite incredible to say the least. I'm just curoius about the history of touge and how it all got started up untill to what it is today but i can't find anything on it. Surely some of you guys up there in japan would have seen it first hand?

What gives you the right to call another persons car a peice of shit? Have some respect ffs. It is your opinion, but you'd be wise to keep it to yourself -
1982 Yellow Automotaic 2.6ltre Mitsubishi Sigma SE stationwagon. The car is completely road legal and needs to be re registered. Has a blown head gasket but still runs. Would make a good first car for anyone once its cleaned up and fixed. Make an offer

Count series 8 rx7's out, way to spensive atm. But the s6 and s7 are within sight. s6 are sub 40k and s7 are sub 45k ish. And with changes to the 15 year rule, their value could actually increase
-
The insurance is what kills it though. Buying a new car to save money is one of the biggest traps out there. It may look attractive at first glance, but once u add up all the depreciation thoughts start to set in. As soon as you've driven it out of the dealer u can kiss a few grand gone form its value already. Why not just setlle for a second hand cooper s? Let some other sucker make ur mistake for u

That grill is a trademark mazda feature dating back to the 70's line up. If you look at the last generation of rx7 you'll see that it too has that type of grill. As for no low down power, just add a small turbo to it and run it on low boost, should spool up quickly and give the car some much needed low down power
