  1. But vinyl is purely for looks and rarely serves a pupose, unless used to scoop air to an intercooler or something , hence it is rice when used inapropriatly.
  2. v6 has a different firing order too in comparison to a straight six, so it might not feel as smooth too
  3. Hate to bust your bubble but there is a power/weight limit in victoria, 125kw @ the flywheel per tonne. If you dont beleive me pm gtr-34 about it, hes had his car taken off the road untill hes off his p's. This puts all gtr's off limits, except a kpc10
  4. I know that its supposed to be 280bhp due to the gentlemans agreement but didn't nissan bend the rules a bit? Actually not only nissan but honda and toyota as well with the nsx and supra respectively. What i would like to know is what is the real power produced by these cars in stock form?
  5. u mean the way the ports work is like a 2 stroke? The actual otto cycle is evident in the rotars as well, intake, compression, burn, exhaust. Mazda should really try find a way to make it use less petrol though, their very ineficient
  6. You forgot to mention that the rx8 is na and your skyline has a turbo hanging off its engine. Mazda also had to rush the ecu mapping with their rx8's simply to get the car out the door in time. Some guys on rx8club.com have been playing with the ecu mapping and have managed to get an extra 50 rwhp out of the car. The car has an exhaust done to it as well, but thats still over 280 @ the fly, from an NA car. The fact remains that they are petrol guzzlers, but the bad rep about them isn't true, its not the cars fault but the owners. They abuse the crap out of the car by revving its tits off from a cold start and then bitch and moan when their car doesnt run properly. Its a known fact that you have to let the engine warm up and cool down appropriatly, and because they have oil injection they use up more oil than other cars of that class. Not really sure if this is detrimental to the conidition of the engine, but synthetic oils shouldn't be used for any rotary engine, its recomended to use natural. That video of the fd against the r33 gtr in japan, thats the 255hp rx7, later models like the rz's and rs's have 280hp claimed and the turbo reliabilty issues are solved as well.

  8. i like the look of it, it does look tough in a meaty kinda way, but the arse end makes me want to vomit. Its stove top and a half back there. If they were to implement these lights into it, http://members.iinet.net.au/~awcabren/GT-R_004.jpg , then it would be looking rather sex A skyline to me isn't a skyline unless its got the stove tops, its their signature part of the car. I think what nissan will do is reserve teh stove tops for the performance skyline, the new gtr that thing will have the looks and the power i reckon. Even if its not a evolution of the r3x shape, its still a gtr.
  9. Would have to be the heritage for me. I've only been into cars for a few years but i used to think that skylines were those big boxy skyline gxe's and crap like that, r30 and 31 series. Then i started to do a bit of research and found out how the car demolished the group A series, won every race in japan and bathurst too. Was then that i realised this is a machine not to be taken lightly. It has since made its way into my list of favourite cars , the original godzilla anyway
  10. ae86 are god cars because their a cult car in japan. Think about it, 950 kg, rwd, short wheel base. Their a classic toyota. It was keichi tsuchiya which helped bring them to glory, he used to do downhill touge with his ae86. He was able to defeat pretty much any car on the downhill ala initial d. And the sound of a na 1.6 revving its guts off is awesome
  11. Saw teh same gtr today at springvale road and burwood highway intersection, and damn it is sexy! I din't get a real good look at is as we were going the other way but it would be good to know whos it is.
  12. no matter how ugly teh car turns up, the 480hp is going to make up for it. I've noticed that nissan's new cars are all starting to look the same.. but with sublimal differences. the 350z and g35 look very similar. And if you've seen the s16 artists rendition you'll see it too looks the same. Why is nissan following this route, soon they'll just have one car!

  18. the skylines in the jgtc don't even run attessa, or an rb series engine. From what i last heard they've basturdised teh car to make it a fair fight
  19. The power to weight ratio for an r34 gtt is a lot over the limit so you can count that out.
