Nuff said. Done at 1bar boost on stock internals with safe tune. Ecu used is Wolf3D v4. Big shout to guys at SST for their tuning, and Fabs from extreme Automotive for putting in all the spanner work to make it happen.

watched it here in Perth and have to agree, the commentators were useless "he's won the run" 5 repeats later "oh no he redlighted" the host chick was bangin though

Well its been a while since I posted as have been busy with life in general. As some might remember I posted last year in regards to my Cefiro import which was making around 306rwhp from its RB20DET engine. Well that engine had chosen to expire after 2 injectors failed. Week later replacement engine was in but only cranked over 297rwhp, so i decided to break it in an attempt to get 300+ again(at $500 an engine not such an issue). Well it broke. Had a sit down and thought, what do I want from this car, lots of power and more response?(RB20's are horribly laggy). So I went for the plunge and installed an RB26DETT from an R33 GT-R. This required some custom work in regards to the sump(now running an 8L sump as oposed to standard 4L). While more costly in the long run I have alot more power potential. On friday it went onto the rollers to finally get tuned(was off the road since January) and it layed down a rather nice 417.3rwhp @ 1bar boost(14.2psi) with over 1600ft-lbs of torque at 1 stage(will scan dyno sheet sooner or later). The setup isnt to laggy either with peak boost forming at around 4,500rpm and a nice broad spread of power from 5000rpm to around 7750rpm. This tune is a safe setup due to the stock internals and with more timing I believe even at 1 bar there is still more potential in it. List of mods to engine are: RB26DETT from R33 GT-R Nismo cams(256 or 264 we are unsure but give a very nice idle) HKS adjustable cam gears Nismo fuel pressure regulator Larger Hybrid Intercooler Custom turbos(equivilant to hi flo 2540's, these have run over 2bar before and still made power on previous owners car) HKS Dump pipes twin 3" exhaust Wolf3d V4 ecu tuned for MAP table 600cc nismo injectors Custom Fuel Sump There are other mods such as Twin plate OS clutch and VLT Box aswell as custom tailshaft. Overall i'm very happy with the results and once my Forged rods(Pauter) and some forged pistons(ares more likely still undecided) go in i plan to fit another fuel pump(depending if I went 044 or 040 1st time round cant remember) and wind up the boost HUGE thanks has to go to Fabs of Extreme Autosport for putting up with not only doing the work on my car but my constant questions, phone calls and changing of mind. Also to Anthony(ND4SPD) and Steve(SST_Steve) with the tuning and other information I have required when Fabs was busy. Some pictures can be found at http://summoner.perthstreetcars.net/Cefiro/ most of them are older pics of the car but there are some work in progress happy snaps.

I still am doubting wheel spin as being cause for the up n down bits. transfering of power i can understand though as being a potential cause
-
Nice figure, but I do wonder about it being done in 3rd not 4th. Also i doubt those dips are wheel spin just friday i ran my cefiro up on the dyno and thats rwd and it didnt have any of those dips.. Nice figure though suprised power delivery isnt that broad though seems pretty peaky, mite be due to the gearing though

MELV that is indeed me, Erin sounds good to me. As for forklift ticket, i do have my crown certification for forklifts aswell as chubb emergency responce training etc

QLD is home of Hybrid coolers, better value for money imho
-
unloaded containers taken phone orders/consultant support Accounts recievable(process customer/consultant cards, chasing up payments) IT maintenance(exchange, citrix metaframe, veritas backup exec etc) willing to do anywork, be it manual labour or mail boy etc
-
Well I am moving to QLD in July, finally taking the step. Odds are I will be staying in Brisbane with family friends until I find a job that will pay sufficiently for me to cover my costs. I drive an A31 cefiro and will be taking this car over with me when I come. Question is, would anyone be able to assist me in getting any work in either brisbane or goldcoast. I am willing to do anything work wise(within reason). Look forward to meeting you guys when I am over

nm, just saw your updated details R32 GT-R spose I can't fault that choice
-
Die how so? would of been perfect excuse to drop in RB26.. what did you get instead now? Yard is such a waste of a nice car
-
ah well, hopefully it has gone to a good home and that person will still be bringing it out and about
-
sounds like a good idea.. i've heard theres currently 2 RB26 cefiros there 1 with mods 1 stock, I know of 3 others cefiro's(quizz, cams, fidels) and theres another 2 getting built with RB26's and 2 with RB25's atm.. possibly a 2rd rb26 1 on roads already aswell as 2 i mentioned above
-
is it? hmmm.. ah well then all good, saves me $'s was thinkingwould need 2
-
I've got best of both worlds, GT-R power in sexy Cefiro guise
-
Better keep it squizz, i want to compare ceffys when I move over in July with mine
-
I would of loved to be there flying the antilag.com flag and SST(if steve would of allowed it). I find the excuse of road tyres to be somewhat moot as far as I recall GOTBOOST was running on Nitto's and still did amazing times with a fantastic hook up..
-
kamikaze, yeh but some of us need 2
-
i'll be running standard BOV's on my rb26 cefiro project... thankfully i've sourced a set

VLT gearbox vs RB25DET gearbox
summoner replied to summoner's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Well I talked to fabs this morning he reckons will be more than strong enough, but I figured i'd see what other peoples views on this are? End of day he knows i'm comming to qld and if it breaks, he's getting it personally delivered to him to fix -
Well I am now in a predicament that an "RB25DET" gearbox i purchased is actually a rebuilt VLT gearbox. The guy who sold it to me has stated it will hold just as much power as a RB25DET gearbox so I am asking the collective minds of SAU. Can a VLT box handle over 500rwhp, is it as strong/smooth as an RB25DET box? I've done a search but couldnt find anything which does a comparison between VLT and RB25DET boxes..

I am curious at what stage of rwhp does 1 need to change RB26 rods to forged items? or is it more RPM dependant? I plan on around 500-550rwhp and have the engine spin to 9000rpm. I know RB30 rods are fair hardy items but I am curious if changing just the pistons would be sufficient to get 500+rwhp
