  1. accessible via consult? what are they used for (theyre on that in car tv or something? does that tv get its stuff from consult?)
  2. most turbo timers have an "turn off now" function\button
  3. will be done soon! wish i could make uni going away, but all my assignments for both my subjects are due this week
  4. yeh, wish something could be done about that, but until cars come with accelerometers to measure speed rather than the current gearbox/wheelturns method, its impossible. theres possible mathematical methods to try and guess whats wheelspin, when it stops, and then assume linear acceleration over from timestart to when wheelspin stops (then normal from then on), but simply the most accurate way is to not wheelspin to begin with real drivers dont get wheelspin anyway ive put u down as confirmed
  5. this weekend or thru the week next week is still looking possible. i pretty much only need to finalise the setup for the injector size, add a fuse and a few other hardware things, then make the cables and put it in the box. got a couple uni assignments that ill hopefully get out of the way by wednesday so ill have couple days and maybe saturday to finish it off, fingers crossed. also need to finalise the disclaimer/waiver that will need to be signed, and that should hopefully be it!
  6. just letting everyone know ive received some boards i sent away to be made/assembled for usb-serial converters that can be used for those who dont have a serial port on their laptops - they use the FTDI chip which is pretty much the best chip out there for converters - but theyre expensive! (others give u random BSOD/resets like the targus one i have). its a bit simpler converter in that it doesnt convert the handshaking signals (which are used by modems etc, but not consult interfaces) still have to test them though with any luck ill have some of them made by time i finish testing and start selling the displays. most likely price will be around the $20-$25 mark. compared to the $50+ here, hopefully thats ok
  7. btw thanks for everyone's help, im just going to require user to specify the size rather than try and provide a list of all possible injectors for them to choose from (which itself would take a lot of memory up on the device also). but this should be a good reference for anyone who's not quite sure
  8. cheers, thats just about perfect should probably add something like: Selling or otherwise transferring this item to a third party, or allowing a third party to use this product is only permitted if they accept the conditions herein, and failure to pass on or otherwise inform them of these conditions may result in you assuming full responsibility for anything that may occur as a result of this. ie, to make sure anyone at all who uses the device will have accepted those conditions. maybe add something saying that if they sell it they should obtained a signed copy of this statement from the buyer to protect themselves (given theyre the ones selling or otherwise giving it away), and must forward a copy along to me? in terms to tracking any potential theft, along with being able to info people about upgrades etc, it would be good for me to know who the new owners are if anyone ever sells theirs, so it would be good to get that into it
  9. ive added u to the list
  10. no reason why it shouldnt (read that paragraph up top of main post which talks about what its compatible with).
  11. here's a video demo and assosciated commentary in everyone's favourite american standard code for information interchange format (right...) 7.5mb on the video or something, divx5.something
  12. here's the pics of 2 potential spots in my N14. in the flipdown if u dont need to look at it much, and on steering column. note the angle on steering column is straight on and u cant see clock - but from a higher position where drivers eyes are, you might be able to see clock. the device is also "falling over" backwards a bit so its taking up slightly more space than it would otherwise due to angle its on.
  13. i havent had this happen since. maybe i need a pm to be in my inbox when i first visit site, read it (goes to 0 new pm) then do the search and it comes back with 1 new pm?
  14. got the L/100KM working, works great! also found out while driving to bondi and back i did my distance calcs for time trials wrong and was assuming the speed in kph was same as speed in metres/s (its around 3 times as much), so my leisurely 400m times were <10s the 0-160km/h time trial is also good to use to test how accurate distance measuring is compared to your odometer (my odo is broken atm so that doesnt help!) as assuming you dont hit 160km/h, it will run indefinitely (until you stop it). the unit gets warm while running due to the voltage regulator inside, at a guess maybe ~40 degrees? will see what i can do to lower that (temp is due to voltage reg having to drop 14v down to 5v...its possible to make an external voltage reg drop temp from 14v to 9v so the one inside the module only drops 9v to 5v and shouldnt heat up much at all) ive bought a whole bunch of 0.5A fuses ill be testing, final unit will probably have a fuse on it to give people a piece of mind that it cant short anything important or blow any car fuses (assuming unit somehow were to malfunction). not much longer to go now hopefully!
  15. yeh technology these days, pretty complicated stuff
  16. ive released an update to the pocket pc edition which fixes the logging frequency (now its as often as pda can handle, ie as many log packets as sensor updates on screen, depends on speed of ur pda), and also creates seperate file each time for logging) http://www.ecutalk.com
  17. so how does a 2sp auto suzuki mightyboy submit to this test? convert to 4sp manual?!
  18. first place ive seen anything other than 480cc (from the first 20 or so sources online, all said 480)
  19. none of references ive found mention any diff between auto/manual
  20. pretty sure ser 4-6 are 550cc as theyre a common upgrade for rb engines?
  21. thanks, updated. not sure yet if ill just get people to enter in their car, or just inj cc size. or maybe car then let them edit inj cc size
  22. for my consult lcd, hoping to get L/100KM reading on it, so need to know all the common nissan injector sizes for the injector setup. this will basically be the size of injectors people are to chose from when setting it up: 135cc (CG10DE/CG13DE)? 148cc (CG10DE/CG13DE)? 185cc (GA16DE)? 200cc (GA16DE)? 250cc (S13/N14 SR20DE) 260cc (S13 CA18DE) 270cc (S14/S15 SR20DE, RB20DET) 370cc (CA18DET, S13 SR20DET, RB25DET, VG30DETT, AUS S15 SR20DET Purple) 380cc (S14 SR20DET) 440cc (RB26DETT) 480cc (JAP S15 SR20DET Maroon) upgrades: 550, 600,660,720,740,850 question: are there any values that may be used ive missed? any wrong?
  23. going to be testing them on one at least, but no reason why it wouldnt. has the RH o2/afm readouts so should be good but theres too many people that want one already, so im not going to be posting about them anywhere else yet till everyone on here and pga has one first
  24. well picked up, cheers!
