  1. the 30-something pages in this thread indicate otherwise
  2. both of mine have been small enough (envelope express post) to fit in normal mailbox my guess is maybe he simply is a bit short on stock? would be good for him to let u know if theirs a delay
  3. still unsure if ill be able to do that, will take a while to write up a construction guide and whatnot, and troubleshooting any problems will be hard. construction itself might not be too difficult so i might just do that myself essentially it comes down to whether i think ill save more time doing it myself or not whether i can offer it as a kit. wont rule out anything yet though at this stage i think best case scenario would be end of march for when i get things all ready by (either diy or assembled), but have been busy at work lately so havent had much time to finalise stuff like pcb layout (which then effects the enclosure production).
  4. got a first quote back on the enclosure being custom made, going to be around the 30$ in large quantities (ie 50-100), which i guess if i cant get anything better will go with it. around $15 more than what i budgeted for, but still have another place to check out so will see if i can get something better there
  5. http://techdiag.co.uk/obdscantech/ScanTechNissan.zip should be good enough to test it with, however it has some horrible "give us money" screen that pops up every 5 seconds not sure if they disabled the hicas/at/ac sections of it or not
  6. there arent any active tests for hicas i dont think you can get steering angle, direction, and a few other random things. no g-sensor i dont think wouldnt be cable distance, electronic signals travel at speed of light. could be it needs to relay data and whatnot.
  7. sounds good ugboot - have u tried scantech nissan (which supposedly supports the hicas/at/ac ecus) to see if they work on yours, or do they send it too fast also?
  8. edit: sorry, delete
  9. why buy it off ebay when u get it cheaper directly from mark? (see post #616). 35 delivered vs 42.something yes bobba if you screw it in too far u can make some damaging boost (most likely to your turbo) so just try it from stock and wind it in with about a 1/4 turbo at most each time. make sure u test it on a good uphil in a highish gear so u can stop if u see it go past ur max boost - rather than 1st/2nd gear when youll hit 18psi before u realise, then itll be too late no need to get a professional to install it if u know what boost to safely run and can be sensible about testing it.
  10. have released an alpha version of ecu talk while or work on the consult lcd http://www.ecutalk.com needs .net framework 1.1, links on the downloads page there
  11. desktop and ppc software is on hold while im working on this. havent really started ppc app aside from just testing some stuff will work on it. good thing will be that knowing how to make it look will be harder than actually doing it be working a bit on trying to get a beta of the desktop version available today
  12. express post, he's using quick about sending them. youd probably get it by wed if your in express post network, maybe earlier if you put the payment thru before 4pm friday or whatever you banks cutoff is (or if u made it in person) you can probably email him to ask when its sent out, but normally he just sends it and it arrives
  13. not yet...got word back from one of the two places i contacted about getting it custom made (this one in the US) and i should get an estimate on how much it would cost from them soonish. still finalising some of the hardware - ive decided on just serial consult interface capability (was thinking of usb, but decided the usb if at all would be an adaptor onto the serial - have already tested this in its basics and its fine, but will cost an extra $20 and probably diy to put together). want to have the pcb made so that all future functionality i might put onto the device is there to start with - ie room for eeprom to store data, buzzer for alarms, etc ive found a decent LCD (viewing angle 50 from up, 60 from below, and 40 each side which is by far best ive seen, good refresh time, also is wide temp which is great) which ive got a couple of to test with. just hope they are kept in stock as i bought 3 of the last 8, but it might take quite a while to get more in
  14. maybe half a turn inwards from stock?
  15. see post #616 back the previous page (31) of this thread. i think its $35 including postage now which he's still kept cheaper for sau ppl than the ebay cost (42.40 something). ask him if u can go into a branch early tomorrow morning to deposit money, if he'll be able to send it out that arvo so u get it on friday. maybe ask him if u can pay via paypal would be an alternative, as its instant.
  16. heres the first draft of the enclosure. the back pcb will have switch/buttons on a right angle facing upwards thru holes in the top lid/panel
  17. or a slap in the face at default, mine was dropping boost (up to 8 then down to about 5), then we turned it up and now its about 9.5 and only spiking to a tad more, maybe 10. will be getting another for my other car
  18. sorry, both of those are gone
  19. ive decided at this stage to put any further consult interface kits on hold indefinitely as i wont have time whilst working on the consult lcd display: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=102414 im planning to have it come with integrated serial and usb consult interfaces
  20. supposedly air con, hicas, and auto transmission can be queried via consult protocol, but ive never had success. i saw a table of whats supported in what vehicle, and i think the common cars only support ecu, whereas gtr and z32 (which ive never tried) support some of the others
  21. if u can grab the ecu serial number (23710-XXXXX) then i can probably check when ur ecu is from. most likely if u havent wired up the consult port ull need to do that, but thats only a minor issue.
  22. thats possible, but a fair bit harder/time consuming to implement (if u mean active tests) the theory is that if im able to integrate a consult interface into it, then for "1 off" diagnostic things like dropping cylinders, turning fans on/off etc, would be something u use the laptop for. whereas things that are useful in everyday running would be on the device. id really like to get it to do fault codes though
  23. 25ms = 40 a second, whereas 250ms = 4. so not quite as fast as an lcd. also, its the ability to read a value at any one moment is one of the other reasons u dont want it updating too fast eeprom is just memory (not sure what u meant by that). the display needs a microcontroller (program on a chip) to control it all
  24. diff colour backlights may be a bit tricky due to costs and minimum orders, id assume anything other than the standard would add some cost/delay. might be possible to get different backlights prospectively (ie, get a few different ones in the one order in anticipation that people may want diff colour ones)
  25. the thread is 31 pages because people ask the same questions. wait till you get the boost controller, it comes with instructions. if they arent good enough, then come back and read the thread in reverse (im sure people have given install instructions many times in last 5 pages alone)
