some feedback on the site - i notice the stock list pages for the cateogories (eg exhausts: http://www.easyautobits.com/index.php?cati...et_add_ad_cat=0) have the full sized picture as the small preview, and this takes a bit of loading, some pages coming in around 500kb in total, which is a bit much. if ur able to make thumbnails (there may be some php script or something that can generate them, i have no idea) and get the size down thatd be good. also the colour scheme looks, i dunno, typical of those random web portal popup sites u get often when running thru the net (i cant surf, so running it is), although i dont have a suggestion as to a better colour scheme

Where is water temp sensor? + radiator question
NewKleer replied to NewKleer's topic in General Maintenance
so you typically wont/cant use an existing sensor to get water temp? (im not sure where the thread where mr nissan put his sensor, i cant even find a user called mr nissan here) thanks -
Where is water temp sensor? + radiator question
NewKleer replied to NewKleer's topic in General Maintenance
so thats 3 different sensors, 2 on top hose for dash temp and to ecu, and one on bottom hose, thermostat, so what is the purpose of the thermostat if the dash and ecu are taken care of by the top two? and where does that sensor in the radiator go? also where do you typically get the water temp from when hooking up a water temp gauge? -
Is the water temp sensor the same as the thermostat? Whats the sensor (presumably) in the bottom of the radiator? (mine has wires chopped off). Is engine temp measured from the thermostat (its the one in the housing @ coolant return to radiator, ie where top hose connects to engine?) Tomorrow the silviline should be back on the road after a month on the sidelines getting the radiator replaced. Another question, is it aluminimum or copper (or neither) radiators that are most susceptible to "electrolysis" that ive heard about that can wreck radiators with loose currents? Thanks in advance. Peter

Normal operation temp on RB25DET...
NewKleer replied to USRB25S13's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
how low is very low? ive got 6.5 and 4.5cm clearance on left/right of radiator, less if i want a bit of room in case of minor frontal impact (fans in the engine pulleys and stuff cant be too much fun) -

NewKleer replied to USRB25S13's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
thats right, i recently bought an r33 radiator on the assumption that it would fit, but its about 2 inches too tall. the only problem with a thicker radiator is it means even less room for thermo fans....if u want to keep the air con that is -

i think its good, just the more it can be made to look like the rest of the forums the easier itll be to navigate for those who find it hard to catch on as it is. i can see already i think uve got the top bar the same between the forums. the pictures on the whole (in the ad list bit, not viewing individual ad) are probably a bit big, same with those down the bottom. and this is from someone on a large res, so the problem may be moreso for lower res users. -

Normal operation temp on RB25DET...
NewKleer replied to USRB25S13's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
where is water temp measured from? is it that drain plug thing in the bottom of the radiator (mine has the wires chopped off) or is it measured from the thermostat in the housign where the coolant comes from engine back to radiator? ive just put a replacement triple core radiator in my rb25 sil, still need to mount a thermo fan. temps used to be up to nearly the 3rd notch on the temp gauge. last radiator (r32) developed a leak hence the replacement. -
SWAP: R33 Radiator for your R32 Radiator
NewKleer replied to NewKleer's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
no longer needing a swap, just a straight sale of the r33 rad. -
height from lip->lip of the core on the left one is about 38cm, and lip->lip on the right hand side one was 40cm. in addition, the top tank is another 1cm or so taller on the right one. thickness and width are the same for both, and id assume at least one of probably both are from either r32/r33, so i guess whatever standard size they are, though i could measure this if it helps. noticable differences on the top tank is that the large radiator has a lopsided top, with the hose side being taller than non hose side, whereas on the smaller radiator is reasonably symmetrical
-
is the left one r32 and right one r33? would an r33 radiator fit in an r32? cause ive just spent money buying the right side one, so possibly could trade it for an r32 radiator? r33 ones are worth more arent they? ive just spoken to the guy who supplied the radiator, he said the guys who did his conversion swapped the r33 radiator from halfcut with an r32 without telling him, so thats why he thought the r33 radiator would fit.

Hi guys Recently the radiator on my RB25 Silvia died, and assuming it was an R33 radiator, i got a replacement radiator, which is presumably an R33 radiator also. The problem is, the replacement is a lot taller than the original, and the bonnet wont close due to the height, so i dont know which each radiator is from. So im trying to work out which radiator is which. Ive attached three pics, first the original radiator, then both, then the replacement. If anyone can shed the light on which is which thatd be good. Thanks

i did a compressed air test on it, and there was definitely a leak from the middle of the radiator. im assuming i lost/was losing all the coolant down to the leak (about half way down radiator) and hence the overheating. at least i hope that was the cause, but nonetheless the radiator did have a leak, so hopefully it was just that. generally speaking the temps were reasonably ok until the day it happened, so i think the cooling is sufficient, although ill look at getting one bigger thermo fan to replace the two smaller ones, hopefully having similar effect whilst giving more leeway to the pulleys of the engine, as small frontal impact and the fans mandle up all the pulleys. ive got a few pics taken of the radiator if anyone is able to spot what it is, but presumably its the rb25 one, taken from the half cut. http://irg.ausgamers.com/silvia/rad1.jpg http://irg.ausgamers.com/silvia/rad2.jpg http://irg.ausgamers.com/silvia/rad3.jpg http://irg.ausgamers.com/silvia/rad4.jpg http://irg.ausgamers.com/silvia/rad5.jpg as can be seen, whoever put the radiator in decided to just drill holes thru it for the thermo fans, although the leak wasnt directly near any of the holes. as for the thermo fans, i think they are all permanently on anyway.

as u can imagine there isnt very much room in an s13 engine bay with an rb25 in it. im gonna see if i can stick a fan between the air con radiator and whatever replacement radiator i get, then perhaps get a smaller fan on the right hand side (side nearly touching pulleys). i dont think a normal clutch setup would work? (do u mean the crank driven one?)

anyone know? the radiator had this on the top, if it helps: Nissan NICHI-RA PAT-APP 48-86457

Hi, im looking for a replacement radiator (see here if u happen to have one) as i think my current one has blown (car overheated and it was leaking coolant), my problem is though im not 100% sure what radiator i currently have, and i dont know how to check. here are some pics with radiator in it if it helps determine what radiator i have. and more to the point, are there any major differences between the r32 and r33 (gts-t and gtr) radiators? pics: http://irg.ausgamers.com/silvia/engine1.jpg http://irg.ausgamers.com/silvia/engine3.jpg http://irg.ausgamers.com/silvia/elecfans1.jpg thanks in advance for any help

after a radiator if i can find one around sydney, preferably with hoses and the thermostat. not 100% sure i need a r33 one (for rb25 silvia, hence the uncertainty) the current one i have is shown (not too well) in these pics: http://irg.ausgamers.com/silvia/engine1.jpg http://irg.ausgamers.com/silvia/engine3.jpg http://irg.ausgamers.com/silvia/elecfans1.jpg if theres an easier way to identify what radiator i have i can go and check.

you can hear it thru the pod? if its closer to the pod than the turbo, then maybe its not the turbo itself. have u checked the intercooler piping/clamps? a small air leak (as said earlier) could make a whistling sound
