  1. Congrats on the buy Darren.. Off topic: You heading down to Casterton drags this weekend? There should be a few Skylines down there...
  2. Nice work Al! I'll go a clutch line in black for R33 GTST.
  3. Jason, I had similar problems with Response amp... Go out and buy a ground-loop isolator (i think that's what they're called) for $20. Any good audio joint will have them, fixed my problem straight away... The guys there said that any cheapo amp will need one... Hope that helps!
  4. Appamjb, Greenline are excellent! The only importer I've bought from and their prices are hard to beat. Drop Jason an email ( [email protected] ), he'll be able to answer any of your questions.
  5. The Casterton Drags will be held on the 6th and 7th of November The Casterton Drags are 1/8 mile and the event is held over the saturday and sunday. There is dial your own racing all weekend and there are prizes & products & money up for grabs. There is also a burnout comp on the saturday night. The prize for the burnout comp is usally a new set of tyres. You will get a fair few runs in. Casterton is located in western victoria about 20 minutes from the S.A border and is 40 minutes the other side of Hamilton. Its about a 350kms from Melbourne. For more info call Dave Curtis on (03) 55 811 065 or 0428 566683
  6. I had a new set of rims (no rubber) sent from Sydney to Geelong for a total of $64 via TNT... I sent off a set of rims (with rubber) to Adelaide using Australia Post for $96 total. My suggestion would be to take them into Australia Post and get an on-the-spot quote. Also provide insurance for an extra $20. Hope it helps.
  7. $4K should get you a pretty decent system... personally with that sort of money I'd go for DLS speakers (sub + splits) and rockford amps. What HU you running?
  8. Got S2 front bar and car was sold to me from dealership with bent plates... Might be a silly question, but does anyone know if there are laws against bent number plates?
  9. Gigolo, I had similar idle problems awhile back, not sure if it's the same thing, but the problem was carbon/crap build-up on the idle-control valve... Had this cleaned and haven't had a problem since, Dyson said that this was a pretty common thing with imported jap cars.
  10. Sux!!! Seems like every new car that comes out has driving lights fitted and I personally can see the use of them at all... Sure the road looks brighter... but it's not like you need them... You might if you live in the country though, to see potholes and whatnot. Rant; And for the guys (honda and excel drivers of Geelong) who are fitting them to any old piece of shit to make them look good... what a pack of wankers!
  11. Roma, you might wanna check out www.partslocator.com.au to source some parts. Good luck mate!
  12. wtf? who puts mesh in front of their front mount?
  13. JVC MP3 HU DEI splits Clarion 6's JVC 4x50W amp Response 2x75W amp Sony 12" 1200W sub
  14. Rekin, my 2nd car was an MX6 (non-turbo), payed $14K for it and I never had any problems with it! Picked up insurance for $740 with rating 5 via GIO. They're a good car to learn in, as they've got a little bit of power and stick to road like glue (you can't go past 4WS) + pretty good on fuel too! I've seen a few P-Platers driving around in them lately, they're a good build up car to getting a Skyline in my opinion.
  15. Yep, I'm hoping that next week when I do my oil change that the oil I drain out is similar to what I put in... I used Mobil1 for 2 oil changes and both times I had the putrid black death oil fill my oil pan... Wasn't happy, did a bit of research and went for Motul.
  16. JimX... I travel at least 1100kms/week, and I've noticed that since changing to Motul 8100 I've seen better gains in my fuel economy (bowt 30-40kms extra), it's not much but appealing to me - Performing better in general than what it did with Mobil1 - Comes up to normal engine temp quicker - Gear changing smoother - Car is alot quieter, and I now call her p u s s y :headspin:
  17. I've tried several different brands, but have found from personal experience that the Motul 8100 is best so far... As CK said, can someone please explain what ester synthetic is???
  18. Wouldn't waste your money on em mate, they're illegal if you put them on your rear parcel shelf!
  19. Christian & co, Is it possible to get the rules for selling items changed so that people have to upload a pic of their item to be able to sell it? Seems like in every thread, the first thing people are asking is if they have a pic of the item... Makes sense to me that this should be mandatory... Kyran.
  20. Ven, have a look on eBay mate, there's a company on there selling them for $70 (I think).
  21. I've got mine on the A-Pillar, but if a cop ever tried to defect me for it I'd get pissed off, cause the way I see it, taxis with their souvalaki ordering system thingy are just the same! But the government has different laws for different things I suppose... funny how the law works against you!
  22. Bass, should work fine, bleeders or whatever you want to call them are just pressure regulators anyway. A friend of mine's actually got his setup in cabin. SK, can you explain a bit more about the last t piece section. I just have mine going from plenum -> releif valve -> regulator -> wastegate. I just blocked off the other section where the stock boost system went with a bit of hose and a bike tube cap... Was I not supposed to do this?
  23. Interested, depending on cost... I'd say by the look of things, you might be better off just making the drivers side rails??? Just a thought...
