hey guys been chasing cheap second hand tyres lately, i usually get em from the second hand tyre shop on princess hwy in dandy (next to the tyre factory). im after some with decent tread but they are mainly for drifting, i am struggling to find some though. i need 17"x225-255x what ever profile. was thinking this is the vic forum so i would ask in here if anyone knows of a place? thanks in advance Gezza

hey guys and girls I currenlty have an 1994 r33 gts-t that i was thinking of using as a track car but have changed my mind and after putting too much cash into it, would like to swap up to an R33-GTR. have had the car for a year now and bought it as stock. now has all the usuals, car has a 1996 series 2 engine in it, just did its 100km service R34 gtt turbo Pod filter FMIC boost T, set at 10psi 3"-3.5" catback exhaust Split fire coilpacks Link ECU (not installed) HD clutch 17" tri spoke advans + stockies cage all ready to go into it. Plus spare parts havnt had it tuned yet but should be able to do 200rwkw, been told the r34turbo can handle a bit more than a r33 turbo. i put 3grand into the engine when i first bought it, new head ect. and since then has been running great! as stated in the sub heading paint isnt great, front panels are a home respray job but it adds character asking 12 but will consider any resonable offers, and i would preffer to swap it plus plenty of cash for a R33 GTR. thanks heaps everyone, will get pics up late tonight! you can get me via pm, 0433971544 or [email protected] Cheers Gezza

yea i read this in High performance imports magazine. they say something like drag tyres are the last things you want to run on a dyno, use cheap hard low profile tyres supposedly. im just saying what i have read though so dont flame me. as for borg-warners, i have been hunting and all of them on ebayUS are super exspensive compared to the holsets, there is a hx40w (holset) on ebay atm for like $350 and they flow like crazy, just ask CJ. havent been able to find any suppliers in Aus for borgs and holset are super exspensive if you buy em here. cheers Gezza

go to bunning and get some stuff that they use for roofing or some shit. there like 70cents and they work good.

hey guys just been searching ebay and found this. the guy doesnt know the actual model "hx35,hy35,hx55 ect." these are the details he has given, any idea on what it is? The tag reads: Cummins Kit 3800 401RX Assy. 3538232 Serial 134 05 97 The diameter of the hole where the turbine is at the steel end: Internal - 83mm External - 101mm The diameter of the hole where the turbine is at the alloy end: Internal - 93mm External - 101mm The diameter of the hole where the pressure is fed back to the engine (alloy): Internal - 53mm External - 74mm thanks for any help you can offer. most of the hx35's i have found have an internal gate, but i was reading that depending on the year of the truck the turbo is from (eg. 1997 dodge ram) depends on how much psi the wastegate is rated at. the earlier models were 17psi, the new ones are 23psi. if i was only looking at say 16-20 psi to start with, can i leave it internal? (money factor for now) does changing it to external create any inefficiency in the turbo? If only i could get hold of a holset in Aus! pathetic AUSdollar! Btw chris, when i finaly get a hx35 i will most definatley try and fit it on standard manifold , wish me luck lol thanks for all your help guys! Gezza

Chris you are a pool of information . i have been doing a bit of research and it does seem that the borg warner comes out on top, however if you look at ebay US i dont think youll find a decent one for less than like 800buks as opposed to a hx35 holset that i have just found that is currently 160buks. bang for buck, easily the holset, and repair kits are only like 70buks. shipping is a b#tch tho, 250USD to get one to here according to one seller. chris how much is one to japan?
